Chapter 2 - Chapter 2: Ghost Spear

Aiden looked at the panel in front of him and was stunned for a moment.

The Hundred Lives Book, you can come back to life after dying. And you can also reset time and get a power from your previous life.

After this resurrection, he could clearly feel his body had gotten a little better, probably because his Constitution increased by 1.

"Want us to walk into Death Cavern and die? Dream on. Everyone, run!"

A loud shout, and a big guy ran out of the crowd.

Just like last time, the guy died again under a soldier's sword.

Blood flowed, Aiden had prepared for it, but seeing this still made his skin crawl.

He couldn't help but think of the scary skeleton monsters in the cave.

The danger wasn't over, he had to find a way to escape, or even with the Hundred Lives Book, it wouldn't help.

The crowd was threatened by soldiers and went back into the cave again.

Aiden stayed at the back, thinking about how to escape.

But the soldiers were too well protected, there was no chance to run.

He had a stronger body now, but against these fully armed soldiers, he still had no chance.

Fire rose, the soldiers lit torches, and everything was the same as before.

"Right, the platform."

Aiden remembered when he was about to die, there was a platform in the cave, and everyone ran to it for safety.

It wasn't completely safe, but at least they wouldn't die right away.

Thinking about this, he walked toward the crowd, not running in front, but not staying at the back either.

At this moment, a low roar came, and those scary skeleton spirits appeared.

"Fuck! Demons!"

"Run!"

The crowd got nervous and ran backward in a panic.

"Stop retreating!" The soldier shouted and attacked again, killing the people who ran back. These people were like grass to them.

Aiden watched coldly, scanned the area, found the platform, and shouted immediately, "Everyone, climb up the platform!"

He didn't run out, stayed in the crowd, used people around him to block the skeleton spirits as much as possible.

"Right, climb up the platform, we can stop these scary skeleton monsters." Aiden reminded. Someone noticed the platform nearby, and a few people holding torches ran forward first.

A low roar, no surprise, those people were killed by the skeleton spirits.

But at least the skeleton spirits weren't too many, the soldiers behind fought back and managed to hold them off.

Aiden moved through the crowd, dodging left and right, looking really messy, but he finally made it to the platform.

Princess Daisy also climbed up the platform with the help of soldiers and guards.

In just a short time, more than seventy people were dead, including eight soldiers.

A low roar, the skeleton spirits below rushed up the platform, some people were so scared they fell to the ground and wet themselves.

The soldiers looked down on them, swung their long knives, used the terrain to easily block the skeleton spirits.

But it wasn't a long-term solution.

Aiden looked around, searching for a way out, hoping to break out of the cave.

The way back was blocked by these skeleton monsters, there was no way to escape.

"Hey, there's a spear here!"

A surprised voice came from the corner of the platform, where a long, black and heavy spear lay.

One person ran out first, trying to pick up the spear to fight the skeleton soldiers.

"Oh my God!"

A scream, as soon as the man grabbed the spear, his body shook, his face full of pain, wrinkles quickly spread on his forehead, and then his body shriveled up, turning into a dry corpse right away.

This weird scene scared everyone again.

"What the hell is that?" one soldier asked, suspicious, stepped forward and kicked the dry body, then bent down to pick up the spear.

"Don't touch it!" Daisy suddenly spoke, her eyebrows furrowed, and said: "It's the Ghost Spear. It's cursed, don't touch it."

Aiden was in the crowd, also trying to grab the spear in the chaos. He could tell this spear was special.

When he heard Daisy's voice, he stopped.

"Ghost Spear? Princess, what is that?" one soldier asked, saying what was on his mind.

Daisy looked at the black spear, her eyes shining, then sighed helplessly and explained: "It's the weapon of the legendary Black Dragon Knight Alexander. I didn't expect it to be left here."

"The weapon of the Black Dragon Knight Alexander."

A few soldiers cried out, looking at the spear with excitement and greed.

Aiden was completely lost, he had never heard of a黑龙 Knight before.

Then Xingchen continued: "Alexander was killed by a demon god. The Ghost Spear had no master. Anyone who touched it could become its owner. But the demon god cast a curse on it. Anyone who touched the spear would lose their life immediately. This curse is the demon god's power, even the Grand Magus couldn't stop it."

