Zhou Yi felt no ripple of emotion at the Hybrid's death. He felt no sympathy for the Vampires being slaughtered and consumed, nor did he feel sadness at the Hybrid's demise. In fact, for him, a mere spectator, this sudden event finally made the play somewhat watchable.
The Hybrid had been far too powerful before, especially after catching the Vampires off guard. Their strength almost tipped the scales. If the Vampires hadn't possessed this defensive measure, they might have been steamrolled.
This wasn't just something the Vampires didn't want to see; it was also something Zhou Yi didn't want to see. He preferred a scenario where both sides fought to the death, ending in mutual destruction. That would have saved him a lot of effort.
And the current situation was just right for both sides, a stalemate. Chadnoma had lost a large number of his subordinates, but he still had over a hundred Hybrid troops surrounding him.
The Vampires were also prepared, having switched to large-caliber firearms capable of piercing the Hybrids' chest plates. They had even installed ultraviolet lights.
The two sides were currently separated only by the fortress's defensive measures, the final line of defense. This was also Chadnoma's only concern. He didn't know how many more of these defensive measures awaited him underground, and he couldn't afford another loss in his current state.
The Hybrids' concern was precisely what the Vampires wanted. Once dawn arrived, the Hybrids would have to retreat. And if they tried to attack again, it would be virtually impossible. The Vampires, having made thorough preparations, were confident in annihilating them.
Chadnoma understood perfectly that he couldn't afford to delay or be dragged into a drawn-out battle. Once tonight passed and dawn arrived, he would forever lose his chance for revenge. Even if the Vampires couldn't kill him, the attacks from the Dawn Knights would be enough to destroy him. This was the agreement from the very beginning.
He had traded everything he had for this chance at revenge. He couldn't let all his efforts go to waste. In this situation, he chose to gamble, to see if the guy watching would step onto the stage.
"Dawn Knight, I know you're here! Come out, please, help me complete my revenge. I promise you'll get to see everything you want!" he roared, his voice reaching not only Zhou Yi's ears but also being transmitted via the camera to the Grand Marquis.
The Grand Marquis's face was ashen, and he gnashed his teeth, saying, "Damn human." At this moment, he had already seen the Dawn Knight descending from the sky through the camera.
The Grand Marquis would never know how detestable he was. If he possessed even a shred of the elegance of those ancient Vampires from the legends, Zhou Yi wouldn't have chosen to help Chadnoma at this moment. It was precisely because of the Grand Duke's almost rotten existence that Zhou Yi stood on Chadnoma's side. As a spectator, he clearly understood that he wanted Chadnoma to have his revenge.
So when Chadnoma asked for his help, he decisively chose to lend a hand, so that the flames of revenge would burn even brighter.
Without any explanation from Chadnoma, Zhou Yi had already begun his demolition. He was very clear about what he should do. It was simple: just open a path to the battlefield, and the rest should be a fair fight between the two sides.
With this mindset, he charged straight towards the incredibly sturdy elevator in the hall. The steel doors couldn't stop his impact at all. In an instant, the elevator doors were completely pierced by him, and he rushed down the elevator shaft.
To prevent any devices from interfering with the Hybrids' attack, he directly activated his X-ray vision and heat ray, severing all the circuit integration devices along the way. This was the most fatal weakness of modern machinery; without power, they were just piles of scrap metal.
Watching the Dawn Knight lead the way and open the path to the battlefield, Chadnoma waved his hand, leading the remaining Hybrids to climb down the elevator shaft. However, they didn't attack quickly, as they weren't confident. The recent losses had woken up Chadnoma's brain. Now, he needed to advance steadily to ensure his revenge force didn't suffer any unexpected losses.
Zhou Yi didn't care what Chadnoma was planning. He smashed his way to the last door and stopped. Behind the door were Vampires, ready for battle. Those were the ones the Hybrids had to deal with; he had nothing to do with them.
Most importantly, he found Blade, whom he hadn't seen for a long time. Blade was currently fixed to a strange operating table. At his wrists and ankles were spikes with cross-shaped splits, tearing through his muscles and blood vessels, allowing Blade's blood to flow directly onto the operating table. The operating table seemed to be specifically designed for collecting blood. Blade's blood was collected and then put into refrigerated cans.
Zhou Yi didn't expect Blade to be captured here. No wonder he hadn't seen Blade. After figuring it out, Zhou Yi immediately took action. He still owed Blade a car and couldn't just watch him die here.
