Chapter 8 - Dimension Travel?!

Kuro sat alone at a lunch table, slowly eating his food given to him by the school, with an Impassive expression. He merely watched as students and teachers interacted amongst themselves, blissfully unaware of the cruel reality waiting outside for the inexperienced.

"This is not a drill. I repeat this is not a drill. A B-class gateway has been opened in front of the school. Prepare as much as you can and good luck"

A voice boomed out from the speakers of the academy, sirens began blaring through the building, alerting everyone that a monster stampede was coming. Kuro stood up calmly, along with four other students who were in the cafeteria and immediately they rushed out to the front of the academy.

"I'll handle this, just stay back. All of you."

Kuro exclaimed which earned chuckles from the four but when they saw Kuro begin walking towards the incoming wave of monsters, they laughter died down.

"Flaming Sword Art #7: Solar Flare"

Those words uttered out in a clear and concise manner from Kuro, his tone filled with determination unmatched by any being. His left arm extended out in a grabbing motion, a burst of flames roaring to life in his palm, shaping itself into an outline of a sword yet it was imbued with soul energy.

The four students looked on in awe at Kuro's impressive power, the scorching heat reducing everything in the immediate area to dust. It was as if Kuro was holding the very heat of the sun in his hand.

The forefront of the monster stampede stood no chance and was reduced to ash from a single swing performed by Kuro. A wall of blazing heat now stood between the monsters and Kuro who has yet to let up his assault.

Kuro jabbed forward with the flaming sword constructed of magical energy, a piercing beam followed next, and another line of soldiers were reduced to ash in a torrent of scorching flames.

The monsters took this time to attempt to overwhelm Kuro yet was met with a complete 360 spin and a burst of spiraling flames. This elite display of combat had everyone stunned, wondering if Kuro was hiding his strength all along.

"Flaming Sword Art #8: Solar Ray"

Kuro then angled his arm into the sky and threw the flaming construct into the air at maximum strength, generating a pressure intense enough to produce a shockwave. Kuro and the monsters watched as it tore through a cloud and went even higher, then in a beat of a heart; a thick pillar of flames shot down just as Kuro vanished without a trace.

.

"Flaming Sword Art... quite a unique name for a weapon art."

Oya exclaimed with a taunting smile, observing Kuro battle against the stampede of monster. To her shock, Kuro's first technique wiped out half of the stampede, and the last technique struck like a call from the heaven's. A pillar of fire washed over the rest of the stampede and turned them to dust.

"Now. What will he do about the S-class boss?"

Oya asked with a subtle tilt of her head, the same taunting smile plastered on her delicate face. It was clear that she was enjoying the entire event and wanted it to last even longer.

.

Kuro sighed a breath of relief at finishing the stampede, but his break came to halt when a sinister aura washed over the aura, weighing everything down like a thousand-pound metal ball.

Kuro teeth gritted under the sudden pressure, struggling to turn his head towards the source of the problem. Just a few meters away, a giant constructed of immensely thick tree roots stood overbearingly massive. It's sheer size nearly touched the clouds, and it stood staring down at the city itself.

Kuro stood with a slight chuckle of disbelief. This was his first time witnessing an S-class boss no less a giant. His eyes narrowed and he held his flaming sword tight in his left hand. In his right hand, a swirl of green energy constructed into a sword the same length as the one in his left hand

"Pure Soul Art #2: Duality Ascension"

Kuro body exploded with soul energy in waves, shooting up into the sky to meet the size of the giant and alerting it of Kuro's presence. Its sheer movement of its arm had forced the winds to stir in a violent storm, the giant dagger in its hand piercing through the clouds with its thickness and igniting a flame.

Before the other four students could make a move, the wave of energy settled and revealed a newly transformed Kuro. Instead of his regular jet-black hair, Kuro's hair now adorned the color pink along with his golden eyes. Two feathery white wings unfolded from his back and revealed themselves in all their glory, shedding a few feathers imbued with potent soul energy.

Kuro then leapt upward and with a single flap of his wings, he blurred from physical view. His velocity exceeding the speed of sound, generating a sonic shockwave upon breaking the sound barrier in one motion. Kuro moved so fast he appeared as a streak of pink light, trailing behind him were two streaks of green and crimson respectively.

The three colors that zipped upward into the sky had begun to swirl in a spiral, going faster & faster each time it went higher until the gigantic blade of the massive entity closed in. An immense pressure of air currents rushed forward from the strength, speed, and size of the blade.

"Pure Soul Art #3: Divine Starfall"

Kuro arms swiped forward with both cosmic elemental swords in his hands, generating two thick lines of energy that split the very skies themselves, filling the sky with a storm of cosmic winds and flames.

The thin line of the atmosphere that separated civilization from outer space had been sliced like a sharp blade to paper. Though instead of a vacuum sinking into the planet and ejecting everything out, another world became visible for all across the world to see.

In the next few moments, the gigantic dagger broke in half with a clean slice in the middle section. Kuro's arms were now closing together, merging the two cosmic elemental swords into a one.

"Die beast"

Kuro simply uttered out and with nothing else left to say, his arms swung down in a downward vertical slash. The trailing excess of energy flared brightly and from out the rip within the dimension, asteroids began showering the skies.

Naturally, the height of the giant made it easy for the asteroids to bombard it. Striking rapidly against the beast to the point that it was forced backwards. Though before its foot could touch the ground, Kuro's downward slash sliced clean through the giant.

The slice was so clean that reality could not register therefore it took a few seconds before a thin line of green & reddish energy traveled down the giant vertically and burst into flames of the same color.

All that remained were the burning corpses of monsters littered across the academy, the giant's burning corpse, and Kuro who transformation finally subsided, his stamina depleted which forced his body to freeze up while free falling.
