It's been a total of four years now since I reached Chaplain and I think I'm getting close. I haven't been able to cast an Eredict spell yet but I did manage to master all the Mage and Chaplain rank spells.
I sat by a small lake surrounded by thick trees. I had to move spots after I refused to help a group of bullies so I settled over here. Also that boy with the sword eventually returned looking for his sword so now he trains here alongside me.
We haven't actually talked yet. When I asked him if he wanted to use the spot he just shook his head and we kind of just focused on our own things. For a boy who wants to be a sword wielder he looks awfully feminine. He's got long hair combed into a girl's, he's extremely skinny and he acts super shy. He needs to man up if he wants to be a swordsman.
Today I'm going to try to cast an Eredict spell. The last three times have been a failure but this time is bound to be a success. I walked over to the edge of the water ready to channel my mana.
Hello! My name is Avery Lauralet and today we will watch as this young contestant tries to cast an Eredict spell! I know! This is exciting alright! As we see he is now charging his mana up! Wow he has now just infused his mana in! And fire!
It failed. Fuck. Eredict spells aren't just bigger forms of the Chaplain spells rather they are a second mana variable. What I mean is you have to use your mana in doing two different things at once. For this spell I need to create two water balls at once but every time I keep making one.
Boy: Um, Avery.
Avery: Yes?
Boy: What spell are you trying to cast?
Avery: Uh, it's an Eredict spell. I need to make two water balls at once and shoot them out.
Boy: Could I offer some advice?
I mean this kid isn't even a mage what could he possibly say that could help?
Avery: Sure! What is it?
Boy: Try using two hands and splitting your mana between them both when making the balls.
Wait, that could work. Why did I think you only need one hand for it? You can channel out of any part of your body, not just your right palm.
Avery: Wow, wait your right. I need to try this right away! Thanks!
Boy: No problem.
I divided my mana creating two exit points while aiming at the water. Sure enough it began to create two different mana infused water balls. I slowly molded them and eventually shot both of my hands outwards. The balls hit the tree as it quickly collapsed.
Avery: Wow thanks so much! You're really smart! How did you learn that?
Boy: T-thanks I uh just learnt it from my mother.
Avery: Is your mother a Liquid mage?
Boy: Y-yes.
Avery: Can I meet her?
Boy: She, isn't around.
Avery: Oh, I'm sorry.
Boy: I-it's not your f-fault!
The boy looked extremely flustered. His long lashes flickered as he eyes sunk and rose continuously and his lips sunk downwards.
Avery: Hey, would you mind waiting here. I need to ask my mother to come down and assess me as an Eredict Liquid mage. I also want to thank you properly once I am.
Boy: S-sure! I'll wait here.
I sprinted out of the thick forest. It was known as the Aloa forest because of the nearby town and practically blocked us off from the rest of Valencia as it ran all the way into Verona. I made my way up the hill, sweating violently. I had already drained so much mana just from that spell that my body felt limp.
I pushed through it making my way past the town. The town's medieval charm, still as vibrant as ever. The sun blaring down on the well as the water reflected towards me. I looked away fixed on the house.
I was finally going to achieve Eredict! After a small while of stomping through the long dry grass I made it to the top running towards the entrance. Slamming the front door open I called for my mother. Silence. I peered out the back as my father continued his swordsmanship.
I continued further through the house. It still was as lovely as usual. Walking up the stairs I saw it. The last door was wide open. I have never seen it open before. Mother must be in there. Peering in I saw my mother standing in front of a desk with a small book. Entering the room it was dimly lit. I slowly approached my mother before peaking over to get a look at the book.
Year 774, Disarray
Three lines of dates with the words Disarray next to them. I couldn't see the other two dates but I could make out the first one. My mother turned around, staring at me and she quickly grabbed me. Pushing me out she locked the door behind her. What the hell? The first date was seven hundred and seventy four. That's this year. Whatever! I need my mother to see this!
Avery: Mother! I finally casted an Eredict spell, please come watch me so I can get approved.
Mother: Of course! Do you know what that means? You can attend the magical society.
Avery: Yes! Finally, we need to go to the lake down by Aloa Forest though and fast.
Mother: Right now! We can go!
We walked down the stairs before my father rushed in.
Father: Florence! We need to go fast!
Mother: Why what's happening?
Father: Veronan soldiers are here! C'mon!
We ran out of the house, I peered around the side of the house and a line of hundreds of soldiers on horseback were charging towards the house from far back. They carried tall golden banners with a red lion holding a sword. Verona was invading.
