The Prophecy of Gum-Gum
Chapter 1
Post-timeskip
An unknown Island in the Grand Line
"Oi! Luffy!". A voice called from above him. Luffy looked up to see Usopp staring at him. "Oi, Luffy! What are you doing down there?"
The wind blew as Luffy's kimono, strewn with a beautiful red fabric, with hues of blue and white clouds on it. Luffy smiles and says,"Nothing, just wanna stay down here a bit".
"Oh, alright!", says Usopp, already disappearing from view. "We'll be down in a sec!"
"Alright!"
The sea moves greacefully, the wind sending gently ripples across its surface.
Ace..Luffy thinks, determination and a hint of something else written all over his face. I will become the King of the Pirates!! I will avenge your death! I will..Luffy's eyes swell with tears. His brothers face, smiling and happy, surfaces in his mind. Ace..
The crows caw as evening dawns. The sun begins to set as the light fades from Luffy's surroundings. He bites his lower lip, hard, determined not to cry. I promise you that, Ace!!
In a hut close to Navy Headquarters
In The Grand Line
"So", says a voice, her voice serious. "Straw Hat finally making a big name for himself, eh?"
"Seems so", says another voice, flipping pages of a Newspaper. "The idiot can't help himself but get in more and more trouble every passing day."
"Well, it's not like that isn't part of your doing now, Garp.", says the first voice. "He is your grandson after all."
Garp sets down the Newspaper and picks up his tea mug. "Yeah, and an idiot one at that. I'm so proud of him.", he says happily.
"You really are bipolar.", says Grandma Garp, adjusting her eyeglasses on her nose. "One day you tell me that you wish he wasn't your grandson, another day you tell me you wish he wasn't a pirate, and then other times you tell me this." She blows on the lens of her glasses. "Make up your mind for once."
"With that brat I really can't.", Garp says matter-of-factly. "Look what happened to Ace."
Grandma Garp stiffened. "Don't..mention that boys name in front of me." Her voice gets shaky. "You know how I get."
Garp immediately apologises, regretting it. "Oh, my bad, Allen.", he says, giving her a tissue. "But I worry that what happened to Ace will happen to Luffy too."
"DON'T!!", Allen says, letting out a choked sob. "Just..don't."
Garp stays quiet, letting her calm down. Luffy..don't become what your brother did, Garp thinks, his fists tightening. Don't make the same mistake Ace did, Luffy!! Because once you do..death is the only future you will ever know!
Next chapter releases on the 17th of November! (which is today lol)
