Chapter 276 - Chapter 275 The Fall of the Night Emperor

The hermit's words made all the members pause for a moment before they wondered if they had misheard.

Alger the Hanged Man: Was the Night King killed by the combined attack of the six gods? This...

"The Fool" Klein was also quite surprised: Didn't the Six Gods support the Ternsost Empire? Why would they suddenly besiege "Night Emperor"?

The priestess, Cattleya, sighed: The six gods are indeed the key to the "Battle of the Four Emperors". In the previous battles, the "Night Emperor" had successfully defeated the "Black Emperor" and the "Blood Emperor", but he was still no match for the six gods... He was definitely no match for them.

She was a little puzzled; what had caused the two sides to turn against each other?

He then bluntly asked, "'The Hermit,' why did Liu Shen do this?"

"I have received two pieces of information regarding this matter," Odis said. "I cannot determine which specific reason it is, or rather, I have no way of determining which specific reason is the main reason."

The other members sat up straight and listened quietly to the "hermit's" narration.

"The first reason is that the 'Night Emperor' was attacked by the six gods because he was corrupted by the evil god," Odis continued. "There is evidence that the 'Night Emperor' was corrupted by the evil god."

"This was analyzed from a sealed artifact that formed after the fall of the 'Night Emperor,' which is said to have been contaminated by an unknown source."

"That's why we speculate that the 'Night Emperor' was contaminated, which is why the sealed artifact is contaminated."

Cattleya then asked, "What kind of sealed artifact is it?"

"I'm not entirely sure either," Odis said. "I only know that it's currently in the hands of the Church of the God of War."

It is actually the "Brass Book of Trensus", but Odis does not intend to explain it too clearly here, because this is enough.

Moreover, it's more reasonable to present such high-level intelligence vaguely.

Cattleya nodded slowly, not asking any further questions. She was well aware that the abilities of such sealed artifacts were top secrets within the major churches, and it was already quite remarkable that she knew they were within the Church of the God of War.

Odis continued, "The second reason is said to be that the six gods did not allow the 'Night Emperor' to become stronger, fearing that He would lose control. Therefore, they joined forces to besiege the 'Night Emperor,' which led to the collapse of the Terensost Empire."

He took a deep breath and said, "It's hard to say which is the main reason. I personally think that both are involved."

"When we were talking about the Tamara family earlier, I mentioned that 'Night Emperor' had contacted a certain evil god."

"That evil god is like the 'Primordial Moon,' an evil deity lurking in the starry sky. It is very likely that the 'Night Emperor' was corrupted during this process of communication."

"Later, while exploring a Quaternary site, I found relevant evidence that confirmed that the 'Night Emperor' had been contaminated by some unknown contamination."

The ruins Odis mentioned were the "Secret Chamber of Trensost" that she had explored with Bernadette.

He strongly suspected that the Night Emperor was likely using the Uncertain Mist, or even the corruption of this Outer God, to search for the "Land of Chaos".

After all, the source matter has been sealed, and it requires some special means to find and obtain the "Disordered Kingdom".

Judging from the fact that the "Bronze Book of Trensost" is contaminated with the "Land of Chaos," it is very likely that the "Night Emperor" has found the "Land of Chaos" and is already preparing to become the Old One.

The contamination of the "Land of Chaos" on that sealed artifact is contamination to others, but not necessarily to "Night Emperor" Ternsost.

After a slight pause, Odis continued, "As for the second reason, it certainly exists as well. The six gods simply need a ruler to help them manage worldly affairs."

"After all, for a society or a civilization to develop, the power of faith alone is not enough; it also needs a ruler to lead them in their development."

"The church not only cannot handle these matters well, but it is also prone to having some adverse effects."

"The better the development of secular civilization and the more stable society is, the better it is for the state of the gods."

"But Trensust was clearly willing to accept the rule of the Six Gods at the beginning and to cooperate deeply with them, but ultimately he was unwilling to remain the Six Gods' puppet."

"He allied himself with vampires to strengthen his power and strived to become even stronger, but this process angered the six gods."

"Therefore, the six gods besieged Trensost on the grounds that it had been corrupted."

"With this, the three emperors fell one after another, and the era of the 'War of the Four Emperors' came to an end."

