Ana's POV
The dinner dragged on exactly as I'd expected it would.
Following Morris's instructions, I sat quietly and focused on my meal.
Morris's business partner was a middle-aged woman who kept stealing glances at me.
After an uncomfortable stretch of silence, she finally spoke up. "I've seen reports online about Mr. Welch having a girlfriend. I assumed it was just tabloid nonsense, but apparently it's legitimate."
I lifted my head to meet her gaze.
Worried she might think Morris was mixing personal matters with business and showing me favoritism, I rushed to clarify, "Morris and I are in a relationship, but our professional interactions remain strictly business. He keeps his work and personal life completely separate."
The woman's lips curved into a smile. "I'm aware. I've collaborated with Mr. Welch for many years. I understand his character."
