For Captain Egbert of the Ghost Ship, he could finally give an explanation to the forces that provided him with the ghost ship. It wasn't that he didn't try, but that the enemy was too powerful!
The pirate crew had a total of about four hundred members, and after two rounds of fighting, more than three hundred died!
Early this morning, the first mate of the "Ghost," a Sequence 6 "Necromancer" who led the pirates in their charge, died under the strange weaponry of the "Argo."
Just when he thought that the "Ghost" had already exceeded the range of the "Argo", his intuition suddenly sensed danger and he quickly glanced at the "Argo" through his binoculars.
Just then, we saw the Argo raise the Lingbo Cannon.
Egbert, of course, did not know what kind of weapon it was, but his intuition told him that it was likely the source of his premonition of danger.
Egbert immediately used the ghost ship to summon the "whale spirit," a huge, somewhat ethereal whale that suddenly leaped out of the illusion and devoured the three ships, including the "Ghost."
...
As the Ghost departed, the thick fog that had enveloped Cruise Island quickly dissipated.
Although Press, who remained in the port, did not witness the entire course of the war, he knew that the "Dawnbreaker" pirate ship had won when he saw the "Ghost" and other ships retreating.
Without Odis giving any orders, he quickly organized his men to go to "Lighthouse Hill" for support.
Not long after leaving the port, someone in the group suddenly pointed to the sea and exclaimed, "Look!"
A new weapon appeared on the deck of the Argo.
The weapon, which looked very complex, had two metal rods extending out. The rods gradually became ethereal in the middle, as if the surrounding air was gradually solidifying.
Suddenly, a seemingly illusory yet solid point of light was launched at an extremely fast speed.
Boom!
A huge explosion followed immediately!
Press and the others' pupils contracted as they watched the violent explosion shoot straight into the sky!
That's the direction the "Ghost" is in!
They then realized that no one could possibly survive such a violent explosion!
The shockwave from the explosion dispersed all the fog at sea.
The eastern horizon was already turning white; the sky was beginning to brighten.
It took several seconds for the shockwave to reach the coast of Cruz Island. Even from that distance, Press and the others could clearly feel as if they had been shoved hard.
At this point, they finally realized that the Argo had no intention of letting the Ghost go; it only planned to attack the Ghost after creating some distance between them.
The reason for maintaining a certain distance is simple: the weapon used by the Argo was extremely powerful, and using it at close range could easily result in friendly fire.
After a while, everyone came to their senses and saw the Argo begin to accelerate, speeding toward the Ghost.
...
At this moment, in the cockpit of the "Argo," Odis sat in a large seat, observing the front through binoculars and confirming the results of the battle.
The "whale spirit" that suddenly appeared was torn to pieces by the "spirit wave cannon". Of the two ships following the "ghost", one was completely destroyed and the other was reduced to one-third of its original size.
The Ghost capsized, and a large hole can be seen in its hull, but it did not sink immediately.
Odis immediately ordered: "Advance four! Prepare the 'Spirit-Destroying Cannon'!"
An "extraordinary puppet" quickly replaced the two silver metal rods of the "Spirit Wave Cannon" with two pale white metal rods.
The "Spirit Extinction Cannon" is a weapon modified from the "Spirit Wave Cannon". Although it is not as powerful as the "Spirit Wave Cannon", it is very effective against undead creatures.
This is a weapon that Odis specially "customized" for the ghost ship.
At that moment, a large bronze gate with intricate patterns suddenly appeared on the sea near the "Ghost," and it creaked open as it shook.
Within the crevice lay an endless darkness, from which countless indescribable eyes peered outwards. Simultaneously, a multitude of strange, yet still indistinct, writhing creatures surged wildly towards the crevice.
That's the "Gateway to the Underworld"!
At this moment, many evil spirits and underworld creatures were peeking out, as if they wanted to come out of the door.
Meanwhile, on the Ghost, the souls of the few remaining crew members and sailors, whether dead or alive, were sucked out of their bodies and into the Underworld amidst their unwilling cries.
Meanwhile, Egbert appeared on the hull of the Ghost.
He understood that only by fighting with all his might could he possibly escape.
After the "Gate of the Underworld" was summoned, Egbert released a large number of undead to attack the "Argo".