Audrey immediately felt a strong sense of the times and destiny, as if she were seeing a torrent rolling forward.

Alger then thought: Thus, the Six Gods regained control of the entire Northern Continent, a control that continues to this day.

Suddenly, he thought: Could it be that the "God of Steam and Machinery" has officially transformed from a family leader into a deity due to the changes of this era?

Klein also realized that the fall of the Night Emperor involved the issue of dividing up the Northern Continent. It was truly a pity; the Night Emperor had clearly achieved a partial victory in the War of the Four Emperors, but the spoils of victory were divided among the Six Gods.

This also made him deeply realize that even gods have it tough, or rather, even at the level of gods, one still needs to be extremely careful. If one inadvertently incurs the wrath of the masses and is besieged by the gods, one's demise is only a matter of moments.

Seeing that no one had any other questions, Odis said, "The above is the intelligence about the Terensost Empire."

Everyone was still savoring the information they had just received. Emlyn, the "Moon," thought to himself: No wonder the information about the Tronsus Empire cost 4,000 pounds. It turns out that to explain this empire, we must provide a unified explanation of the extraordinary power of the "War of the Four Emperors" era.

After this round of transactions, even members like "The Magician" Fors and "The Sun" Derrick gained a very deep understanding of the history of the Quaternary Period.

It took about ten seconds for the other members to come to their senses.

Seeing that no one spoke, Derrick said, "'The Hermit', I still need six extraordinary weapons this week: three 'Ice Bombs' and three 'Thunderstorm Bombs'."

Odis thought for a moment and realized that he already had "stock" of these weapons, so he didn't recommend his scrolls to Derrick for the time being.

After acquiring the scroll, Odis stopped using his previous one-time extraordinary weapons much, and Derrick's needs provided a good opportunity to clear out his inventory.

So Odis said, "At the last Tarot meeting, I still owed you 30 pounds. This time you spent 400 pounds on intelligence and 300 pounds on weapons. So now you owe me 670 pounds."

"This time I need 10 extraordinary materials of Sequence 9, or 5 materials of Sequence 8. If that happens, I'll owe you another 30 pounds."

Currently, both the intelligence exchange meetings and the mystical exchange meetings have established a fixed demand for extraordinary materials.

Odis currently only has 6 materials left, which means she can convert them into cash very quickly.

Ten pieces of material still posed no challenge for Derrick: "No problem."

The two completed the transaction, and the transaction process ended there, allowing them to move on to the free exchange phase.

As Fors was organizing her thoughts to recount her shared exploration with the "Hermit," Derrick spoke first: "Elder Lovia has been released; I met her in the library."

"Justice" Audrey recalled for a moment: "Elder Lovia? That 'Shepherd'?"

"Yes." Derrick replied, then turned to the "Hanged Man" beside him: "Mr. Hanged Man, does this mean that I inadvertently made a wrong decision, making the Council of Six realize that I posed a certain threat, which is why they released Elder Lovia?"

Alger thought for a moment, then suddenly asked, "Has your chief already returned to Silver City?"

During a previous gathering, "Little Sun" mentioned in the discussion that the chief had led the team to begin a new round of exploration.

When Audrey heard the "Hanged Man" ask this question, she suddenly realized: Yes, releasing such an important person, the members of the Council of Six who remained would not wait for the Chief to return.

Since Silver City hoped to find a balance between Elder Lovia and 'Little Sun', and if the Chief did not return, they made the decision to release Elder Lovia at this time, which means that they believed that the matter of 'Little Sun' was too serious for them to wait for the Chief.

If the Chief has already returned before making this decision, then there is a significant probability that releasing Lovia is related to his findings.

Finally, Audrey sighed inwardly: How could I not have thought of that? Audrey, you still lack experience…

Derrick was somewhat surprised by Mr. Hanged Man's accurate guess: "Yes, the Chief is back, just recently."

Alger, the "Hanged Man," smiled but did not immediately offer further analysis.

Derrick seemed to realize something after being reminded by the "Hanged Man".

Just then, Fors, who had been quietly listening in, suddenly had an idea based on the information he had gathered earlier: "Mr. Sun, could it be that this is the case?"

"Your leader, along with the exploration team and that little boy Jack, went to find the path to the outside world, only to discover that it required the power of the 'True Creator'."

