Chapter 3 - Chapter 3

The two stand up from their respective stations and meet each other face-to-face. There were still a few seconds of silence before Ye Xiu decided to offer him a hand.

"Congratulations! You won, that was an impressive game."

His face, which is still hidden by a cap, only shows a faint smile. But he didn't shy away and accepted his handshake.

"Thanks, you played well."

"Here's the bet..."

Ye Xiu handed over 100 yuan, his hard-earned money, which he had just borrowed and was given later as an early salary. He planned to use it to buy cigarettes, but it was gone just like that. Ye Xiu wanted to cry.

"Oh... sorry, I wanted to take your money. But you don't know how to play..." He said jokingly, his lips curled into a sly smile.

Wasn't it the same words she said to Tang Rou earlier?

"Hahaha! It looks like you got karma!" This made Chen Guo laugh in amusement. It was bad, and she shouldn't be laughing, but it was just funny.

Even Tang Rou was no exception, but she held herself, not that she knew how he felt! Instead, her gaze shifted to the person who defeated Ye Xiu.

This guy... have i seen him before?

Tang Rou wasn't certain, but she didn't think much and put the thought at the back of her head.

Meanwhile, Chen Guo kept on laughing uncontrollably and slapped his shoulder. A trace of black lines formed across Ye Xiu's forehead. He truly knew how to play with people.

"Boss..." Ye Xiu felt helpless.

Seeing this, he decided to help.

"Haha! Relax, I'm just kidding. To be honest, I only bet when I am a challenger. I accept money when I am accepting a challenge."

"I see... then, should I challenge you this time?" Ye Xiu issued another match, but he simply shook his head in refusal.

"We already agreed; it's only a single game. Besides, I'm going to lose the next challenge. The second match will only be a matter of ego and not winning or losing. I don't think you are affected by that."

"Yeah... You were right!" Ye Xiu only nodded.

"Alright enough! You guys can go!" Chen Guo protested.

"Boss... We wanted to see more."

"No! There will be no rematch! Hurry up and leave!"

Seeing there's nothing more interesting happening, the crowd reluctantly dispersed while they had a short discussion. The match was over; what was there left to see? Some wanted to know the answer to how it ended; some already had ideas but kept it to themselves. Some wanted to see another round, but they were unlikely to, so it was better to play their game than stay here.

The mystery man, he put on his headset and continued using the computer, although he logged out of GLORY and was only browsing the internet.

Tang Rou occupied the seat next to Ye Xiu, and Chen Guo stood between them. When the crowd was gone, Chen Guo knew it was time for interrogation, so she nudged Ye Xiu.

"Hey, can you tell me what happened? How did you lose?"

Tang Rou, browsing the internet, was also all ears. To think someone who defeated her in 30 seconds will be defeated in 40 seconds. It's worth listening to. There were no recordings, so it was impossible to fully review things for them, so he made a summary.

"Theres not much to say... He stalled time while waiting for his chance to use Teleportation and Vital Strike to end me."

"Is that it?"

Chen Guo was astonished; she knew what Vital Strike was. It was an exclusive skill for the Assassin class after reaching an awakened stage at level 50, where the user could exchange his life points for equivalent damage, a true damage that ignores defense.

"That summarizes everything... what do you want to know more about?"

"How come you only use Launcher and Blade Master skills? Wouldn't that change the outcome if you used more?" Chen Guo stared at him dumbfounded. This was bothering her, when Tang Rou duel Ye Xiu showed different skills and weapons, but this time his option was limited. She was expecting more pf his reasoning than a simple explanation.

"Not really..."

Meanwhile, Ye Xiu only looks at her as if she's asking an obvious question.

Chen Guo felt her face redden. "What? Did I ask something wrong?"

"You are really..." Ye Xiu only sighed and continued. "He was already aware of what I can do that's why he chooses to maintain a distance, and he had the patience to keep doing that forever..."

"Was that really the reason...? Whatever, I won't asked more question but you still, didn't answer one thing!"

"What is it?"

"How come he can use Teleportation?"

Ye Xiu pondered for a moment, not coming up with a proper reasoning behind the science of silver equipment. He only gave his thoughts.

"I'm thinking it's related to his equipment; you probably didn't notice, but he had a silver weapon."

"A silver weapon?"

Chen Guo mouth wide a gape, her jaw almost reaches the ground.

Tang Rou was having trouble catching up with them; she pulled Chen Guo's blazer like a kid asking a mother for a favor.

"Guo Guo, what's a silver weapon?"

"A silver weapon... is a self-made weapon." Chen Guo started.

"In GLORY they have different equipment, with orange being the best. But there's greater equipment, that is the silver weapon! It doesn't drop on bosses or anything its unobtainable and the only way to get them is create one yourself using the equipment editor... In GLORY, they even had a saying: 'A self-made weapon isn't necessarily the best, but the best weapon must be self-made.'"

Chen Guo explained but didn't go through complicated details; if she pointed out the difficulty of creating it, Tang Rou might lose money by buying materials.

"Still, I'm surprised that a weapon can have extra skill from a different class. This is unheard of even in the alliance." Ye Xiu pointed out another piece of crucial information.

"Unheard of it? Does that mean... even pro players with backers didn't know this?" Chen Guo questioned him, which he answered with a firm nod.

It was true even though the most talented hadn't discovered that additional skill slot from another class in a weapon, at least not yet. Because if they did, it would revolutionize GLORY.

"Who in the world is he? A pro player? You've been in the pro alliance before; have you ever heard of him?"

"No." Ye Xiu shook his head in denial and expressed his thoughts about her questions with reasonable explanations. "I don't think he is in the pro alliance; they don't allow anyone to make a public appearance and wander around carrying an important GLORY account like that."

"That's true..."

"Besides... if you wanted to know more why you don't ask him yourself?" Ye Xiu said, while pointing his finger behind Chen Guo.

Chen Guo turned around and saw the person they were talking to right beside them. "Did he hear us?" Luckily, he was wearing a headset, so he didn't probably.
