Chapter 122 - Chapter 122

Hitomi and Kasumi watched the screen in amazement observing the inconceivable picture of a half-awakened bijuu trying to destroy the enemy. Pain could only barely repel attacks and flee.

They couldn't comment on everything happening on screen—so quickly watched to the end. Seeing the tailed beast sealed, victory over Pain, and resurrection of all Konoha residents.

After turning off the television both girls sat silently thinking for some time. A huge weight lifted from each soul when the enemy was defeated and Konoha saved.

"He just gave up and after a few words decided to resurrect everyone at the cost of his life?" Kasumi asked. She could hardly believe something so banal.

"What happens on screen has too many discrepancies with real life. I decided to show you what awaits in the future—details and particulars may differ. It's quite possible Pain will be defeated differently."

"If Konoha handles this bastard herself then we have no reason to fight him—right?" Kasumi suggested.

"Not quite. First—with my arrival in your world history may go differently. Second—Pain may attack us for unknown reasons and then we need strength for defense. Third—as I already said—he's not the main problem. The main problem is the Sage of Six Paths' mother—Kaguya," he said pointing to the screen showing fragments of Kaguya's power. Unfortunately he couldn't reproduce the Fourth Shinobi World War and battle with Kaguya—those memories were unclear and fragmentary.

"Oh god!" Hitomi whispered seeing Byakugan in Kaguya's eyes. At first glance she could tell these were eyes of incredible level—before which all Hyuga clan members would have to fall to their knees.

Kenshin showed them several more fragments including the Ten-Tails bomb—which gave both beauties goosebumps.

Then he brought them out of the "dream"; for the next half hour they only asked various questions. He could answer some but not others. Eventually Kasumi asked:

"Why did you tell us and the children everything? What if someone reaches their memories and learns all your secrets?!"

"That's why I told now—not half a year ago. Based on the Hyuga clan's slave seal I developed a formation that destroys the bearer's brain if anyone invades their mind," he said—hurrying to calm both beauties.

"This formation is an extreme measure so a captured person isn't tortured to death. Better to die painlessly than reveal family secrets and die agonizingly. Besides—I won't install it on you. You're my beloved girls; if the enemy reaches you everything is over anyway," Kenshin sighed—stroking both beauties' backs. They pressed against his chest; Hitomi said:

"I want you to install this formation on me. Better to die than fall to the enemy and harm those I love more than life!" Hitomi declared firmly.

"I agree with her. I'd rather die than reveal our secrets or fall into enemy hands," Kasumi agreed with her friend.

"Girls—I greatly appreciate your love but this formation isn't suitable for you. You're not warriors and shouldn't die for information. I'll develop a formation specially for you if you're so firm in your convictions," Kenshin said—kissing both on the crown.

"Alright…" Hitomi whispered; both pressed, they pressed against his chest again. Kenshin really loved how affectionate and understanding his wives were—so the entire remaining evening he had to calm all four wives.

Aya and Natsumi—noticing Kasumi and Hitomi disappeared somewhere—immediately rushed to Kenshin's room where he had to conduct a "session" for them too. He showed them the same—battle with Pain and fragments of Fourth World War battles.

Until night he had to answer questions from all four—then fall asleep in their embrace. They were all cramped but the girls flatly refused to sleep anywhere except Kenshin's bed.

Day 383.

"We've been searching for hours but still haven't found the target. I don't like this…" Fourth said mentally.

"Me neither—but a mission is a mission. The client said the target is mid-Chunin level. Excellent chance to hone skills," Ichiro replied.

"Hey you Nakayama—why are you always silent like old lady Chiyo's puppets?" one sturdy-looking shinobi sitting fifteen meters away laughed.

"Better that than a talkative idiot," Eighteenth replied. In that time he had grown much stronger and could now resist his mother's attacks without much trouble.

"What did you say pup?!" the thick-faced man began boiling; all Nakayama family group members tensed—ready to spring.

"Calm down—these guys are no pushovers. Thirty-four missions in four months—not one failed. I don't recommend messing with them," a man with slight gray hair said. From how his words affected the burly brute it was easy to see he was the team commander.

"Nakayama—don't take offense at my friend; he's a bit hot-tempered and unrestrained. Anyway we're all in the same boat now and must act together. Who knows what awaits ahead," the commander said smiling—then suddenly froze sensing danger and tried jumping aside.

Ichiro and brothers reacted even faster—leaping in different directions and managing just in time—ending up away from the enemy technique's epicenter.