"Hehe, this is not something I made up, but a deduction based on facts. The little boy Jack's father belongs to the 'Aurora Society,' and they came to your place in search of the sanctuary of the 'True Creator.'"

"Your chief decided to release 'Shepherd' Lovia in order to find a way to the outside world as soon as possible, not because of you."

Derrick listened and became more and more convinced that it made sense. In the end, when he saw that Mr. "The Hanged Man" had nothing to say or add anything, he concluded that Mr. "The Hanged Man" also agreed with Miss "The Magician's" opinion.

So "Little Sun" thanked her, saying, "Miss Magician, your analysis has helped me understand many things."

Audrey said with some concern, "If that's the case, won't Mr. 'Sun' be in danger?"

Only then did Alger smile and say, "No, it's actually safer."

Derrick, Audrey, and Fors thought for a moment, then nodded in agreement, all understanding the meaning of "The Hanged Man".

Because Cattleya did not know the full picture, she did not offer any opinion.

Only Emlyn, the "Moon," who had just roughly grasped the situation, asked, "Why?"

Alger thought for a moment before answering, "Balance."

Emlyn said "Oh," but everyone could tell he still didn't quite understand.

Seeing that no one continued to speak, Fors said, "Let me share what my exploration with Mr. 'The Hermit' last week was like."

Audrey slowly turned to face the "magician," a prospect she had been eagerly anticipating.

"Before the exploration began, I only learned from Mr. 'The Hermit' that the ruins were related to the Abraham family," Fors said. "When we arrived on the island, we found that someone had already arrived before us…"

Because of her frequent novel writing, Fors is a great storyteller; just the part about eavesdropping on conversations is enough to make the other members feel thrilled and excited.

When the priestess Cattleya heard the words written in the ancient giant script on the high wall, she immediately had a question. So, taking advantage of the magician's pause, she asked, "Who is the 'sage' mentioned in that passage?"

This made Gadriya wonder: Could it be the "Hidden Sage"?

Klein also noticed this "sage," but according to his memory, he did not recall such a person existing.

Fors was taken aback by the question and immediately looked at the "Hermit".

"The Hermit" Odis said, "This is the first time I've ever seen such a description."

Cattleya nodded, somewhat disappointed.

As Miss "Magician" continued her description, everyone marveled at the wisdom and decisiveness displayed by the "Hermit" during the exploration.

When they heard that he had hidden in the ruins to "become invisible," then ambushed the enemy's weakest point and pretended to leave the ruins, everyone was already very impressed.

Later, when he heard that "The Hermit" had taken the opportunity to enter the warehouse, realized the danger during the enemy's conversation, and quietly opened the secret room, even Klein felt that this kind of resourcefulness was rare.

Cattleya, however, noticed that the "hermit" made his judgment based on his extensive knowledge and found the optimal solution.

She thought: This must be the rich knowledge and experience accumulated by the "hermit" through constant exploration, as well as the reaction he has developed.

This also explains why a large part of the information the "Hermit" obtained came from his explorations.

Then Cattleya exclaimed: "We escaped from the side of two demigods!"

She unconsciously put herself in that situation and realized that she simply couldn't do it.

If she discovers that her opponent is too strong, she might simply stop her exploration and choose to leave immediately.

Of the other members, Audrey was the most excited: This is an adventure on the high seas! Mr. Hermit used clever means to not only kill three enemies, but also obtain many treasures from the warehouse.

What's most admirable is the way they escaped that space, which even exceeded the expectations of the two demigods.

Audrey also longed to take such an adventure, even though it was indeed very dangerous and one wrong step could have serious consequences, she was eager to try it.

While daydreaming, she also sketched a mental picture of herself: My life has always been too stable, which makes me like stability while also irresistibly looking forward to an adventure with controllable risks.

Emlyn remarked that although Miss "Magician" didn't specify what they had found, there must have been many good things to discover in such untouched ruins.

Alger, the "Hanged Man," pondered for a moment and asked, "The Gnostic's main purpose in exploring this ruin seems to be to find the person buried by the skeleton?"

"I think so too," Odis said. "And later the 'Saintess' of the 'Witch Cult' also went, which shows that this matter was very important to them."