Meanwhile, under his command, the overturned "Ghost" was rapidly approaching the "Gateway to the Underworld".
Egbert hoped that the spirits of the dead could hold off the Argo, giving him a chance to escape from the underworld.
Every time Egbert enters the underworld, he has to pay a heavy price, but he can't worry about that now. He just wants to escape from here first.
At this moment, the "Argo" was still some distance from the "Ghost". After seeing the "Gate to the Underworld" summoned by Egbert, Odis said, "'Spirit Extinction Cannon', charge up!"
Sizzle~
Unlike the "Spirit Wave Cannon", after the "Spirit Extinction Cannon" is charged, the two extended metal rods turn bone white, and a pale white cylinder appears between them.
The cylinder and the metal rod are aligned in the same direction, making it look like a cannon barrel has suddenly appeared.
"Extraordinary Puppet" reported: "Captain, power charging complete."
As Odis watched as a large number of the dead were released through the "Gate of the Underworld," he ordered, "Aim at the 'Gate of the Underworld,' fire!"
A pale white light shot out, striking directly at the "Gate of the Underworld".
This light was not fleeting, but rather, like the "laser weapon" in Odis's mind, it was constantly being emitted.
It's as if someone drew a white straight line between the "Argo" and the "Gateway to the Underworld".
The evil spirits that rushed out of the "Gates of the Underworld" seemed to have suddenly seen the thing that terrified them the most, and they turned around and ran back.
But they were still a step too slow. The beam of light emitted from the Argo struck the towering Gate of the Underworld in an instant. Wherever the light touched, the undead had no chance to fight back and were instantly crushed into pieces!
To deal with undead at this level, the "Spirit Wave Cannon" doesn't need to hit them directly. As long as they appear within a certain range, they will be subjected to a fierce attack and completely annihilated.
The pale white light struck the "Gate of the Underworld" silently, instantly sending out clusters of pale white light that turned the entire sea white.
At this moment, Egbert looked at the scene before him, his scalp tingling, his eyes filled with fear!
Squeak~ Clang~
The "Gate of the Underworld" first closed on its own, and then, under the attack of the pale white light, it is collapsing!
It fell faster and faster, but halfway down, the "Gate to the Underworld" suddenly became illusory and quickly disappeared from the real world.
Whew~
However, the collapse of the "Gate to the Underworld" still stirred up a violent gust of cold wind!
The gust of wind stirred up shallow waves on the sea, instantly bringing Egbert back to his senses.
When he saw the Argo, he shuddered and decided to abandon ship.
...
Inside the cockpit of the Argo, the Soul Destroyer had entered a rest phase due to continuous firing.
Odis saw through his telescope that Egbert must have used some kind of sealed artifact to fly away from the Ghost.
Egbert was flying very fast, and even the Argo could not catch up with him at this time.
So Odis put on his magical items and went up to the deck. He first used the "flight scroll" to fly in the low sky, and then used the "travel ring" to enter the spirit world to personally kill the "great pirate".
While flying swiftly across the sea, Egbert suddenly felt a spiritual warning again. He looked around and saw a phantom door open not far from him.
Egbert immediately used the power of the magical artifact to create a gust of wind that concealed "wind blades," thus completing the "bribery" process.
As soon as Odis emerged from the spirit world, he used a "defense scroll" to block the "wind blade," but he was still "weakened" by Egbert, and his physical strength and spirituality became weaker.
However, this doesn't affect Odis much, because he mainly uses scrolls and magical items in battle. As long as he retains some spirituality, it won't significantly impact his combat effectiveness.
So, in the instant he was "weakened", Odis used his "imprisonment" ability, followed by a combo of "harvest" and "death".
Egbert couldn't withstand it and was defeated by Odis's "ultimate combo".
In fact, this ending was already destined from the moment he left his "ghost ship".
If he didn't leave the ghost ship, he wouldn't be able to withstand the subsequent attacks from the Argo. However, he could hold out a little longer on the ghost ship.
Odis didn't have time to wait for Egbert's characteristics to be extracted, and directly put the other party's corpse into the "wilderness of knowledge".
He then used "Travel" to arrive above the "Ghost".
The main body of the ship was not damaged, and the previous damage to the hull is slowly healing.
