"Expert my ass! Is this guy stupid? He had an advantage in close quarters against a Launcher yet is not utilizing it.
As a fellow Assassin user, I'm ashamed of you!"
An onlooker spoke, which earned the disdain of many. This type of player is those who don't understand the game and think they were better because they only watch from the sidelines.
"Shut up and just watch!" Chen Guo had enough of his nonsense and yelled.
The guy flinched and shrank at the backside.
"I wasn't wrong though..."
In the arena...
Ye Xiu had Lord Grim continuously firing bullets, which were being dodged by No Name with ease. This game of cat and mouse was meaningless; if they kept it up, the fight would be a stalemate. But No Name refused to take the initiative, knowing the big risk in fighting close quarters against an Unspecialized; he chooses to prolong the fight.
So Ye Xiu acted first; his cannon weapon morphed into an umbrella, the default state, and became a Blade Master's sword in a fraction of a second. Lord Grim charged towards him, initiating a Blade Master skill Sword Draw, intending to fight in close quarters, where he could deploy combos.
"Ah! Yes, here it is!" The audience exclaimed.
However, the mystery man understood Ye Xiu's intention and refused the invitation. Instead of blocking or countering, No Name chose to distance himself from Lord Grim.
"This guy…... oh no..... Why is he running away again?"
"You idiot! Didn't you see the match earlier?"
He scorned, "Lord Grim has different skills from each class; he is more specialized in close combat than the Assassin. If No Name trade blows, he would be at a disadvantage!"
"Is that so?"
"We are talking about 120 skills here!"
"Then, how can he deal with Lord Grim?"
"That's what I want to know too! So shut up and watch!"
The never-ending game of chase continued. Although it was boring, the onlookers' curiosity was stronger. They wanted to know he would deal with Lord Grim.
The answer will be clear soon. Lord Grim's assault forcibly engaged him in fighting at close quarters. The map was small, and No Name couldn't run away forever. So, he had to bite the bullet and fight back.
"They are finally at it!"
The audience shouted in excitement. They knew how good these two players were when they exchanged blows earlier. It was mainly Lord Grim attacking, but no HP was taken from No Name.
Was it impressive? Yes!
Lord Grim's spear thrust forward, aiming at the charging No Name. Ye Xiu controlled his mouse pointer to No Name's head with precision when he activated the Dragon Tooth. This increased the chances of an attack landing and avoided.
However, the mystery man made a few quick taps on his keyboard, and No Name tilted his head just enough to narrowly dodge the edge of the spear.
"WHAT!? How?"
This precise display of micro-control could only be seen in pro matches. Everyone stared at him in awe.
"Who in the world is this guy fighting?"
It's only the beginning!
No Name stepped forward and ducked before activating an Assassin skill, Cutthroat, as a counter. The distance was perfect, but Ye Xiu switched weapons!
His Thousand-Chance Umbrella morphed into a gun and fired several shots, which levitated his character. Using the recoil, it pushed him away before the attack could land.
"Aerial Fire!" Chen Guo clenched her fist; She knows this skill; any Launcher was! Having the slowest class, they often used it for fast movement.
When his skill was missed, No Name predicted the upcoming attack and prepared to activate another skill. He judged that it was the perfect time to use his trump card.
Ye Xiu, who gained distance, followed up the Aerial Fire with three artillery shots, aiming at No Name.
"Tri-shot!"
This type of skill Launchers normally used was just a single Anti-Tank Missile or two, since if the timing was wrong, the skill would explode and cancel each other but with enough APM and experience, they could make it into three.
However, before they landed, No Name disappeared, literally. Some of the audiences were shocked because an unthinkable thing happened.
Looking at his screen, No Name's location had changed. He was midair right behind Lord Grim with his character performing an awakened skill, Vital Strike! No Name holds his dagger in X pattern aim at Lord Grim's nape before swinging it in opposite direction as if beheading a titan.
GLORY!
A thin line was drawn on his screen, followed by the winning GLORY logo. Seeing this, they knew the match was over. Lord Grim had lost, but they didn't know how.
"What just happened!?"
"It's over!"
"Really, when?"
"How long was that? It's not a full minute right!?"
It was a truly shocking event. Ye Xiu was no exception either his hands holding keyboard and mouse tremble, because the reason for his disappearance was Teleportation, an exclusive Mage skill.
How in the world could he use it? Isn't he an Assassin?
But thinking for a while, Ye Xiu figured it out; his conclusion was silver equipment that had a skill slot.
"Hey, are you okay?"
When the match ended, Chen Guo was the first to rush to Ye Xiu. Seeing him in a daze worried her; this match was unexpectedly fast.
"Yeah!" He only gave a slight nod.
Contradictory to her worry, though, Ye Xiu didn't seem concerned in the slightest, which put her at ease. In fact, there was a bit of joy in his eyes, as if Ye Xiu had discovered an island full of treasure.
But that wasn't Chen Guo's only concern; she was also curious how it suddenly ended way too fast.
"What happened? Do you know how you lost?"
"He used Teleportation, combined with Vital Strike..."
This pretty much summarized the event, but there were so many unexplained things. However, seeing Ye Xiu's expression, she decided to wait for him to explain it later; probably now was not the right time.
An Assassin with a teleportation skill was unheard of. Chen Guo wasn't that dumb. Although she couldn't figure out the logic behind it, she knew this wasn't the right place to talk about it.