"During their conversation, they mentioned that the 'Witch Cult' had recently found a crucial clue in a batch of documents from the Southern Continent, which prompted them to search for the relevant information and initiate corresponding actions..."

Klein was slightly taken aback upon hearing this: information from the Southern Continent? Could it be the batch of information that was copied for Mr. Azik?

In fact, the matter of this batch of documents originated from Klein.

He learned from one of the souls in "Crawling Hunger" that "Hurricane Admiral" Zilingus had once seized a batch of documents unearthed in the Southern Continent.

Klein believed that the documents were currently in the hands of "Admiral Disease," who had taken over the Zilingus fleet, which is why he planned to disguise himself and assassinate "Admiral Disease."

The assassination attempt failed, and Klein asked Mr. Azik, a big shot, to come forward and retrieve the information. However, he encountered an "ageless witch" who was also an old acquaintance of Mr. Azik.

The "ageless witch" promised to make a copy of the information and give it to Mr. Azik.

It seems that while the document was being copied, the "Witch Cult" also examined the document and obtained some key clues.

Klein took a deep breath, never expecting that there would be so many follow-ups regarding the information about the Southern Continent.

Odis didn't look at "the world" or "the Fool," but continued, "I've been speculating for a long time, but I haven't come up with any clues. However, now that we know about this, we can keep an eye on the actions of the 'Witch Cult' and the 'Gnostic Society'."

"If any clues are found, they can be provided to the church."

The other members nodded in agreement, but Cattleya almost blurted out: "Provide it to the church?"

In her view, the "Tarot Club" is definitely a newly emerging secretive organization, and the background of the "Hermit" is also very mysterious, so it should also belong to a mysterious organization.

The sudden suggestion to report the clues to the church made Cattleya feel both amused and enlightened, realizing that sometimes it was possible to make use of the official Extraordinary organization.

Klein noticed something else important, and he manipulated "The World" to ask "The Hermit": "Have you cracked the 'teleportation array'?"

Only after being reminded did the other members suddenly remember that the "Hermit" had been researching the magic array.

Perhaps his most important goal was to find that magic circle.

They sat up straight one by one and looked at the "hermit".

That's the legendary "teleportation array"! If it could be broken...

They could even see that the "hermits" controlled a great deal of wealth and resources.

"It's basically cracked," Odis said with a smile. "However, this magic circle is very special; simply cracking the magic circle is not enough."

He didn't go into too much detail: "There are many stringent conditions that make it impossible to set up this magic array however you want."

He actually cracked it!

Alger thought to himself: Even with the most demanding conditions, it's worth investing time and money... No, it's easy to attract the attention of powerful beings or secret organizations. The safest course of action is to join a righteous church.

He was about to remind the "hermit" when he realized that the "hermit" couldn't possibly be unaware of this.

At this moment, "Little Sun" asked, "'Hermit', can Silver City use that 'teleportation array'?"

"I don't think it will work," Odis said. "The barrier between the 'Forsaken Land' and the normal world may not be something that a 'teleportation array' can overcome."

"Little Sun" nodded somewhat disappointedly.

After chatting for a few more minutes, and with no one initiating a new topic, Klein announced that the tarot session was over.

Back in the captain's cabin, Odis stared at the ceiling for a while, reflecting on the tarot session she had just attended.

Then Odis went to the cockpit and asked the navigator cadet on duty to confirm that the "Deep Blue" pirate crew had not launched an attack.

So Odis returned to the workshop, set up the altar, and first offered the six extraordinary weapons to Mr. Fool.

About ten minutes later, Odis received a notification from "The Fool" that he had received the cash and extraordinary materials he had earned from the Tarot gathering.

Odis made a lot of money at the Tarot meeting this time, with two intelligence transactions, a total of 4,600 pounds in cash, and 10 extraordinary materials.

Looking at the stacks of cash, Odis thought to himself: My luck with money has been pretty good lately!

Not only did they make a fortune during their previous explorations, but they also earned a lot from eliminating the "Red Lion" pirate crew. This time, the Tarot Club earned them another four thousand pounds.

After putting away the money and the extraordinary materials, Odis rested for a while and then took out the blueprints of Cruz Island to look at.

He estimated that the decisive battle would break out tonight, and he had even chosen the location for Egbert.

