Chapter 26 - He Won't

The rest of the afternoon, Rudeus and I continuously introduced more games, most of which Rudeus and Sylphiette used to play together. I have to commend Rudeus's creativity for a few of them as they were genuinely quite interesting, but due to the nature of requiring proficient magic usage, I struggled quite a bit to keep up with the other two. Meanwhile, Eris was completely helpless.

Like a competitive little girl, Eris ordered me to teach her how to use magic like the other two. I had no choice but to comply and started teaching Eris the most basic spell, 'Water Ball.'

Thinking back, mine and Rudeus's method up to this point has been quite effective. I remember reading somewhere in *Hammer Session* that human psychology, especially in young people, tends to make them want to surpass their peers if they have previously excelled in many other areas. It's like having a desk mate who always gets worse grades than you, and you're proud of that, but then in a subject like Physics, they completely outscore you, so you become more motivated to study Physics.

This case really worked with Eris, even though we didn't plan for it. It seems this method is quite effective on people with sky-high egos, huh?

Come to think of it, Isolde seems to be exactly the same.

But regardless, this combination of play and learning is very effective for Eris. Even though it took almost the whole day and the help from both Rudeus and Sylphiette for Eris to chant the Water Ball spell, at least she succeeded.

"I shot a water ball!" Eris jumped up in joy.

Seeing my student become so happy made me truly proud of myself. If I suddenly woke up in a hospital right now, I would also be determined to become a good teacher on Earth, just to see more scenes like this.

Because of that, Rudeus and I figured out how to lure Eris into learning to read.

"Alright, now let's play 'Who Am I'," Rudeus took out a few thin pieces of wood and gave one to each person.

Regarding the rules, this game is simple; I think every Earthling knows it. What players do is write the name of a famous character and pass it to the person next to them. The person next to them will place the card with that name on their forehead without looking.

When everyone has a card, they will take turns asking questions about the person assigned to them and then guess the name. Extremely simple.

However, except for one person, this game couldn't be played.

"Does Lady Eris not know how to read?" Rudeus pretended to ask.

"I know how to read and write my name!"

So Eris wrote her name, misspelled and messy as a chicken scratch. So instead of the name of a goddess of strife, she now bore the name of a girl who fell down a rabbit hole.

"Eris, you wrote your name wrong." I spoke up. "This reads as Alice."

"Don't need you to remind me!"

And so I got punched. But I guess I have to take it.

But interesting, isn't it? Philip somehow named his daughter quite fittingly for her temperament. Do they name children in this world as a way to shape their personalities?

"You guys deliberately came up with this game to embarrass me, didn't you?" Eris pointed at me and Rudeus, her other hand raising a fist.

Yes, we did it on purpose.

In this case, I couldn't read or write for Eris because I was the one she had to write for. We created a game that requires reading and writing to play.

"It was unintentional." Rudeus pretended to be innocent again. "If Lady Eris doesn't want to, we can play another game."

"Aw, what a pity, I wanted to try playing." And I pretended to be sad.

"What can you do, the young lady doesn't know how to read." Rudeus pretended to sympathize again. "I thought everyone at this age knew how to read, so that's why... probably because Lady Eris is too busy with noble duties to have time to study."

"Yeah, you really should be more considerate." I pretended to pat Rudeus's shoulder again.

The two of us were openly being sarcastic. Guess what happened?

"Grr..." Eris gritted her teeth, then pointed at us and ordered. "If I don't know, I just have to learn, right! You think this much can trouble me!"

And so, for the first time in her life, Eris took the initiative to learn to read with the guidance of Rudeus and Sylphiette. According to what we discussed, Rudeus found a better way to teach reading through the way we used to learn Kanji in our past lives. Although the Human language alphabet isn't hieroglyphic, if we compare it to something familiar, it's quite easy. Like saying the letter 'v' in the Latin alphabet is holding up two fingers, and the letter 'i' is holding up one finger, like that. With Human Tongue letters, you can use it like saying the letter which is spelled 'k' is shaped like a flower petal.

After learning the alphabet, reading will be quite simple because it has the exact same mechanism as languages using the Latin system, just spell it out.

So from that evening until late that night, Eris could actually write and read the names of 8 important characters in the Human-Demon War 400 years ago, and also the names of Lord Sauros and Ghislaine.

Although still misspelled all over the place, it was a leap forward no one could have expected. All just to be able to play a game.

Thinking back, I also applied this play-and-learn method in my past life.