"So no one can ever get the Ghost Spear's approval?" one soldier asked, angry and upset.

Maybe someone higher than the Grand Magus could resist the curse, but those people would never care about this weapon.

Xingchen nodded, looking at the broken bones around the spear. It was clear the previous owner tried to use the skeleton spirits to break the curse, but failed in the end.

When Aiden heard this, his eyes lit up.

Touching the spear could make you its owner, but it would kill you with the curse.

But he had the Hundred Lives Book, right? He could die and come back. If the Ghost Spear kept taking his life, he could just give up the spear.

The Ghost Spear wasn't just an ordinary weapon. He decided to take the risk.

Aiden quickly stepped forward and bent down to grab the spear.

"Kid, you want to die?" a soldier shouted, but it was too late to stop him.

So heavy!

Aiden felt the weight in his hand, and for a moment, he couldn't lift it. Before he could try again, his life force quickly disappeared. He could feel his hand quickly shriveled up, as if his flesh and blood were being eaten away.

His mind became fuzzy, and he barely heard someone telling him to let go, but it was already too late.

[BIP, Second Life Ended; Died from Demon God's Curse]

[Can Manifest Item: Ghost Spear; Manifest it? ]

It really works!

Aiden was surprised, and without hesitation, he chose to manifest it.

[BIP, Second Life Gained Ghost Spear]

[Do you want to choose a resurrection point? Default is before your death]

"Choose the resurrection time point." Aiden hesitated for a moment, then changed the time point, choosing the moment when he just climbed onto the platform.

Suddenly!

The screen in front of him shifted, and the next moment, he was back on the platform, with everyone scrambling to climb up.

Aiden didn't pay attention, but he felt his life force wasn't disappearing anymore, so he let out a small sigh of relief.

He rushed toward where the Ghost Spear was, now that it was his, it shouldn't have any backlash, right?

"There's nothing?"

Aiden was stunned. The platform was empty, and the Ghost Spear was gone, leaving only a pile of bones where it had been.

"No, it's inside me!" he screamed, feeling clearly that there was a spear inside his body, like it was just a thought away from appearing.

That was amazing!

Aiden was surprised and shocked, thinking only legendary weapons could do that.

The Ghost Spear was definitely not ordinary.

"Quick! Block those skeleton spirits." the leader soldier said coldly, his sword flashing as he smashed a Skeleton Spirit's skull, easily defending the platform.

The crowd relaxed.

Daisy's eyes sparkled, her voice excited: "There aren't too many Skeleton Spirits left here. Let's finish them fast, or we'll attract more monsters."

"Yes." the soldiers answered, forming a formation with more than sixty people and easily killing the Skeleton Spirits.

"It seems like after my resurrection, only I remember what just happened." Aiden muttered to himself.

He chose the resurrection point before someone found the Ghost Spear, so now no one knew it even existed.

Aiden still stayed in the crowd, thinking about how to escape.

Each Skeleton Spirit was being taken down, maybe there was a chance to run out.

But he immediately gave up the idea. Even if he had the Ghost Spear, he probably couldn't beat these soldiers, it was too risky.

He didn't want to waste a resurrection on these guys.

A low roar, the last Skeleton Spirit was killed.

The area fell silent, leaving only broken bones behind. Everyone sighed in relief.

"Let's keep moving. Let them go first." Daisy's light voice sounded like a demon in Aiden's ears.

Now only eleven civilians were left, and another ten or so had died to the Skeleton Spirits.

Before Aiden and the others could do anything, the soldiers threatened them with weapons, and they had no choice but to walk deeper into the cave.

Luckily, no monsters showed up ahead, and they made it all the way to the deepest part of the cave.

A dark light flickered, and a man in a black robe was sitting cross-legged in the deepest part of the stone room.

Aiden and the others stopped, their guard up, not daring to move forward.

"It's really him!" Daisy's voice came from behind.

She didn't rush forward, her eyes scanning, then she pointed at Aiden nearby and ordered, "You go check it out."

"Me?"

Aiden was stunned, wanting to fight back, but seeing two soldiers step forward with cold looks, he had no choice but to obey.
