Red walked closely behind the Goblin Champions, or, to be more exact, they matched his pace. They were being careful around him, which he was not used to. In fact, this made him uncomfortable because this was his first experience being treated like this.
Aside from their overly protective treatment, he still couldn't believe that they actually returned to the village. The Chief was not the type to retreat if they still could fight. They still had a lot of hobgoblins, and more Goblin Champions. They still could fight one more time even if the kobolds brought their beasts, yet the Chief decided to go back.
For the first time, he heard about the Strategist as well. It seemed this Strategist was part of the Goblin King village and managed to convince the Chief to pull back.
They had achieved the goal of pulling back the kobold's force, lessening the burden from the other side. That was good, but it still didn't mean the war was over yet.