Odis was a little unsure whether he had captured the ghost ship.
Whoosh~
Suddenly, the classic ship flipped itself over and floated on the sea again.
It furled its sails, dropped its anchor, and opened the door to the captain's cabin.
Odis was slightly taken aback: Was this an invitation for me to board the ship?
He checked his own status; the "weakening" effect had disappeared, but the "defense scroll" effect was still active. So he carefully boarded the "Ghost".
Although the ship capsized, the deck is still relatively dry and there is no water accumulation.
The ship had two huge masts, and the cables, ziplines, sails and other equipment on them swayed gently in the breeze, but Odis always felt that they would start moving on their own at any moment.
They can actually move on their own; they were the ones who just furled the sails.
The ship's rudder was located on the deck, an outdated design because it meant that even in a storm, a sailor would have to be on deck to keep watch.
After confirming that no one was left on the ship, Odis strolled to the captain's cabin, where, in addition to some furniture and daily necessities, there was an exquisite jade chair.
It is mostly crystal clear white, with only a small portion being blood-red, even dazzlingly red.
At this moment, Odis's "Eye of Secrets" suddenly opened on its own, his gaze became unusually deep, and everything in the captain's cabin became hazy. All the surrounding furnishings disappeared, leaving only the jade chair.
However, the bright red color on it disappeared, leaving only a beautiful white jade color.
Odis saw several people wearing robes he had never seen before pressing a strong man with his hands bound onto a white jade chair.
Those people wearing strangely styled robes began chanting obscure and difficult-to-understand incantations. Odis quickly discerned that they were the "language of the dead"!
Odis immediately recalled the description of ghost ships given by old man Ilzer. One type of ghost ship was transformed into a ghost ship by performing certain rituals before the "Emperor of the Underworld".
This method is somewhat like a "ghost ship workshop," capable of mass production.
Moreover, the ghost ships they create can cooperate well with humans and possess some "Death God" abilities, or other special abilities.
Odis realized that the "Ghost" was indeed a ghost ship.
The illusory scene before his eyes continued to change. The ceremony began, and the bishop of the Church of Death, dressed in his episcopal robes, chanted incantations and pierced the strong man's body with steel needles.
Amid the man's screams, blood soaked the jade chair.
After that man died, another man was brought in, and they used a steel needle to slowly bleed him.
It's unknown how many people were killed, but the white jade-colored chair has turned blood red.
At this moment, the "Eye of Secrets" shut down on its own, and Odis's vision returned to normal.
Looking at the blood-red stains on the seats before him, Odis deciphered the information he had just received: such a ghost ship required many soul sacrifices.
Moreover, they all require special spirits, one of which must be highly compatible with the ghost ship, so that an ordinary wooden ship can possess a human "ship spirit" before it can be considered a ghost ship.
This is actually quite difficult, because it is unlikely that a human spirit can resonate with a lifeless wooden ship; one can only try their luck by killing some extraordinary beings.
Fortunately, that era had the "War of the Four Emperors," which allowed them to capture some extraordinary individuals from enemy countries for "use."
Then Odis realized that he had to sit in this chair and undergo certain trials in order to finally obtain the ship.
Odis pondered for a moment. Egbert was also a Sequence 6, while the power this ship displayed was probably around Sequence 5. The so-called test shouldn't be too difficult.
Odis glanced outside; it was already getting light, dawn was breaking. He took a deep breath and sat down in his chair.
However, having witnessed the scene just now, he didn't lean back in his chair, but only sat down a little.
The jade seat was cold, causing Odis to shiver involuntarily.
In the blink of an eye, he found himself in a dimly lit room, and the dawn that had just broken outside seemed to be very, very far away from him.
At the same time, around the white jade seat, there appeared a series of incomplete human figures. Some of them were missing limbs, some had missing parts of their torso, and some had missing heads.
Oddi sat up straight immediately, as if he had suddenly found himself amidst a pile of corpses on a brutal battlefield.
They turned toward Odis, watching together the man who had suddenly sat down in the chair.
These gazes felt like staring straight into one's soul, sending chills down one's spine.
Suddenly, these mutilated corpses surrounded Odis, reaching out pale, or skeletal, hands to grab him.
