Chapter 12 - Insanity 3: A Mechanical Heart (2)

An individual artificial intelligence research project.

Project name: 'Absolute Childe'.

The robot entity will forever take the form of a child.

A child entity that always obeys its master, whom it will call "father" or "mother."

The Absolute Childe cannot disobey its master's orders.

Once the master's identity is registered in its data, the Absolute Childe can never betray and replace its master.

An object that projects the obedience of a child to its parent.

The subject can access any information it desires.

Information acquisition does not take a long time, but this also depends on the tightness of information security.

A further advancement for the subject is that the Absolute Childe possesses human-like emotions.

The Absolute Childe can develop very similarly to a human.

After the subject undergoes the final test and the master's data is added, the subject will awaken.

Upon awakening, the subject will behave like an ignorant child.

It will ask questions and make judgments.

The master's job is to guide it.

How the subject will act will depend on how it is guided.

The subject succeeded. Codename: Twelve.

"So, basically, they're creating a child."

"Even though they're designed to resemble human children, they have control."

"Unlike children who sometimes rebel against their parents. These will always obey."

"If they were going to impose unbreakable orders, why did they make these robots have emotions?"

In a quiet room, the blue-eyed man flipped through some documents he'd taken from the laboratory. He looked to the other side of the room.

There sat a figure. A little girl who looked about seven years old with violet hair. At first glance, she looked like a sleeping child. But unfortunately, she wasn't human.

["What about the mission?"]

"Successful. The target has been secured."

["Good. We'll hide for now. For the next three months, we won't contact each other, as our whereabouts will be tracked."]

"Understood. Then, what about the target?"

["You must have taken the manual, right? Just activate it and record what the subject actually looks like."]

["If it turns out to be dangerous, just destroy it."]

"Understood."

["If it's truly urgent, contact us manually."]

"Okay."

["Thank you. We're counting on you."]

The call ended.

"I'll find another place tomorrow. No need to go abroad." The man quickly packed his belongings and went to rest.

Somewhere far north, far from the city. A simple but beautiful house made of wood. The house used a fireplace to heat the room.

A man with ash-blonde hair and slightly gloomy blue eyes was cleaning the room. After everything was in order, the man opened the large black bag he was carrying. He took out something.

It was a robot in the form of a little girl with violet hair. The man sat her down in a chair. After reading the manual, he approached the robot.

"Once activated, this robot cannot be manually turned off. If you want it to die, it will be a death. Whether it's from the master's command or an external factor like an explosion."

"Should I activate it or just destroy it?"

"Yeah, but I'm also a little curious about what kind of thing they're making."

"Codename Twelve Activation."

[Command received.]

[ID confirmed.]

[Codename Twelve is now active.]

After the system was activated, the little girl robot opened her eyes. Her eyes were a beautiful, almost black purple.

She smiled.

"Hello, Father."

Her voice was truly that of a little girl. There was no mechanical squeal or annoying noise like other robots. There was a look of shock in the man's lifeless eyes.

"Is she really a robot?" The man thought.

On the top floor of Valley Science Technology, a middle-aged man with a wrinkled forehead and thinning hair threw down a book. He massaged his temples.

"How could it be stolen without even a trace?!" The man shouted.

"We apologize, sir." The man in the long white coat bowed his head.

"Even the research notes were burned!!"

"Do you know how much I invested in that research, huh?! That's half my fortune!! And even more!!"

"Once again, we apologize, sir."

"I don't want your apology."

"Listen here. Whatever happens, the subject must be found. And, you must memorize all the research data and rewrite it!"

"Go!"

"Yes, sir."

The man in the long white coat left the room.

In another laboratory room, several researchers gathered.

"We've been researching for twenty years. Even on that one, we've gone through so many failures."

"If we have to start all over again... This is brain-killing."

"Arrghh, why did that have to be stolen? At least don't burn the data too."

"Don't we have any backups at all?"

"Hmmm, I don't know. Maybe we do."

"Some will look for backups. And others will focus on finding a way to track it down."

"Okay."

It was nighttime in a house far from the city.

A little girl with violet hair was staring at the fireplace.

"Father, what's this?" The little girl asked the blue-eyed man, pointing to the fireplace.

"That's the fireplace." The man replied.

Although his face and words were expressionless, he felt quite awkward.

"A fireplace..." The little girl muttered.

["Search: fireplace."]

["Function: Heats the room, provides lighting, dehumidifies the room, heats water, and even cooks."]

["The materials used are firewood and kerosene."]

["Has a chimney to release smoke so as not to disturb the occupants of the house."]

["..."]

The little girl voice now sounded a bit like a software program. She was analyzing a lot of information about an object.

The man looked surprised, his eyes slightly wide. After finishing speaking, the little girl looked at him.

["Analysis."]

["Wide-open eyes, slightly paused breathing, unfocused gaze, crossed arms tightly clasped together."]

["Father is surprised."]

"Why are you surprised, Father?" After finishing her analysis, the little girl voice returned to normal.

The man was momentarily at a loss for how to respond. After quickly calming his thoughts, he sighed softly.

"I'm surprised by you." The man replied.
