Younger Togata goes into town, coming back with groceries, as he stands on the sidewalk about to cross the road, as he does a girl wearing a hoodie walks up jittery as she rushes to cross the street.
Young Togata pulls her back. ''The cars are still crossing miss''.
The girl takes out her EarPods and looks at him. ''Yeah, I know, I'm off to somewhere ok prince charming? I know how to cross a road''. The girl replies as she wriggles free of Togata's grip and runs across.
Young Togata sees a car about to hit a girl. He rushes over to grab her out of the way as the two fall on the sidewalk by the side of them.
''Are you okay miss? My apologies about your groceries''. Young Togata says.
The girl just sits there as she sighs.
''Are you alright?''. Young Togata asks again.
''Yeah, thank you, I guess I was rushing, I need to get home quickly but this happened, My mom is gonna kill me''. The girl says jokingly.
''She seems, surprisingly calm''. Young Togata thinks to himself. ''It's alright, I can buy you some more if you want?''. Togata says.
''Huh? But won't you're parents scold you for wasting money on a random girl you just met?''. The girl asks.
''No it's okay, nothing like that, really''. Young Togata says as he stretches a hand. The girl takes it as he picks her up and the two head to the grocery store.
''Here you can go and purchase everything you had before''. Young Togata says handing her some money.
''Huh? No way, c'mon I'm not just gonna take a strangers money, come on, you can pay at the till''. The girl says as she grabs Togata into the store with her.
After they buy everything Younger Togata and the girl leave the store and begin walking.
''So you're following me home? You really are a gentleman''. The girl jokes.
''Uhh, my apologies, if it makes you uncomfortable, this is just my route as well''. Young Togata says.
''Hey, I didn't say I hated it''. The girl says playfully bumping into him.
Young Togata stands there stunned. ''Uh, miss are you alright? Are you dizzy?''.
The girl laughs. ''No I'm alright, but I asked you a question, you gonna walk me home?''. The girl says.
''I...I don't know sure if you're okay with it?''. Young Togata says confused.
The girl goes ahead of him as she turns back to face him. ''C'mon take a hint''. She laughs as she gestures to where she's headed.
''What hint? I...I don't understand''. Younger Togata says.
The girl looks genuinely amazed about his reaction and the two continue walking.
The two get to a cross road facing the university.
''I have to go now, take care miss''. Young Togata says.
The girl grabs his arm and stops him. ''I might run into some cars again and need someone to help me?''. The girl says.
''Uhh, I can call a cab''. Young Togata says.
Togata cringes watching as the events unfold.
The girl eventually has enough and takes a deep breath. ''I don't want a cab I want you''. The girl says.
''Huh?''. Young Togata replies.
''Sorry! That came out wrong! Hahah, I meant I want you to walk me home, If you'd be alright with that?''. The girl says nervously.
''Um, sure of course miss, why didn't you just say so?''. Young Togata asks.
''I did....''. The girl whispers to herself.
The two walk, young Togata following her lead.
''So, who are you mysterious rich stranger?''. The girl teases.
''What?''. Young Togata replies.
''I mean, you paid with a credit card, and you think that's normal?''. The girl laughs.
''I'm Togata Toriyama, pleased to meet you''. Young Togata says.
''That name, you're not from around here are you? Which school do you go to?''. The girl asks.
''I uhh, go to the university we just passed''. Young Togata explains.
''What? Liar, we look the same age no need to feel like a big shot, just tell me you're parents work there right?''. The girl says.
''Uhh, Yeah, my parents work there''. Young Togata lies to help the situation.
''Now you're turn''. The girl says.
''Huh?''. Young Togata replies.
''Dude, ask my name!''. The girl whispers.
''What's your name?''. Young Togata says with a smile.
''The name's Lilly. Lilly, Macbeth''. The girl says with a smile as she removes her hood revealing her face, she had long ginger colored hair and green eyes, wearing a pink hoodie, EarPods and some regular sneakers.
Young Togata stands there stunned, his face lighting up red.
''You're staring...''. Lilly teases.
''Uh, I'm sorry''. Young Togata says turning away quickly. ''What the hell, I feel like my heart is beating out of my chest! Tick what is this!?''. Young Togata thinks to himself.
The girl giggles. ''It's alright, You know I cover my face cause you don't know the creeps that could be lurking around, but you're different, you're a really nice guy, thanks by the way for everything, and thanks for walking me home''. Lilly says.
''Umm, you asked me...''. Young Togata replies.
''Psh, you're not supposed to say that, you're supposed to act all manly and be like. No problem babe anytime''. Lilly says in a gruff voice.
Togata laughs. ''Huh? Is that how guys talk?.....''. Togata asks.
''Usually, they do but, you're different, quieter and honest I like it''. Lilly says.
Younger Togata blushes a bit.
''Yeah I remember this, it's the first time I really met someone I liked''. Togata says.
She bumps into him even more. ''C'mon now you compliment me now''. Lilly says.