The story is that I used to be very bad at English, to the point where it was the only subject that made me lose my top ranking throughout middle school. Then in high school, I found something called World Of Warcraft. That damn game didn't have a Japanese version, so I had to fumble through everything in English, and before long, I reached a level where I could read Lord of the Rings in English.

And if I remember correctly, a few elementary schools also apply this play-and-learn model, right? If true, the Japanese education system is gradually trending towards progress because in my time, it was just study until you drop.

So the first day ended, Eris was truly happy with the first day she really played in Buena village. The young lady also agreed to call Rudeus by name instead of 'that mage kid'. Eris and Sylphiette also temporarily became allies to fight against the two boys.

Eris now knows how to use Water Ball after biting her tongue a few times, knows how to read and spell a few hero names but doesn't know how to write yet.

In general, we have exceeded the target in the task of taming Eris.

Actually, I feel like my role played a significant part in this success. Yeah, this was indeed a plan by both me and Rudeus, but the fact that Eris was willing to listen and try playing along also played a significant part in giving the young lady initial interest.

Thinking back, if this were the Eris I met last year, she would have turned her nose up, said something nonsense, and walked away. Or worse, taken a sword and beaten everyone up because they were eyesores.

Sometimes I wonder what would have happened if I didn't exist.

Maybe Philip would have nodded for Rudeus to go to Roa and leave Sylphiette behind. Then Rudeus would be chased and beaten black and blue by Eris and sent back.

But with Rudeus's intelligence and quick wit, I think he would find some way to tame Eris. Although I don't know what way that would be.

Hmm... Maybe I should ask.

"Rudeus, if you were sent to Roa and had to teach Eris alone, what would you do to persuade her to learn?"

"Hmm let's see, maybe I would also seek you out and ask for a way. Since you are the head tutor."

"I mean if I wasn't there." I asked straight out. "And Eris wasn't as obedient as now but like when I first met her. She would rush in and beat you up."

"Um… Let's see, maybe for now I would use a part of the plan we just did and modify it."

"Become Eris's friend?"

"Become a life-and-death comrade." Rudeus suddenly became strangely serious. "I would probably ask Lord Philip to stage a kidnapping of both me and Eris so I could use reading, math, and magic to escape. That way Eris would feel those things have value and start to respect me."

"Sounds like the plot of some manga, doesn't it?" I frowned. "I'm not sure if it would be effective."

"Well, it came from manga." Oh, is this guy kidding me? "As for whether it's effective or not, there's no chance to try it anyway, so who knows for sure. Instead of thinking about these things, we should focus on what's coming up."

I also agreed, so the two of us continued to discuss what to do on the group's last day in Buena.

The next day, Eris was the first to wake up and kicked Rudeus's door open with one foot.

"Wake up you losers! I only have today left to play!"

I should have been happy that Eris was so excited to play, but looking outside, I didn't even see the sun yet. Paul's rooster hadn't even woken up because it was only four in the morning.

Surprisingly, Paul was also awake and practicing sword in the yard. The morning thus became an unscheduled sword practice session.

With two swordsmanship instructors who are legendary S-rank adventurers of the Fangs of the Black Wolf: Paul Greyrat - Advanced-rank Swordsman in Three Styles and Ghislaine Dedoldia - Black Wolf Sword King.

"Alright Rudy, you missed sword practice for a day, today you have to make up for it." Paul crossed his arms and spoke seriously; this was the first time I saw him act like a father. "Have a match with Lady Eris."

Rudeus froze for a second; he looked at Eris, who was swinging her sword like crazy with a beaming face. I think he was imagining the scene of getting beaten up as I said last night.

"Can I fight Atur?" Rudeus pointed at me.

"No. Eris is also at Beginner level, so it's best if you only fight someone at your level."

So Eris and Rudeus sparred with each other.

Suddenly I felt uneasy.

"And I will spar with you, Atur."

Are you fucking kidding me?

"I think you should spar with Ms. Ghislaine." I said honestly, after all, I'm just a Beginner swordsman.

"If I fight her, I'll lose for sure." There's no doubt for sure. "Besides, I heard you can use secret arts, so you're definitely not ordinary. Right, Ghislaine?"

"Yeah."

Why do I feel like I'm being bullied by two adults?

"I also want to try fighting a Water King once in my life."

"Wait a sec, I'm not-"

Before I could finish my sentence, Eris cut in proudly.

