Victor looked at him deadpan as if to say, 'Go on, then explain.'
"Tch"
"Fine, I was once just the shadow god, though calling me a god was a bit of an understatement, as I could kill all other gods easily, but I digress I was first the shadow god that commanded shadows and had a powerful army of shadow creatures, ranging from humans to a few gods, though my power had an annoying flaw."
He paused for a moment before continuing "when I brought back the dead with my power resulting in them becoming a shadow they lost their memory's and became beasts that could only follow cammands and I didn't like this I wanted them to retain their memory's but doings so would require also being the god of death which people though impossible nobody could be a god of two aspects it was in heard of"
Letting his words sink in he decided it best to wrap the long talk over quietly "long story short I fought the god of death stole a part of his death divinity with a forbidden technique from a different universe merged it with me allowing all new shadows to keep their memory's then others found out ganged up on me and sealed me here tch truly petty"
Victor was, to say the least, astonished, but something didn't add up: "I thought you said you could kill all the gods easily. How did they beat you?" Skepticism is evident in his gaze
Seeing that look, Shadow's eyes glistened with amusement. "Well, gods aren't the most powerful entities out there, though they are among the top 5. I can tell you, above that universal law, you're too weak to withstand it, quite frankly."
Victor didn't like that answer 'weak'; for some reason, he didn't like that word right now, but he pushed that aside for now. He needed answers on how to get stronger. He was going to ask about other universes, but figured he was too weak to know
"How do I become strong like you?"
"Though without the forbidden part sounds too fishy."
Hearing this shadow, I couldn't help but find this human quite funny 'strong like me, that's near impossible unless I gave you my power.'
As he thought about that, a sudden idea crossed his mind, 'that might work actually'
"Listen, I have a proposal, okay, you can 100% become as strong as me, no wait, stronger." The excitement in his voice was palpable
Victor's mood grew fast at the prospect of having the power that surpasses the gods, who wouldn't? But he wasn't stupid, nothing free
"What do you want in Exchange because I'm currently dead and have nothing?"
Hearing this, the shadow nearly laughed, but didn't; this was important, VERY important
"Alright, listen, I'll give you my power, all of it, of course, not my accumulated power. I'll give you all my shadow aspect and my little bit of death aspect. You'll have to work up to godhood yourself, but when I give you it, I will die."
The words hung heavy after all, what god gives power to die? Non ever if they are locked up but what about if the human who got the power turned the god into his shadow using said power though technically it still wouldn't work because they would get the aspects at the lowest rank but shadow thought to boost his power just enough for a short time to bind him then there would be no issue he didn't mind becoming this humans shadow and following him around it sounded fun
After explaining his plot to free himself and give the human his power, they both agreed, I mean, who wouldn't? It's a win-win situation, come on.
"Alright, let's do thi-"
"WAIT, I have a small request. Could you make your power into a system like the ones I remember? I permit to look." Victor was really giddy now. This was amazing, every person's dream
"Ahhh, fine, but this will take a while, so sit still."
After what felt like eternity, the shadow finally stirred. "Ah, that was so much effort, you should be glad I want out of here," he said with mock annoyance. He, too, was really excited
"Alright, I'm going to give you my essence. It's the foundation of every god's power. When it merges with you, you will have 1 minute to give me the command 'awaken,' and that will turn me into your shadow. You first official shadow, hehe."
Victor was practically shaking; he was so excited, "Okay, got it now, quickly do it."
"Okay"

Suddenly, the room darkened. Every shadow in the plane rushed to the slight drop of black, which looked like blood, merging with it until it finally made its way to the victor's head and implanted itself between his eyes
"Agh"
"QUICKLY COMMAND WORD NOW"
Shadow was practically sweating buckets. He was minutes away from death when Victor's eyes suddenly locked with his before he heard those words that made his being shake with excitement
"AWAKEN"
BOOM
The entire plain exploded before the shadow merged with the victor's already existing shadow, replacing it entirely
The plane was falling apart, and nowhere to go. Victor shouted
"SHADOW, WHERE WILL HE GO? THIS PLACE ISN'T GOING TO LAST LONG"
Just as he finished, Shadow's voice ran in his head
"Run to the platform outside and I'll pour my last bit of devinity in it. This should take us somewhere random in the universe, but anywhere is better than here."
Following what Shadow said, he ran like his life depended on it, because well, it did. As he got there, Shadow emerged from his shadow. I really got to give him a new name. ' He poured his last divinity into it, and a blinding golden light appeared, encasing Victor in its glory before sending him off to some random location
As Victor emerged from the other side, he was met with the brightest light he had seen since dying, and to his sanity, it was a sun, a warm ball of fire, but he had never been happier to see it.
He was about to stand up when a black shadow panel flickered into existence in front of him.
