Stefan Lockwood. The name alone sent shivers through the campus. Stories of his brawls, his temper, and endless money made him untouchable. And now, Molly's brother Calvin, Stefan's inseparable friend, had a reason to target me.
I tried to dismiss it as idle threats, but the next morning proved otherwise. As I clutched my steamed bun—a small luxury—I froze.
"Julia, right?"
Stefan Lockwood sat casually at a cafeteria table, an unsettling intensity in his gaze. Behind him stood his usual entourage, including Calvin, arms crossed.
"So, you're the one who hit my sister?" Calvin demanded.
I swallowed my bun. "She knocked over my food first," I said. "I returned her card, but she ruined my meal. Compensation, isn't it?"
Calvin sneered. "She's been crying at home, saying you called her a fat pig and stole her card."
Stefan picked up an unfinished bun and tossed it at me. Reflexively, I caught it and stuffed it into my mouth. Delicious. Beef-filled, unlike my usual vermicelli bun. My eyes darted to the remaining buns on his table.
"Got any more?" I asked, hinting at desperation.
Calvin exploded. "She's mocking you!"