"That's right! Atur is very strong! He even dodged the Longsword of Light!"

"No no... I only dodged the Longsword of Silence, Eris." Another person wanting me dead, got it.

Now probably only Rudeus can save me from this situation.

"Go Atur, I'll buff you with the power of friendship." Truly, you can't trust anyone in this world.

Alright then, I have to rely on myself.

"You surely won't fight all out with a kid, right Uncle?" I asked with concern.

"If I fight Rudeus, then no."

So you plan to go all out with a kid only a year older than your son??? This world really needs child protection laws!

I swear I had a feeling Paul would take the opportunity to use a personal grudge to beat me up. But for some reason, I didn't feel a single bit of 'ill intent' from him. The attitude, posture, and expression all showed he wanted a real sparring match.

Who possessed him?

Out of options, I was forced to fight Paul.

To be honest, I don't expect to win this match. Because I know how strong an Advanced-rank swordsman is.

I've fought three Advanced-rank swordsmen: Henry, Ken, and Tantris. Needless to say, I lost to all three. Although I'm much stronger than before, all my skills are only used for dodging, absolutely no damage dealing.

But... I don't want to lose. No one trains like crazy just to lose. And it's against Paul, so I want to lose to this guy even less. Even if I lose, I will lose with 120% effort!

Saying I'm not scared would be a lie. I've never fought a swordsman who knows all three styles before, so I have absolutely no idea what will happen, like going into an exam without studying a single word.

"But to be fair, I will only use Sword God Style techniques. Is that okay?"

"Oh thank you so much." I almost knelt down to show my appreciation.

However, fighting an Advanced-rank Sword God Style swordsman is still a difficult problem. But at least now I get to take the exam in the subject I've been studying for a whole year.

And I really hate fighting against the bullshit tricks of the North God Style.

Paul picked up his sword and got into the usual defensive stance of the Sword God Style with the tip pointing up, emphasizing speed and power of the strike. On my side, it was similar, but using a stance with the sword tip lowered, a stance enhancing reflexes that I invented to suit my fly-like fighting style.

"Start!"

As soon as Ghislaine announced, Paul immediately disappeared from my sight.

My body, accustomed to super-fast reflexes, immediately moved on its own, the sword also raised to block the attack on my wrist.

*Clack*

Fast as hell!

Never have I seen an 'Arm Chop' this fast. Although not reaching the speed of the Longsword of Silence, being able to push the speed of a skill sword strike this fast is truly amazing.

And strong too! I quickly redirected that blow away with Flow, completely neutralizing the power of that strike into an arc before launching a low counterattack.

*Whoosh* *Whoosh*

I launched a total of two attacks, all missing the target because Paul quickly retreated and rushed in again as my attacks passed. A slash straight at my head level, fast and decisive.

A few locks of silver hair were sliced off; I dodged my head and escaped. However, that attack hadn't ended yet; Paul changed the direction of the attack mid-way, turning the thrust into a horizontal slash.

I had to lean to one side, rolling a few times to luckily escape such a dangerous blow.

But Paul didn't stop there; before I could even stand up, he continued to attack. A downward slash followed immediately by a series of rapid thrusts gave me no room to breathe.

*Clack* *Clack* *Clack*

I can't keep it up like this.

I had to use the card I always hid, intending to use only in emergencies.

"Wind Push!"

A gust of wind pushed straight into the ground, creating a reaction force to throw me off the ground and quickly land on my feet.

With that move just now, I should have used it to attack the opponent. But with Paul's level, I guessed it wouldn't have any effect, so I used it to run away. A bit cowardly, but at least I escaped Paul's combo attack.

"Chantless magic?" Paul asked with a bit of surprise, his mouth forming an amused smile. "You have a lot of tricks up your sleeve, kid."

I didn't answer, because I was busy regaining my stable stance.

In terms of strength and level, Ghislaine clearly surpasses Paul. But regarding the speed of basic attacks, Paul didn't hold back at all, so they all reached high speeds, even equal to the Longsword of Silence.

It's true that you can't compare a swordsman's level through their rank. Even though he's the same rank as Henry, Paul is clearly much stronger.

But I didn't feel anxious or afraid. In fact, I started to feel excited.

Unlike the past time training with Ghislaine, where I had absolutely no chance of winning. All I did was try to 'survive' through the sparring sessions. My goal every time I faced the Sword King was purely to learn and train. While with Eris, it was to maintain the skills I had and guide her.