At that moment, Odis felt as if he were about to be buried under a pile of corpses.
Although he was somewhat prepared, he was still a little flustered as he opened the bag to pull out the "Scorching Sun Scroll".
After trying to pull it out twice without success, it finally came out on the third try. Odis felt something was wrong and looked down to find that what he was holding was a pale hand.
Odis took a deep breath and instinctively tried to get up from her seat.
But at the crucial moment, he remained rational and didn't raise his buttocks.
At this moment, pale hands emerged from Odis's bag. The scrolls that had been there turned into hands, and some of them into eyes, staring at Odis with eerie eyes.
Odis knew that it was precisely at times like these that he needed to remain calm.
He took a deep breath, looked away from the eerie eyes, and said in a hoarse voice, "If I become the captain of this ship, I will set you free, so you can return to, or go to, the underworld."
At this moment, Odis felt very strange. Rationally, having already experienced some strange things, he did not feel fear, but his subconscious and body felt extremely terrified.
So his voice trembled, as if a normal person had seen a ghost.
He realized that this must be a manifestation of the "Death" pathway ability.
As soon as Odis finished speaking, the surrounding fragmented figures stopped abruptly, and the hands that had been reaching out from the purse gradually withdrew.
Then the figures parted to make way, and the outline of a face appeared on the wall of the captain's cabin, quickly forming facial features.
The human face opened its mouth and said to the shadowy figure in an ethereal voice, "Have you forgotten the suffering you endured in the underworld?"
"When Death was around, we were trapped on the ship and couldn't go to the underworld."
"After Death fell, the place became even more chaotic and brutal. Anyone who wants to go back can go back."
The figures seemed to recall some terrifying memories; some even trembled, and with a shudder, their facial features and an arm fell to the ground.
It quickly used its remaining hand to pick up its organs and "reinstall" them back in place.
This action startled Odis, and after a moment he looked at the face on the wall: "Are you the ship spirit?"
"Yes." The face opened its mouth and said, "The previous captain is dead, and we need a new captain."
"Please forgive their 'enthusiasm,' because we do not welcome cowardly and brainless captains."
Odis twitched the corner of his mouth: "They are indeed quite enthusiastic."
He paused for a moment and then said, "So, I will be the captain of this ship. You have no objections, right?"
The boat spirit said, "No objections."
Odis said, "I will rarely be on this ship. I will let other crew members take command of the ship, and you must obey their orders."
The ship spirit replied, "No problem."
Odis nodded: "What faction does this ship belong to?"
He was well aware, of course, that the ghost ships that were willing to cooperate with humans were currently mostly in the hands of clandestine organizations.
There should be an organization behind the "Deep Blue" pirate crew.
The ship spirit replied, "We only need a captain; we are not interested in human affairs."
Odis was about to retort: Weren't you human in your previous lives?
However, he ultimately did not say so, lest there be discord between the captain and the "crew".
After becoming captain, Odis was able to leave that strange space on his own.
Back in the real world, Odis's gaze first fell on the leather bag at her waist.
He almost lifted the bag to check if the scroll inside had turned into a pale hand and eerie eyeballs.
However, remembering that the ghost crew members were still watching him, he suppressed the thought and said to the wall in front of him, "Follow the 'Argo' back to port."
Not a single mistake, not a single poem, not a single post, not a single piece of content, not a single look!
Whoosh~
The sails unfurled, and the rudder began to turn on its own, propelling the ship toward the "Argo."
Odis used his "travel" ability to return to the cockpit of the "Argo," commanded the "Extraordinary Puppet" to put away its weapons, and began the return voyage.
On the return journey, Odis returned to her studio and entered the "wilderness of knowledge" through meditation, where Egbert's body was still.
Egbert's extraordinary properties have been revealed, and the magical artifact he used corresponds to Sequence 6 "Windbinder".
Odis took the magical item, which was seized from the "Red Lion" pirate crew and was used to "communicate" with Egbert.
Because the corpse was in the "Wilderness of Knowledge," the spirit has not yet shown any signs of dissipating.
After entering a psychic state, Odis first asked about the potion recipe for the "Lawyer" pathway. To Odis's surprise, Egbert also knew the recipe for Sequence 5 "Chaos Mentor".