''I don't know what to say''. Young Togata says.
''Anything''. Lilly says.
''I like your clothes you look cool....I guess''. Young Togata says nervously.
''Really....Thanks, so tell me stranger what's your favorite song?''. Lilly asks.
''I don't listen to music like that''. Young Togata replies.
''No way! You don't listen to any music? You're insane!''. Lilly shouts.
''Is that bad?''. Young Togata asks.
''No just, weird, here listen to this and tell me what you think''. Lilly says as she gives him one of her EarPods.
The song plays as the two walk down the street towards the girls house.
''I like it''. Young Togata says.
''Knew you would you seem like the type to like these slow cheesy songs, but hey I don't judge''. Lilly jokes.
Young Togata laughs.
''Yeah,....So you're just playing me embarrassing home videos or something?''. Togata asks watching.
''Don't forget what happened next''. Dark Togata says with amusement.
Suddenly a man stands in front of the two ''Hey kids, want some free candy?''.
''No thanks shady dude''. Lilly says brushing him off as they continue walking.
The man grabs her. ''You're a rude little girl aren't ya?''.
''Hey let go!". The girl shouts.
''Sir, let go of her''. Young Togata says standing in between the two.
The man pushes Younger Togata off to the side as he falls.
Lilly kicks the guy in the nuts as she grabs Togata and they run from the guy as he chases them. The man catches up grabbing Lilly and pulling her away.
''Let go!''. Young Togata shouts.
The man kicks him to the ground as he begins to take her. ''Think you're so tough kid, why don't ya deal with someone you're own size, me and orange here are just gonna go on a nice walk, so beat it''. The man shouts.
''Togata! Help!". Lilly shouts trying to pull away.
Suddenly everything seems to slow down. Younger Togata stares at the man with a crazy look in his eyes, he stares as he watches him, but the man begins to shift, turning into the alien from that night years ago.
Younger Togata gets up and kicks him in the face.
''What the hell!?''. The man shouts.
Younger Togata begins to punch him mercilessly, as blood splatters from his face.
Togata watches himself disgusted as he remembers that night clearly.
''Togata stop! That's enough!''. Lilly shouts.
Younger Togata doesn't stop but continues beating the man as his cries for help fade, he begins to go unconscious.
''Togata! Stop it!''. Lilly shouts running over to try and stop him but she can't.
Younger Togata keeps going until the man's face is pummeled almost unrecognizable as he stares down at him breathing heavily. He manages to snap out of it as he looks at his fist and then Lilly who stares in fear as she begins to back away.
''I..''. Younger Togata stammers trying to explain.
Lilly runs away as Togata sits there speechless.
''You call me the crazy killer dude? Funny when you kill without even a second thought, usually aliens but....I wonder what you'd kill if you didn't have Serpo?''. Dark Togata says.
Togata stares at himself as he calls for an ambulance for the man.
''You're no hero, no damn philanthropist either, just a psychopath doin' charity to help him sleep at night, problem is the true you only shows when Berty ain't around, I wonder what you'd do if he wasn't always breathing down ya neck?''. Dark Togata continues.
Suddenly the vision fades and Togata is back in the empty place, the mirror standing in front of him once again, another version of himself inside it.
''Yo, so tell me if this mirror is really busted bro''. Dark Togata says.
''Yeah, I guess so....So you are me aren't you, the cloak is the fake character I put on, the accent is my fear of social rejection, the hood represents what I want to hide, a broken person, seeking revenge, and the scythe is Tick, the one who empowered me to do all this right?''. Togata says.
''Damn aren't we smart? Mask's off, End of story''. Dark Togata says.
''Woah deep,... fighting my inner demons and stuff, so when are we making the music video?''. Togata asks.
''You've got jokes don't ya?''. Dark Togata says.
''Yeah, guess so, you're me, but it's not anything I haven't thought about before, so what's the real reason you showed me all this?''. Togata asks.
''So you'll believe this''. Dark Togata says as the mirror disappears.
Togata watches as he sees Dark Togata standing there in the midst of the aliens as all his friends bodies lie on the floor lifeless as he turns back smiling at him.
Togata stands stunned, but manages to compose himself. Dark Togata walks up to him, the two basically face to face staring at each other.
''See, here's the problem with that....''. Togata says as he transforms into his own Death form but without the hood scythe in hand. ''Like I'd ever let that happen''.
Dark Togata looks him up and down. ''Oh''. He says as a soft laugh slips out of him. ''So that's how you wanna do it?''.
Togata stares unfazed.
Dark Togata cracks his neck almost playfully as he steps even closer. ''Man I was worried you'd freeze but...Nah, you stepped in. Respect bro. Guess that means we're fightin', Good, I hoped you'd say no so I can prove you wrong but, you look pissed''. Dark Togata says sighing as though getting ready.
''C'mon. Show me how far you're willing to go for them!''. Dark Togata shouts basically grinning from ear to ear.
''Go to hell!''. Togata shouts.