The only uncertainty now might be that ghost ship.

Odis was unsure what exactly the ghost ship's capabilities were, and whether the "Spirit Wave Cannon" could take it down.

He stretched, thinking that even if he couldn't destroy the ghost ship, forcing it to retreat wouldn't be a problem.

Since we have too few clues to make an accurate judgment, we might as well stop thinking about it, relax, and prepare for the upcoming decisive battle.

Not a single mistake, not a single poem, not a single post, not a single piece of content, not a single look!

Even after nightfall, the thick fog still hadn't dissipated.

Odis ordered the Argo to be sailed into Moon Bay.

Press and the others found this action somewhat strange.

Didn't they say before that anyone who sails into Moon Bay is asking for death? How come Captain Gal still sailed in?

However, they certainly didn't dare to ask, and after watching for a while at the dock, they went back.

In the thick fog of the night, the crew of the "Dawn Sword" pirate crew were quite excited, as this was the first time most of them had participated in such a large-scale battle.

Their Captain Garr had already surprised them with his extraordinary machine guns and mortars, and they had heard that the weapons on the Argo were even more powerful, so they all wanted to see them for themselves.

But even after 10 p.m., the enemy's attack still hadn't begun.

Odis then went to each position to give orders, instructing everyone to take turns resting, but to remain vigilant.

At midnight, the port town, which had been preparing for a decisive battle, gradually quieted down.

Many people thought the pirates might not come today, so they all went home to rest.

Odis also rested for a while, but because she had something on her mind, she woke up every half hour or so.

Around four in the morning, Odis woke up and went straight to the driver's seat, staring blankly at the fog that had grown even thicker outside.

Now, it has become a battle of patience.

In reality, wars often come down to who has more patience.

Thump thump thump~

Suddenly, a burst of cannon fire rang out from the sea.

Before the navigator apprentice on duty could react, Odis had already jumped up: "Turn the protection up to the maximum!"

The "extraordinary puppet" in the driver's cab pushes the corresponding control lever to the highest position.

At that moment, a dozen shells landed in the water near the Argo, creating splashes.

Odis smiled slightly; the enemy's attack had finally begun.

The sudden sound of cannon fire seemed to awaken the entire Cruz Island.

The townspeople quickly grabbed their weapons and went outside, only to find the "Argo" in Moon Bay being bombarded by artillery shells from the sea.

In the early hours of the morning, when the fog was at its thickest, it was impossible to even see where the ships were on the sea.

But the other party seems to be able to see the Argo in Moon Bay.

Everyone was on tenterhooks, fearing that the ship of "Dawnbreaker" would be sunk.

Then, the second round of cannon fire began. After the first round of test firing, the second round of shelling was relatively accurate, with seven or eight shells hitting the Argo.

Exclamations immediately erupted from the dock, and some people even prepared to flee for their lives.

But at this moment, everyone witnessed an astonishing scene: around the "Argo" there seemed to be a transparent, curved wall that was normally invisible, but became visible when it blocked shells.

Because the shells exploded suddenly, the resulting flashes spread out in an arc.

Everyone breathed a sigh of relief, and many people were already saying that since Captain Gard had anchored his ship in Moon Bay, he must not be afraid of the enemy's cannons.

Just then, the Argo finally raised its anchor, but showed no sign of starting.

The booming sound of cannons rang out again on the sea, this time with even more cannons participating in the bombardment, sounding like there were dozens.

This once again shocked the people on the dock; no one spoke, and they just stared at the sea.

After the third round of shelling, they heard screams and flashes of light coming from the direction of "Lighthouse Hill".

It was only then that people realized that many of the shells from the third round of shelling had hit "Lighthouse Hill".

...

"Lighthouse Hill" was the battlefield where the two sides fought their final battle.

Egbert launched a probing attack yesterday. Although he did not attack this place, the number of troops defending the north and south indicated that the defenses here must be very weak.

Therefore, he also chose this place as the battlefield for the final battle.

Egbert made this decision because he was unaware of how powerful the Argo's firepower was.

However, at this time, the Argo still did not retaliate, but quietly stayed in Moon Bay as a target.