Then he asked, "How did you get the 'Ghost'?"
Beside Egbert's body, he saw a somewhat ethereal and bewildered spirit open its mouth as if to say something, but in the end, it said nothing.
Odis paused for a moment, and only after arriving in front of the "Central Simulator" and borrowing the power of the "Wilderness of Knowledge" did he discover that Egbert's spirit actually possessed the power of "guarding secrets".
This is a capability that is only available after the "arbitrator" pathway sequence 6.
Fortunately, Odis can now draw upon some of the power of the "wilderness of knowledge," otherwise it would be difficult to glean any more information.
Using his superior abilities, he bypassed the "secret" ability and asked again, "How did you obtain the 'Ghost Ship'?"
After a moment of struggle, Egbert, looking bewildered, said, "It was given to me by Commander Sieger Baker."
Odis was taken aback: "Who is Sigel Baker?"
"He is the naval commander of the Kingdom of Fenneport at Midway."
Odis smiled helplessly. He guessed that Egbert must belong to some faction, but he did not expect that he was a member of the navy of the Kingdom of Feneport.
It was only then that he realized: no wonder the "Deep Blue" pirate crew would be interested in an iron mine.
Generally speaking, pirates wouldn't be interested in such things; they would only be interested in the iron mine owners and the gold pounds they earned from selling iron ore.
Then he asked, "What tasks did they give you?"
"They frequently operate in the waters of the Roside Islands, plundering merchant ships of the Kingdom of Rune," Egbert's spirit replied.
Odis thought for a moment and then asked, "If the 'Ghost' is captured by someone else, what kind of people will the Fenneport Navy send to search for it?"
Egbert's spirit seemed to ponder for a moment before saying, "They should send at least one flagship and lead a fleet to search for it."
Odis nodded: That means at least one Sequence 5, as well as a battleship and several cruisers, will be sent.
If this Sequence 5 goes missing again, a demigod might have to be sent. Of course, it's possible that a demigod will be sent to solve the problem right away.
Odis wasn't afraid. Most of the "great pirates" had a powerful force secretly supporting them, and he wasn't sure if he would accidentally destroy the wrong pirate group and put himself in an unexpected crisis.
This is precisely the significance of Odis hanging the "Elemental Dawn" banner. He estimated that once the other side learned that the "Argo" was flying the "Elemental Dawn" banner, they would most likely send someone to talk to him, rather than immediately sending a demigod to destroy him.
After a moment's thought, Odis came up with a strategy.
Back in the real world, the Argo has now entered Moon Bay.
On the dock, people cheered to welcome the return of the "Argo". After witnessing the power of the ship, the people of the port town felt a great sense of security.
After Odis disembarked, he inquired about the current situation. Upon learning that Press had taken all the able-bodied men to support "Lighthouse Mountain," Odis instructed everyone to prepare food for the warriors.
He also had five "extraordinary puppets" guard the dock, since the town now consisted only of elderly people, children, and women.
Next, he arrived at "Lighthouse Hill," where the fire was still raging, but Bivis had already organized a team to cut a firebreak.
Upon seeing Pres, Odis berated him harshly, saying, "You idiot with a brain full of donkey piss, who sent you here?"
Pres was taken aback. The people he brought had been of great help here, and not only had they not received any praise, they had even been scolded.
However, after witnessing the power of the "Argo," he showed no temper at all, and even smiled and said, "I just came to see if I could be of any help here?"
Odis stared at the "former mayor": "Didn't you see that a pirate ship sank at the entrance to 'Moon Bay', and at least 10 pirates jumped into the water from that ship?"
"And when you went to bring people to support 'Lighthouse Mountain,' the town was full of old people, women, and children."
Everyone around gasped. Press was also startled; he had no experience in this kind of combat and hadn't considered this point.
He said, slightly flustered, "Shouldn't we go back right away?"
"No need," Odis said. "I have already left guards there."
He paused for a moment and then said, "Pressa Szazo, disobeying orders and deserting his post!"
"Bivis, give him twenty lashes."
More and more people gathered around, and everyone was stunned when they heard about Captain Gal's punishment. They had only ever seen the mayor whip others, but they had never seen the mayor being whipped.
