Togata sleeps, suddenly he's awake, but not really, he's in a familiar place. He stands up as he stares into the black emptiness as he looks around.
A mirror stands in front of him, clear, the only thing in this empty void, Togata walks up to it, but something else fills the mirror.
Togata sees himself, but, not himself, another version, his dark cloak enveloping him, the hood covering his face as it smiles back at him.
''What's poppin me?''. Dark Togata says.
''I think this mirror is defective''. Togata says.
''Oh is it now?''. The dark Togata says as he stares back.
''So this is what you meant by a piece of yourself? I'm guessing you want to take over my body''. Togata says.
''Nah, wrong''. Dark Togata says.
''So you want to turn me into you?''. Togata asks.
''Like I said I gave you a piece of myself, we're one in the same now, we always were, I'm just the form you choose to hide, in fact, I'm the original''. Dark Togata replies.
''Yeah, right''. Togata says.
The other Togata turns around and walks into the mirror.
Togata sighs as he follows stepping into it. ''So I'm guessing you're taking me to a night club? The way you speak it wouldn't be too far fetched''. Togata jokes.
''No, I'm here to show you, you. The true you, the one you push back''. The dark version replies as he disappears.
Suddenly the landscape changes, Togata is back in a familiar place.
''You've gotten into my memories too?''. Togata asks irritated.'
Togata sees a younger version of himself in a dorm room with Tick as he sits down.
''AstroNova''. Togata says with a smile.
''Well, I'll be off! We'll need to get some more information on that Serpo alien, I will head to the headmasters house as he copies all the files in the school on weekends like this one and keeps his files there, it will take me a while so do try to enjoy yourself while I'm away young master''. Tick says.
''I will, take care Tick, don't get caught''. Togata says.
''Alright, cheerio!''. Tick says as he flies out the wall.
Young Togata sits there studying, but eventually gets bored and goes outside. Togata follows him.
Younger Togata walks around seeing students playing in halls, the teachers trying to stop them to no avail.
Younger Togata walks through the halls as he bumps into a blonde haired boy.
''My apologies''. Young Togata says as he gets up.
''No worries broski, wait...You're that Toriyama kid right?''. The blonde haired boy says.
''Yes, pleased to meet you''. Young Togata says.
''Pleased to meet you? Ha, bro why you talking like that, you mean hey?''. The boy says as his friends laugh.
''Yeah I remember this, Justin''. Togata sighs.
''You talk weird bro, makes sense since your the infamous kid genius, I'm Justin, you know the name, 11 years old, I'm pretty witty myself, my dad works in NASA''. Justin says proudly.
''Yeah, I'm familiar''. Younger Togata says.
''You busy? Come one join us me and the boys we're gonna play some video games, you up?''. Justin says.
''S...Su...Sure, yes thank you very much''. Younger Togata says.
Justin laughs. ''I like you dude, although you should stop talking like that it's confusing''.
Younger Togata and Justin with his friends head for the game room.
''Yikes, I was so nervous, Justin was the most popular boy in school at the time if I remember correctly''. Togata says as he follows them.
Togata and Justin head to the game room where Togata beats all of them without having ever played before.
''Bro, what are you? How the hell are you doing that?''. Justin says.
''No fair he's lying! He's played before there's no way he hasn't!''. A boy complains.
''Psh, yeah he has to be lying cause you're such a pro''. Justin says as his friends laugh.
''He is?''. Younger Togata asks.
The boys burst into laughter.
''Dude you're hilarious, are you that dense? Plus what's with the halfway British accent?!''. Justin says.
Togata cringes at the sight. ''Uhhhg, Yeah I didn't understand sarcasm, this what you wanted me to see?''. Togata says.
''Nah, just what came after''. Dark Togata says.
''Dude I don't like this guy he's annoying, I feel like he's just pretending not to know this stuff, he's probably just laughing at us in his head''. One of Justin's friend's whisper to him.
''Calm down, he's chill, he's not like that I know it''. Justin whispers back.
''How can you be sure?''. Another one says.
Justin sighs. ''Fine, we can ditch him for now, but if he asks I'll say it was you''.
''Hey Togata! We're off to do some homework, I know that must be easy to you so we'll just go on our own, see ya soon bro!''. Justin says as he waves off and walks away with his friends.
''B..Bye''. Younger Togata waves back.
''I guess I'll keep playing until they get back, so I can impress them''. Younger Togata thinks to himself as he keeps playing the game.
He waits 9 hours but they don't come back until it's late in the night.
''Oh...Toriyama? It's late the game room is closed for tonight sorry, you can come back tomorrow if you'd like, I'm glad to see you doing something other than studying''. A faculty member says as he walks into the room.
''Ok....Sir''. Young Togata says as he gets up, having finished all the levels in the game. ''Maybe they just forgot, or dosed off studying? Or....Maybe it was because of the way I speak....''. Young Togata thinks to himself as he is saddened by the event.
Younger Togata is back in his room in front of the mirror practicing an American accent.
''I remember reading tons of books on literature so this never happens again''. Togata says to himself.
''Yoo....Hey....Brooo..''. Younger Togata says in front of the mirror.
Togata cringes even more. ''Yeah, I'm socially awkward, so?''.
''That calm confidence, is false, it's just cause you don't know what to say''. Dark Togata teases.
''Yeah, I'm socially awkward, Momo told me, so?''. Togata replies.
''That ain't all''. Dark Togata says.
Suddenly the terrain changes and Younger Togata is older, in another dorm room as Tick is gone.
''Oh...My university, I was about 13, Tick went off again to get some fuel to experiment with, since I was too young, yeah we're criminals''. Togata thinks, laughing to himself.
Younger Togata walks out of the room on to the streets of the campus as people greet and smile.
''I guess I was getting a bit more known about this time''. Togata says.
