CHAPTER 3 — The Vareon Legacy (Age 2)
The Vareon Clan was old — older than the Hunter Association, older than recorded Nen theory itself.
Their archives contained battle logs from eras before aura had a name.
Arctus guided little Kael through the Hall of Hunts, walls lined with murals of past Vareon warriors hunting beasts that dwarfed modern Chimera Ants.
"Your blood is heavy with expectation," Arctus said.
"Do not disappoint it."
"I won't," Kael replied simply. "They look weak anyway."
Arctus blinked. "…Those beasts could destroy nations."
Kael shrugged. "Then the nations were weak too."
His arrogance was not taught.
It was simply who he was.