While this match is different.

I am facing a stronger opponent but one I can completely confront directly.

More importantly, I have grasped the rhythm.

"Hah!"

And when Paul stomped his foot on the ground, crushing a layer of green grass, I saw it.

Everything seemed to slow down visibly. Even though this was clearly a Longsword of Silence strike, I saw it as clearly as if it were in slow motion. My body immediately reacted. I also rushed in with the wooden sword in my hand.

I suddenly remembered the first time I fought Isolde more than two years ago. Her sword path was just like that, becoming clearly slow, and everything was perfect.

And I remembered the nights training in the forest with Ken, even the match in the Water God Style headquarters.

I used Perfect Reverse unconsciously. My body then knew what to do after going through a long and tiring match.

But this match is different.

I haven't even been hit once, but that feeling has reappeared. I know exactly where to swing my sword, how, with what force, as if it were the only result of a math problem.

And I swung my sword.

Two wooden blades clashed, a *whoosh* sound rang out, Paul's wooden sword broke in two as if cut by a sharp blade. I successfully used Perfect Reverse on the Longsword of Silence. However, I hadn't won yet. My experience is that every time I use a secret art, the opponent always finds a way to counterattack, and this case was no exception.

"Not bad! But not done yet!" Instead of retreating like a normal person would when losing a weapon, Paul continued his momentum, throwing an elbow at my face.

With my current posture, I couldn't dodge, nor could I withdraw my sword in time to block. But instead of taking the hit like many other times, I decided to go all out.

*Thud!*

Instead of avoiding, I lowered my head, proactively using my forehead to take the blow. Then, as I usually do in every match with Ghislaine, my whole body pivoted, moving with the blow to minimize damage.

Then using the spin, I quickly dashed behind Paul, keeping distance, preparing for the next round.

"Oh. You are truly extraordinary, kid." But contrary to predictions, Paul didn't seem to want to continue. "I lost this match, go heal."

And that was the first time I fought an Advanced-rank swordsman and won.

In the next match, Paul decided to use North God Style techniques - my nemesis. The result was that I lost seven consecutive matches without a chance. To the point where I broke my arm and couldn't win any more matches.

Luckily Rudeus knew Intermediate healing magic; my bones quickly healed and were as good as new. The pain also disappeared as if it had never been broken into three pieces.

"First time I've seen someone fight on par with Paul like that." Rudeus commented in Japanese.

"Which of your eyes saw me fight on par? My arm just got broken."

But honestly, I don't think I'm weak. Maybe because I'm always with people who are terribly strong, I have imposter syndrome, but it seems I really am strong. Although not clearly seen day by day, with my current strength, I would easily defeat the 10% version of Isolde I first met.

No, maybe 30-40% is more accurate.

It seems I really have a future with swordsmanship, huh? Although I don't think I need to conquer the peak. My goal is still to get stronger, deal with Pilemon and Darius, then retire. If I climb to a position like Emperor rank or something, it will be hard to live peacefully.

"By the way, you know how to use chantless magic?" Rudeus asked.

"Yes, and I'm not quite sure how I can do it. Ah wait, you know how to use it too, don't you? Can you-"

I was about to discuss more with Rudeus about what was said when suddenly Paul appeared right in front of me and crossed his arms looking extremely serious.

"Rudeus, go continue your spar with Lady Eris, let me talk to Atur for a bit."

Rudeus looked at me as if waiting to see what I would say. Out of options, I decided to go along with my uncle's wish.

"We'll talk later."

"Alright."

So now it's just me sitting on the rough bench in front of the house looking at Paul standing in front of me.

Strange, Paul doesn't seem to intend to laugh in my face for breaking a bone so easily. Looking like this, he must intend to talk about something serious. Is the trope about two guys fighting and then becoming friends really that effective?

"Listen, kid." Paul stood with arms crossed, blocking all the sunlight, making me look tiny under that huge shadow. "I know what you and my kid are plotting, and I'm really not happy about it."

Well, of course I didn't intend to do anything to make him happy.

But asking directly like this, Paul must really know my and Rudeus's plot. Maybe the sword practice just now was to 'test' me or something?

"I swear I don't know what you're talking about." But in the current situation, I'll play dumb.

"This morning Ghislaine told me Eris wants to take both Rudeus and that Sylphiette girl back to Roa."

"That means Lady Eris has considered your son a friend. Teaching the young lady will become much easier. Just what you wanted, right?"