The defense of "Lighthouse Hill" was led by Third Mate Bivis, while the main force of this defensive line consisted of the residents of the port town and their servants, who were of poor combat ability.

Under Odis's arrangement, almost all the older council members were here.

The reason given for having these council members stationed here was that they were getting old, and since this place was close to the town, there was no need for them to travel a long way to the north of the island.

During the probing attack the night before last, Egbert did not attack this place. They all thought that no one would attack it, since landing here would require climbing a mountain, which was very inconvenient.

They were suddenly awakened by the shells, and after a moment of shock, they were relieved to find that they were mostly on the mountaintop.

The enemy's bombardment mainly targeted the foot and middle of the mountain.

Soon, the people stationed here discovered that something seemed to be stirring up the thick fog on the sea.

They strained to see, and finally realized that they were small boats!

The small boat was full of pirates, and under the cover of cannon fire, they were quietly and quickly landing!

In their view, it was a terrifying scene.

The pirates, who had always been known for their rudeness and loud shouting, were suddenly sitting quietly on the ship and rowing it very fast in perfect harmony.

Glug~

Small boats rushed onto the beach, and the combat captains and boatswains shouted orders to their crews to launch an attack.

Within a minute or two, a dozen small boats arrived, and about two hundred people landed on the vast beach.

Although there were two hundred soldiers guarding "Lighthouse Hill", two hundred vicious pirates landed on the beach!

Before the battle began, the garrison were residents of the town, a large portion of whom were servants armed with melee weapons and serving the town's inhabitants.

Their first thought upon seeing the pirates land was to run!

It wasn't that they were unwilling to fire, but rather that the weapons they carried were mostly revolvers, which were ineffective against the enemy.

The pirates, on the other hand, generally had weapons such as long spears, short spears, and short swords, and they could attack the defenders as soon as they reached the middle of the mountain.

Bivis did not stop their rout; according to Captain Garr's plan, the more chaotic their escape, the better.

Thump thump thump~

After the pirates landed with little resistance, the bombardment began to extend, soon reaching the top of "Lighthouse Hill".

The shells exploded right next to Bivis and the others, and cries and screams filled the mountaintop.

Bivis held a "defense scroll" in his hand, but he hadn't used it yet, only planning to use it in the most dangerous situation.

As he retreated, he observed the pirates' offensive.

As the shelling continued, the lighthouse was the first to collapse, and those who were a little slower to run were immediately blown away and killed.

Even the elderly council members were walking briskly, as if they had suddenly become more than ten years younger.

They quickly retreated from the hilltop, and Bivis, who was at the back, noticed that the pirates had already reached the mountainside.

So he took out his whistle and blew it loudly.

A crisp whistle pierced through the thick fog and cut across the sea.

At that moment, Egbert, who was on the Ghost and observing the occupied ship through his binoculars, heard the whistle and suddenly had a bad feeling.

On the docks in the harbor, many people also heard the whistle, but they didn't know what it meant.

However, it was soon discovered that the Argo had started to move. Even though the sails were still firmly tied to the mast, the ship was moving!

Egbert noticed this as well, and he breathed a slight sigh of relief, then gave the order: "All ships turn around and begin firing on the 'Argo'!"

After learning that the "Argo" had entered "Moon Bay," he knew that the ship was not simple, or that the "Dawn Sword" pirate crew must have some kind of scheme.

At this moment, the "Argo" started moving, and he knew that the "Dawn Sword" pirate crew's operation had begun.

But Egbert was not worried, because they had four ships, one of which was already blocking the outside of Moon Bay, and the other three only needed to turn around slightly, and the Argo would soon be able to enter the range of their cannons on its own.

Even with the Argo's "extraordinary shield" protection, it couldn't withstand several rounds of shelling from dozens of cannons.

But then, Egbert witnessed a surprising scene: the Argo began to retaliate.

Bang bang bang bang bang~

The bow cannons fired a barrage of shells, forming a fiery serpent that pierced through the fog and accurately struck the pirate ship blocking the "Moon Bay."

The large pirate ship was immediately engulfed in flames, screams filled the air, and many people, their bodies ablaze, jumped into the sea.

As Egbert held the binoculars, his breathing became increasingly heavy. In just four or five seconds, the large ship had lost all its fighting capacity, and the sailors and crew who were slower to jump overboard had perished in the flames.