"Yes." Bevis picked up a leather whip from the people around him: "Mr. Press, please take off your shirt and climb up that tree over there."
Pres glanced at Captain Gar's cold eyes and knew that if he dared to resist, he would likely be killed.
He knew very well that the war was over and Captain Garr was now the new mayor.
So the first thing to do is definitely to undermine the authority of the former mayor.
Odis did indeed have such an idea, and since the reason was right in front of him, he might as well take advantage of it.
Press had no choice but to take off his shirt and turn his back to Bivis.
He managed to hold back his cries during the first few lashes, but Bivis understood the captain's intention, and after a few more lashes, Press's back was already torn and bleeding.
Pres could no longer bear it and screamed in agony. Twenty lashes were delivered, and the mayor's previously accumulated authority was almost completely destroyed.
Then Odis said, "Bivis, you take 100 men and search around 'Moon Bay'."
"I will have Bivis and Rupert search 'Moon Bay' from both the north and south, and try to capture all the pirates."
"Presse, you stay here and leave with the others after the fire is extinguished."
After Bivis and his men left, Odis went to inform Bazel and Rupert separately.
They met up near Moon Bay at around 10 a.m.
However, only nine pirates were found; there are probably still a few who haven't been caught.
This is the only group of survivors from the "Deep Blue" pirate crew. None of the pirates who landed at "Lighthouse Hill" survived, and there were no survivors on the two ships that evacuated with the "Ghost".
Odis, who was leisurely drinking in a chair in front of the bar, asked Bazel to bring the pirates over.
The pirates dared not raise their heads when they saw Odis.
What happened in the early morning was truly shocking to them; their ship was like paper, engulfed in flames in a very short time.
Fortunately, they were in the nearby waters and could swim to Cruise Island, but when they got to the beach, they saw an even more amazing scene.
Half of "Lighthouse Hill" was ablaze, and the screams of the pirates attacking it made them regret ever setting sail.
So when Bivis and his men were searching, they didn't put up any resistance and surrendered immediately.
At this moment, the former sheriff, Tom, asked from the side, "Mayor, should we kill these nine people as well?"
Mayor Gar had previously stated that no prisoners were needed.
Odis replied, "No, they still have some use."
Then he asked the nine people, "Which of you speaks the language of the Kingdom of Feneport?"
They assumed the captain needed a translator, so the four pirates who spoke Feneport quickly volunteered, proving their usefulness by speaking fluent Feneport.
The "Deep Blue" pirate crew frequently traveled between the central route and the Roside Islands in the east, so some of their crew members were Fennepots.
The other five men trembled with fear, terrified that the captain would order their execution.
Odis nodded and asked the remaining five people, "Do you speak Rune?"
The five people quickly looked up and said repeatedly, "Yes, yes, yes."
"Then I will send you to Bayam," Odis continued. "And the four of you who speak Fennepot, I will send you to Midway."
"I command you to go to the tavern there and tell the patrons there the whole story of how the 'Deep Blue' pirate crew was destroyed."
All nine people were stunned, but after hearing that they could survive, they were first overjoyed, but then they couldn't understand what the captain wanted to do.
One of the pirates quickly said, "We will never reveal anything about this place!"
"You bastards!" Odis exclaimed, "I told you to go and say it, so go and say it!"
Seeing that these people still didn't get it, Odis had no choice but to say, "If I want to be a 'pirate general,' of course I need some achievements."
The nine people then understood and promised to tell everyone what had happened here.
Even without Odis's orders, as long as they could return alive, they would certainly spread the word about what had happened here.
Odis then smiled and nodded.
This was his response: the four men who went to Midway were there to inform the Fenneport Navy that they had captured the Ghost and were flying the Elemental Dawn flag, so as to prevent them from sending too powerful an opponent right away.
The five people who went to Bayam were there to "inform" the Rune Navy. Odis believed that they should know more or less about the background of the "Deep Blue" pirate group, and they would most likely take some action, at least to investigate what was going on.
As long as they take any action, Odis can use the situation as a pretext to exert pressure on the Fenneport Navy in a second round of deterrence.
If that's not enough, then we'll have to ask the Church of the Goddess of Night to step in.
It was only at this moment that Odis realized he had many ways to deal with this matter.
