Captain America didn't respond. The blue glow in his eyes flickered wildly, showing he was not in control. Suddenly, he moved again, rushing toward Natasha with great speed. His shield swung toward her head, but she didn't dodge. She raised her arm and blocked it. The moment the shield hit, her suit absorbed the impact, and a violet glow spread across her body.
Natasha stepped forward and released the stored energy in one punch. The hit landed directly on his chest and sent him flying backward across the runway. He crashed hard but stood up again immediately, without hesitation. Seeing this, Natasha understood he was still under control.
Captain America attacked again, this time more aggressively. He threw multiple strikes one after another, trying to overwhelm her. Natasha stayed calm. She blocked and redirected every attack, absorbing all the force. With each hit she took, her power increased.
Then she moved closer, entering his range where the shield was less effective. Her elbow struck his ribs, releasing a burst of energy that made him stagger. She followed up with a spinning kick that hit his side and pushed him back again. Even then, he kept coming.
Natasha sighed, realizing he wouldn't stop easily. When he charged again with his shield, she caught it mid-attack. Holding it firmly, she released all the stored energy at once. The shockwave sent him flying into the air before he crashed to the ground again.
This time, he struggled to get up. His movements were slower, and the glow in his eyes was weakening. Natasha walked toward him calmly. When he tried one last weak punch, she caught his wrist easily, pulled him forward, and delivered a precise strike to his neck with controlled force.
Captain America collapsed, unconscious. The glow in his eyes disappeared completely.
Natasha exhaled slowly as her suit returned to normal. She looked down at him and said quietly, "Hopefully this removes whatever mind control Loki had on you."
Then she tapped her comms. "Target secured. Captain is down, but alive."
Natasha stayed there for a moment before agents arrived to secure Captain America. After confirming he was stable, she stepped aside and let them handle it.
Meanwhile—
On the helicarrier, Tony was already in the air.
"Yeah, we've got multiple hostiles," Tony said over the comms. "All mind-controlled. Same pattern as before."
Below him, several S.H.I.E.L.D. agents and armed units had turned against the crew. Some were firing at control panels, while others were trying to damage the carrier's systems.
Tony raised his hand.
Repulsor blast.
Boom!
One of the armed agents was knocked back, his weapon destroyed instantly.
"Non-lethal mode," Tony added. "Try not to kill anyone. They're not in control."
"Got it," Clint's voice came through.
On an upper platform, Clint pulled back his bow.
His eyes scanned the deck below.
Three agents.
Moving toward an engine control panel.
He released the arrow.
Thwip!
The arrow landed between them—
And released a shock pulse.
All three dropped instantly, unconscious.
Clint grabbed another arrow.
"Still feels weird shooting our own guys," he muttered.
"Better than letting them bring this thing down," Tony replied.
Across another section—
Frank moved through the corridor like a machine.
Frank moved through the corridor with precise and efficient movements, wasting no energy at all. An agent rushed him from behind, but he reacted instantly. Turning around, he struck once—a clean hit to the neck—and the agent dropped unconscious. Another attacker came from the side, but Frank disarmed him smoothly, twisted his arm, and knocked him out in one motion. Without even pausing, he spoke calmly into the comms, confirming that his section was clear.
Above the helicarrier, Tony hovered in the air as he scanned the situation. Through JARVIS, he learned that multiple hostile clusters were still active, and several of them were heading toward critical systems. Hearing that, Tony let out a tired sigh, already expecting this to drag on longer than planned.
Near the main control deck, Natasha arrived just as Clint finished taking down another group of mind-controlled agents. Clint casually pointed out that she was late, to which Natasha replied that she had been dealing with a bigger problem. When Clint asked about Captain America, she simply said it was handled.
Before they could say anything else, a sudden explosion shook part of the helicarrier. The entire structure vibrated slightly, forcing everyone to look in that direction. Tony's voice came through the comms almost immediately, pointing out that this was something new.
Their attention shifted toward the source of the blast, where a group of controlled agents had gathered near one of the engine sections. Unlike before, they were more organized. At the center of the group stood a man holding advanced weaponry that clearly didn't belong to standard S.H.I.E.L.D. equipment. He was directly attacking the carrier's flight engine systems.
"I can take care of it, but is someone keeping an eye on Loki and Thor?" Tony asked over the comms.
"I'm here," Sharon replied. "And Loki is not in the cage… at least not visibly. I guess he's just hiding. The moment I open the cage, he might rush out, so I'm just waiting here to see how long he can remain hidden."
Sharon spoke calmly as she looked at the seemingly empty glass cell.
Then she spoke again, this time directly toward it.
"You know, we also learned some magic," she said. "I can still sense a mass of magical energy inside the cage—which is you, Loki. So stop the act. I'm not opening it."
For a few seconds, nothing happened.
Then—
The magical presence inside the cage suddenly vanished.
At the same moment, Loki appeared outside the cage, standing a short distance away.
"Are you sure about that?" he asked with a faint smile.
Sharon frowned slightly.
"How?"
"Do you really think that cage can hold me?" Loki replied calmly.
But inwardly, his thoughts were different.
'Thank you for telling me you can sense my energy. Now that I've masked it… let's see if you still refuse to open the cage.'
In reality—
The figure outside was nothing more than a reflection.
Loki was still inside the cage.