Meanwhile, the Argo was rushing out of the port at an astonishing speed.

"Fire!" Egbert immediately gave the order, and then he felt his palms were covered in cold sweat.

Thump thump thump thump~

Three ships, including the Ghost, fired together toward Moon Bay, but the barrage was still blocked by the Argo's Extraordinary Shield.

The small Argo sailed out of the harbor and headed toward the pirate ship that was several times larger and blocking the way outside Moon Bay.

Just as it rushed close to the pirate ship, a phantom pure white cone-shaped shield suddenly appeared on the bow of the "Argo".

At first, Egbert thought he was seeing things, but when he saw the cone-shaped object pierce the burning pirate ship first...

He immediately realized that it was the weapon the "Argo" used for ramming.

Whoosh~

The Argo crashed into the pirate ship in front of it, breaking it in two, and then charged straight out of Moon Bay, heading towards the Ghost and other ships.

Egbert took a deep breath and communicated with the "Ghost" spiritually, activating the ghost ship's "extraordinary shield."

This ghost ship gives Egbert confidence.

However, he soon noticed that the Argo was simply heading in his direction without retaliating.

Just as Egbert was wondering what was going on, he saw the bow and stern turrets of the "Argo" begin to adjust their positions.

Once the enemy had finally secured their firing position, Egbert broke out in a cold sweat: "Retreat! Quick, get everyone back!"

But it was too late.

Bang bang bang bang bang~

The bow and stern cannons of the "Argo" fired simultaneously!

Launch towards "Lighthouse Mountain"!

The pirates at the forefront had just reached the top of "Lighthouse Mountain" and looked back to see a magnificent view.

On the fog-shrouded sea, two fiery serpents spewed forth, churning the fog and turning it orange.

A series of bright spots were reflected on the sea surface, like pearls strung together.

However, this was the last view they would ever see.

The next second, the fireballs exploded on the mountaintop, engulfing the area in flames, and heart-wrenching screams seemed to echo throughout the entire Cruz Island.

The island's inhabitants trembled upon hearing this, unable to understand why the battle had suddenly become so brutal.

The Argo's bombardment did not stop. Only after the seaward side of Lighthouse Hill was completely engulfed in flames did the two Extraordinary Machine Guns enter a rest phase.

The thick fog thinned considerably under the scorching heat of the fire.

On the dock, the people who were anxiously waiting for the results gradually realized that there were four ships in the near sea.

The bombardment from the Argo has ended, and the fire on Lighthouse Hill is raging.

The three pirate ships, including the Ghost, remained silent, as if they were merely observing the battle rather than participating in it.

Surprisingly, despite the raging fire on the mountain, some people survived and even rushed down the mountain, attempting to jump into the sea.

At that moment, the "rat-a-tat" sound of the "extraordinary machine gun" rang out on the "Argo".

Under the machine gun fire and bursts, the men who were running wildly through the flames fell one after another.

Immediately afterwards, a hole suddenly appeared in the fire, and a huge evil spirit that could only be seen with "spiritual vision" emerged there.

That was the first mate of the "Ghost," who summoned a spirit to help contain the fire.

Suddenly, a silver-white ball of electricity shot out from the Argo. The ball exploded, tearing the evil spirit to shreds, and the first mate was also seriously injured.

Then a remarkable mortar shell flew over, and Egbert saw the first mate's upper body blown into the air.

At that moment, he seemed to suddenly realize something and commanded the "Ghost" to quickly escape with the two ships.

However, the Argo did not pursue them, but merely patrolled in front of Lighthouse Hill, firing shots or cannons at the survivors in the fire.

This relieved Egbert on the Ghost.

He guessed that the Argo's powerful cannons, capable of continuous firing, must have had significant negative effects and certainly couldn't be used indefinitely.

Otherwise, they wouldn't have let those three ships leave when they had such a good opportunity.

As the fire at "Lighthouse Hill" receded further and further away, and the "Argo" failed to catch up, Egbert gradually felt relieved.

Suddenly, Egbert seemed to sense something, and he picked up his binoculars and looked at the Argo, where he saw something with a mechanical feel rising from the ship's cabin.

Two mechanical levers extended, now pointing directly at the "Ghost".