Going around, Zhou Yi broke through several thick walls and arrived at Blade's location. Blade was already on his last breath, so Zhou Yi quickly went forward to rescue him. However, he found that the situation wasn't optimistic.
Medusa's examination results indicated that Blade had lost too much blood. According to current medical standards, it was basically impossible to save him. Medusa's examination was almost impossible to be wrong, meaning that Blade was basically a goner.
Such a fact made Zhou Yi feel somewhat regretful. He patted Blade's face and asked, "Buddy, do you have any unfinished business? Believe me, I will complete it for you."
Blade had no impulse to pay attention to Zhou Yi's nonsense at all. He knew his own situation. Although it was serious, he could still be saved.
"Blood, I need blood!" Blade was weak from blood loss. He couldn't save himself and could only whisper his need. Honestly, relying on others wasn't something he enjoyed.
"Alright, hopefully this works!" Zhou Yi was puzzled by Blade's words; he didn't know about Blade's Vampire heritage. However, that didn't stop him from trusting Blade. Since he said so, he'd give him a hand. Even if he died, it wouldn't be Zhou Yi's fault.
Thinking this, he hoisted Blade up and headed for the door. He vaguely remembered this was a Vampire factory, and the factory's raw materials were mainly blood.
"Father, I'm here!" Chadnoma led his subordinates to the last door. This tightly shut door couldn't stop his desire for revenge. He charged forward, crashing into the door without hesitation.
It was like a car at full speed hitting a rock wall. With a loud crash, the metal door trembled, and dust began to fall from the surrounding walls. However, this was nothing to the steel door; it remained firm, unchanged.
Chadnoma noticed this, but it wasn't a problem. He stepped back and accelerated, crashing into it again. The door still shook. This time, another Hybrid followed Chadnoma's lead, ramming into the door, and then another.
One after another, the mechanically controlled door malfunctioned from the continuous impacts. It began to lose its resistance, slowly being forced open by Chadnoma and the Hybrids behind him.
The Hybrids surged in like a tide, while the Vampires, who had been waiting, opened fire on them. A fierce battle began. People died every moment, and every moment, people fought desperately to survive.
The Grand Marquis saw this scene and felt a sense of fear. He hadn't fought in a long time. He looked at Chadnoma and his Hybrids, who were currently being held back. Quietly, he retreated to the back, wanting to seize the opportunity to escape. If he could just get away for now, he could hunt these Hybrids later.
Nisha followed behind her father silently. No one knew what she was thinking. But from her eyes, it was clear that she was filled with doubt about her father.
The Grand Marquis didn't care at all what his daughter was thinking. For him, offspring weren't a necessity. They were just a little more important than others. Quietly, he gave an order to the Snowman. He then entered a private elevator, and Nisha followed closely behind.
The Snowman silently guarded the elevator outside. For the Snowman, the Grand Marquis was the master he served. As a warrior, sacrificing himself for his master was never a difficult thing.
Chadnoma's attacks became increasingly fierce. He couldn't see his father, which made him anxious and afraid. If the Grand Marquis escaped, with his abilities, he might never find him again, which was something Chadnoma couldn't allow.
Thinking of this, he became even more frantic. Bullets couldn't pierce his body, and weak ultraviolet light couldn't cause him fatal harm. He charged into the Vampires, leading the way. He tore their flesh, thirsting for their blood. Like a demon from hell, he made everyone shudder in fear.
Under such a frenzy, the Vampires were already showing signs of fatigue. Their casualties were far greater than the Hybrids'. If this continued, they would only be defeated.
Reinhardt saw this possibility and immediately called out to his teammates. He needed their support; the Vampires' last line of defense was in their hands. But his calls ultimately had no effect. A room filled with ammunition boxes was now filled with the smell of blood. A giant Hybrid was buried on top of Chuba. Upon closer inspection, it was clear that half of Chuba's body had been smashed to pieces, an effect only heavy weapons could achieve.
Beside Chuba, Vellien was desperately struggling to escape, her legs a bloody mess. Her face was etched with fear and despair; one could guess a lot from her expression.
The huge Hybrid heard the noise and stood up, walking toward Vellien step by step. In the dim light, it was clear that this creature and Light Axe were seven or eight parts similar, or perhaps it was better to say, he was once called Light Axe, but now he was just a monster.