"You know what I'm talking about."

Yeah, I know, just pretending for a bit.

Rudeus and I intentionally let Sylphiette befriend Eris for that reason. Now wherever she goes, she will drag both Rudeus and his future wife along. But it seems Eris actually proposing that idea herself before time ran out was an unimaginable success.

Paul didn't beat around the bush but went straight to the point. "I still don't support Rudeus staying with Sylphiette. If you and my son are like this, I won't let him go. So it will be useless."

"I think you're not really opposing it to that extent."

"What do you mean?" Paul raised an eyebrow.

"Because if you really opposed it, coming to talk to me would only be for me and Rudeus to find another way to deal with it." I replied calmly. "The fact that you speak directly like this means you also see that what we're doing makes sense and you want to discuss."

I learned psychological warfare with Ken and went negotiating with many merchants with Philip, so I also know a few tricks in negotiation. So Paul showing it here isn't strange. If I had to say, it's quite normal psychology.

Unless the opponent is stupid.

"Hmm, truly acting like a Water King huh?" So Paul isn't stupid.

My uncle now also relaxed, right next to me looking at the training ground in front, where Rudeus and Eris were sparring under Ghislaine's supervision. Although just started a new match, Eris seemed to have gained the upper hand and chased Rudeus around until Ghislaine had to intervene.

Poor guy. When you come to Roa, you will get that treatment daily, Rudeus.

"You know."

I turned to Paul with a bit of surprise as this was the first time I heard his voice so deep. Honestly, I found it a bit strange when suddenly his eyes looked thoughtful. Don't tell me he intends to confide something in me?

"I've always been very worried about Rudeus's future." Oh, he's really confiding. "Not because he's talented but because he's too talented. If not guided well, he will easily become a good-for-nothing like me."

"Aren't you an S-rank adventurer? Such achievements aren't bad. Being a guardian knight is even my dream."

"I'm not talking about achievements. I'm talking about character."

Actually, I knew, just asked for fun to let him say it. I'm not stupid enough to say 'Rudeus definitely won't become a person like you', that would be weird. And not necessarily, maybe later Rudeus really becomes a two-timer having affairs and stuff. I have a feeling Rudeus really wants a harem.

Because what guy after reincarnating doesn't want a harem.

I used to be like that too, can't deny. But as a Millis believer, I have to know how to keep morality, at least for now. And I'm also quite open-minded so I decided to have a youthful time playing around a bit and then get married and become a faithful husband later. And also because I'm quite open-minded, I can turn a blind eye to Paul having two wives; if someone was a hardcore Millis believer, they would have cursed Paul to hell for being immoral, even if they were just passersby.

But knowing oneself is wrong like that deserves a little praise. I thought Paul would be the type to be proud to the world for having two beautiful big-breasted wives. Turns out I misjudged someone again.

And speaking of this, I think I understand what Paul really means.

"You're afraid Rudeus will marry someone else instead of Sylphiette later, right?"

"Huh? Did Philip tell you?"

"It's just a guess."

Actually, I eavesdropped when Paul was still at the mansion; my ears are sharp, like a dog. I wouldn't easily pass up the chance to eavesdrop on what those two discussed. Pity I left before hearing Philip suggest I go to Buena, otherwise I would have had a whole extra night to plan.

"Actually, what you worry about isn't baseless. If that really happens, Sylphiette must be very desperate." I added.

Although only interacting for a day and a half, I could see that elf girl really depends too much on Rudeus. I even have a feeling that if I go to her now and say 'I'm taking Rudeus to Roa with me, you can see him in 5 years', I might eat a 'Sonic Boom' to the face. If I'm not dead after that, she might throw a 'Wind Slice' to slit my throat.

Yeah, Sylphiette clearly has a hidden yandere trait. Scary.

I don't know if Rudeus realizes that. With his otaku nature, I think he'll find it interesting to have a yandere waifu anyway. And with such a situation, I also saw separating them as a choice not only very grounded but could also be called wise.

Ironically, that was originally Paul's idea - the idea I tried to oppose.

"So I also thought your idea wasn't without reason. But instead of solving the problem by cutting the top, we should deal with the root. Sylphiette and Rudeus's problem lies in the fact that they only know each other; instead of separating, I want them to have more friends. The more friends, the less the burden of dependence."

That's also what I want Eris to have, more friends. She has absolutely no friends, so I can understand why I 'easily' got close like that (after losing some teeth). If this situation doesn't improve later, there's a high chance Eris will be used by others because of that isolation.

