I never thought our design proposal would actually get approved when Morris called me earlier.
For a split second, I figured Morris had pulled some strings behind the scenes.
But hearing that another studio's proposal got the green light too made me realize Morris hadn't given me any special treatment.
'So Morris really didn't do me any favors after all,' I mused.
After Morris and I nailed down our meeting time, I hung up, practically vibrating with excitement.

Niall disappeared and returned quickly.
He spilled every detail about Ana's bar encounter, leaving nothing out.
I slouched back in my chair, looking deceptively relaxed with a few shirt buttons undone, revealing a tantalizing glimpse of my chiseled chest. But my smile held pure venom—danger lurked beneath that casual facade.
