Ana's POV
I pressed Morris about what was on his mind, but he just pulled back and clamped up, clearly too rattled to speak.
We headed for the exit and crashed straight into Ridley and Aileen at the doorway.
I was gripping Morris's hand, and we were practically attached at the hip.
Morris would dip down to murmur something in my ear now and then, and I'd lean closer, hanging on every word. Whatever he whispered made heat creep up my neck, and I pressed a kiss to his cheek. Morris looked like he'd won the lottery.
But Ridley, planted right there at the entrance, looked like he'd taken a blow to the stomach.
He didn't hesitate - just started marching straight toward us.
His expression was black as a storm cloud, fury radiating from every pore, his stare sharp enough to draw blood.
"What the hell are you doing?" Ridley bellowed, like he'd caught his wife red-handed with another man. A few people walking by slowed down to gawk.
Ridley looked ready to grab me.
