Aurora's POV
"Don't move," Rod muttered, just before Fiona dashed in with other men behind her. They came with their weapons blazing, and some of the men were three times Rod's size.
But all of that just seemed to excite him. He moved swiftly, lunging his dagger into Fiona's heart. The sound of her ribs shattering as he dropped her sent chills running through my back.
I jerked, watching as the other men enclosed him in a circle.
"I will give you another chance to walk away," he warned.
"We have heard tales about you, the ruthless beta with unlimited stamina," one of the men spoke. "You can't win. We won't let you shift."
"Funny," Rod chuckled as he pulled his dagger from Fiona's chest. He gripped both of them firmly and made his stance.
He shifted into a side-on stance, lowering his center of gravity. One foot slid forward as his daggers crossed in front of him, poised with an intensity that sucked the air right out of the room.
"You think I need to shift to kill you."