After giving his instructions, Odis ordered his men to knock the nine men unconscious, and then he commanded them to be carried to the tavern's warehouse.
Without anyone watching, Odis used "travel" to send them away one by one.
First, they sent five of them to Bayam, and then they sent the other four.
Midway is an important island on the central shipping route. The Kingdom of Fenneport has been operating here for a long time and has established a sizable colonial city here.
Cruz Island is located quite far from both shipping routes, but closer to the central route; otherwise, the Fenneport Navy wouldn't have bothered with the iron ore.
Odis didn't have time to wander around here today. After dropping the person off, he only glanced at the colonial city from afar before returning to Cruz Island.
The battle to defend the island has been won, and the "Deep Blue" pirate crew has been almost completely wiped out. The next step is to clean up the battlefield and reclaim the spoils.
Around noon, a rainstorm began, and the fire at "Lighthouse Hill" was completely extinguished.
The rain on the sea comes and goes quickly; around 2 p.m., a rainbow appeared on the horizon.
Meanwhile, the work of recovering the spoils of war began.
Odis did not involve the inhabitants of Crus Island in this work, but only his own crew and "extraordinary puppets" to complete it.
Bazel leads 15 "extraordinary puppets" to "Lighthouse Hill" to retrieve the spoils of war.
Rupert pilots the Argo, leading 10 Extraordinary Puppets, to the location where the Ghost was bombarded by the Annihilation Cannon to retrieve the spoils.
Bivis led the rest of the crew, along with 10 "extraordinary puppets," to the offshore waters outside "Moon Bay" to retrieve the spoils.
Around dusk, the three teams that had collected the spoils returned one after another.
The town's residents had prepared roasted lamb, roasted chicken, roasted fish, and other food to treat them at the restaurant. The navigators, including Yi Lai Zhe, also disembarked to join the celebratory dinner.
The town was unusually lively today, with many people drinking and celebrating outside their homes on the streets and alleys.
Before today, they could never have imagined that they would be able to destroy the "Deep Blue" pirate ship.
In the restaurant, Odis raised his glass to all the crew members at the table and said, "Let us raise a glass together to celebrate this victory."
Everyone's faces were beaming with smiles as they raised their glasses in unison.
After having a drink together, Odis said seriously, "Before we celebrate, let's talk about how to divide the spoils."
"First, let me explain the rules for dividing the spoils. In future battles, regardless of whether you encounter spoils that you need, you must hand them over first, and then I will distribute them in a unified manner."
"The principle of distribution is to distribute according to everyone's contribution in the battle."
"In addition, the spoils of war may not all be things that everyone needs. You can also exchange your contributions for merit points and then exchange them with me for things you really need."
Everyone nodded slowly. This was similar to the distribution mechanism of most extraordinary organizations, so no one had any objections.
"Let me explain the distribution of the gold pounds," Odis said. "This time we should be able to get a bounty of around eight thousand pounds. The navigator trainees who stay behind will each receive 50 pounds, and Mr. Ilzer will receive 100 pounds."
The reason there is only such a small bounty is that many pirates with bounties have been burned or sunk to the bottom of the sea, and there is no way to find anything that can prove their identity.
Yi Lai Zhe was about to decline, because he had said when he boarded the ship that he did not want any spoils of war.
Odis, however, spoke first: "This is a bonus, not spoils of war."
With Ilya Zhe guarding the ship, Odis felt at ease, so when preparing to divide the spoils, he planned to give them some bonuses.
"Combat Captain Cleveland, Boatswain Salina, Crewman Noy, and Trainee Boris also performed very well in this battle," Odis said. "Each of you will receive a bonus of 300 pounds."
"Second Officer Rupert and Third Officer Bevis, your bonus is £500 each, and the First Officer's bonus is £800."
Salina and the other new crew members immediately beamed with joy. They hadn't expected to receive such a large bonus so soon after joining "Dawnbreaker."
They all marveled at the captain's generosity, as he distributed most of the gold pounds to the crew.
Odis is being so generous because he will gain most of the characteristics and sealed artifacts from this battle through the "conversion" of his merits.
He continued, "In addition to the bonus, I have prepared items that you can exchange for each of you based on the merits you have earned."