"And with more friends, especially true friends, then even if the scenario you worry about happens, both of them will be much better off." I continued, imagining a scenario of a girl lonely in her room. "Whereas now if you separate Sylphiette, she will be here alone, lonely and only knowing to miss Rudeus, then later if Rudeus marries someone else, the consequences could be even worse than before you intervened. That way, everything would be in vain."

That's what I really think. After all, if Rudeus goes to Roa alone, Sylphiette will also be isolated. That girl will certainly have a hard time making friends, especially when she has been discriminated against for such a long time. I don't know what the consequences of that will be, but being lonely is never a good thing. Especially for a child.

"So I really did 'persuade' Eris to take both Rudeus and Sylphiette." I confessed with a bow towards Paul. "And I hope you can help, for your son's friendship and happiness."

What I needed to do, I've done. Eris has considered Sylphiette and Rudeus as people who can be considered friends. Sylphiette has also opened up more to Eris. I also humbled myself to accept Paul's opinion and tried to guide this conversation from questioning to asking for help.

I've played all my cards; now is the time I need the consent of the most important character in the plan.

Paul didn't answer; he looked at me and was silent. Paul was thinking, and I knew the more he thought, the more he would see this arrangement as reasonable. He seems to be a lecher, with a slightly extreme way of raising children but still reasonable enough. That's why I put the most important final move in Paul's hands.

"Sigh..." Paul sighed. "I intentionally didn't discuss this with Rudeus for fear of being speechless by him. Turns out you're no less."

Well unlucky for you, he and I are the same type.

"Actually, as long as it's right, I think anyone saying it is the same. You're not an unreasonable person, Uncle." I looked at Paul and said.

"No need to flatter; I know you don't think much of me."

"If it was a few days ago, then yes." I said honestly. "You may be a bad father, but still a respectable one."

But after the sword fight and really talking seriously, I had a different view of Paul after truly understanding the situation. The saying 'you have to walk in someone else's shoes to understand' isn't wrong, is it?

"But how the future goes depends on your actions." I also added. "Hope I don't place respect in the wrong place."

"Hmph." Paul crossed his arms in dissatisfaction. "I think I misspoke; you're even glibber than Rudeus."

Because I've been trained; verbal sparring is a subject of the Water God Style. Although Rudeus didn't talk about his past, from what I perceive in him, maybe he's only around middle school or just started high school at most. Plus six, seven years in this new life, he must be just over twenty, so still very young.

"But I have to admit you're right." Paul sighed in admission. "Maybe I was a bit hasty."

"This is truly my uncle, unlike Pilemon."

"You really hate your father, don't you?"

"Do you hate Grandfather?" I asked.

"If not, I wouldn't have run away from home."

"Then let's hope that Rudeus won't be like us two." I said when I watched Rudeus be guided by Ghislaine in swordplay.

"He won't."

So I have a new ally, by both having bad fathers. And most importantly, having a common goal of protecting Rudeus and Sylphiette's future.

We sat and talked a bit more until breakfast.

Paul said letting Rudeus go with Sylphiette is no problem for him. But convincing that girl's family won't be easy.

Now I just heard about Sylphiette's family story. It seems Laws - this elf friend's father is someone from afar, having only one daughter. And letting his daughter go to such a big city is likely hard to accept.

But in the end, Paul is the one who decided to step up to talk.

The conversation at Sylphiette's house didn't go very easily.

As predicted, Laws initially didn't agree because Sylphiette was too young. But Paul, with his reasoning, also persuaded Laws to let his daughter go to Roa to 'study'.

Yeah, I used the name 'study' to take Sylphiette away.

As for the green-haired girl, she clearly had no objection to the plan to go to Roa. It seems as long as she's with Rudeus, anywhere is fine. She was even happy enough to hug her parents for letting her go with Rudeus.

While her parents were teary-eyed.

Of course, it's not like saying go and going easily. Sylphiette's family allowed her to go but she still has to go home occasionally. I also had that idea so everything was quite favorable. The plan is every two months there will be an occasion to go back to Buena for a few days. If it's winter, there will be a week-long break; I intended for longer like the Japanese school schedule but I worried letting Eris break for a whole month would make her forget everything.

So everything was decided.

Now it's time for the group to play to make the last day in Buena village worthwhile.

And coincidentally, it was the day of the summer festival.
