Athena POV
" What did you say ?" My eyes and mouth were wide open at what I just heard.
I cleaned my ears and eyes to be sure I heard well and the person speaking before me was Alpha Liam .
I pinched myself hoping this was not a dream and it was actually the Alpha saying these things to me.
Everyone knew the alpha dislikes women especially those from the lower cadre.
Seeing the shocked look on my face ,he smirked .
" Will you help me find the sanctuary? " he asked with an emotionless look on his face.
" What was he saying? Is this a kind of joke ?
His words sank into my heart cutting deep like a dagger and all I wanted was to disappear from this world.
Many questions lingered on my mind though I have heard of this sanctuary but nobody knows what exactly it looked like or its location.
Whoever had the sanctuary hadthe ultimate control to rule over mankind.
" I don't know what you are talking about" I muttered while he used his hand to wipe the sweat from my forehead .
" What are you trying to do ?" He leaned closer and pressed a peck on my cheeks.
Heat climbed up slowly into my body.
My face instantly turned red. His hot breath against my cheeks made me blush so hard .
and I pulled away from him, averting my gaze.
Gasps rolled through the room.

I looked around the bedroom and the people in front of me were giggling blushing like lost puppies.
I closed my eyes tightly like lightning had struck me. My headwas buzzing trying to swallow his actions.
I paced back and forth in the room on why Alpha Liam would choose me despite having numerous strong she-wolves who were up to the task.
" No rush, you can sleep over it and give it a deep thought" his expression was cold, walking away briskly to the front door and quietly closed the door behind him.
" What the hell is he saying ?" My main goal was to find my wolf but now I was trapped with an alpha who I never knew.
" What have I gotten myself into ?" His statement kept ringing in my head till I slept off.
I woke up to the scent of cinnamon and flower petals filling the room. My vision began to clear and I looked around revealing was inside an extravagant bathtub with many maids at my service.
Warm water pressed against my skin soothing my tense nerves.Gentle fingers made their way from my hair down to my body . I let out a soft sound of comfort.
" What's happening here?" I asked one of the maids but they remained silent.
" I asked you a question" my voice was sharp but they glanced at me briefly before continuing their task.
" The Alpha had ordered us to take care of you" my heart raced as I processed the situation .
Fear twisted in my gut unsure of what Liam was planning.
Why was he doing this ?
The maids finished bathing me and dressed me in an emerald gown which was designed with colorful stripes.
Right now,I felt the feeling of love I had always longed for since childhood.
" Miss you shouldn't stress yourself, you are still recovering yourhealth" I heard a thin voice piercing through the air behind me .
I turned around to check who it was Lily ,the head maid who had been assigned to take care of the needs.
She stepped closer, assisting me to the plush cushion.
" Drink this" she said as I sat down and she handed me a glass of water which was placed on the table.
I pressed the lid of the cup against my lips emptying the contents into my tummy, relaxing my nerves.
" Thank you" I looked at Lily who was staring blankly at me with her hands folded at her back .
Just then ,tons of maids filled in carrying different delicacies. Thedelicacies. The aroma was freshly scented which pierced my nose.
" " What is this? " I inquiredwith curiosity staring at the dishes layered Infront of me.
I looked around all eyes on me as I spoke.
These are medicinal delicacies to help you regain your health" Lily informed me.
Me ? I was puzzled cleaning my ears making sure I heard right.
" Nothing is wrong with me " I said firmly.
" The doctor strongly advised the alpha that you could not take any other meals apart from this " she explained.
" Please miss take a bite or the alpha won't spare us " she pleaded with me who remained unfazed.
All the maids fell on their knees like their lives depended on this.
I looked at the meals but I needed my strength if I wanted to find my wolf.
" Alright I will try" I picked up the chop sticks carefully dipping it inside my plate.
" This is sumptuous " I took a bite but I couldn't stop eating.
" Is this a dream ?'" I rubbed my eyes to make sure I was seeing correctly.
I couldn't believe the meals were made from medicinal herbs but they tasted too good to be true.
" This is delicious" I commended the work of the pack kitchen which had delivered a great job.
This was the best meal I had ever tasted in my entire life. All I got in the house was leftovers. At most times I went to bed hungry.
The delicacies were layered on the table which were exquisite dishes which I had never seen before.
" Miss let me help you " Nora tasted all the dishes to make sure that it was free from harmful substances which could damage my body.
" Go on miss " she bowed her head respectfully and signalled others to leave.
" This tastes good" I commended the pack kitchen efforts
" The Alpha wants you to join him in the garden " a maid announced as I widened my eyes cleaning the corners of my mouth after eating my breakfast.
" What could that be?" I said my heart was beating rapidly.
I quickly stood up ,strode out towards the garden . The garden was filled with flowers of different species each adding a natural glow to the beauty.
The air was thick,violent his presence was unmistakable.
He sat on one of the garden swings closing his eyes tightly deeply engrossed in thoughts, the warm breeze blowing across his face .
I was captivated by his beauty. His eyes were drawn to something I couldn't decipher
His earthly fragrance was strong,rich intoxicating and utterly overwhelming.
It melted me completely causing me to be drowning in thoughts.
Before I could say anything else,he snapped out of his thoughts and sprang to his feet .
My heart kicked against my ribs standing breathlessly opposite the warm spring. His eyes were burning .
I was terrified ,my arms were trembling, my blood ran cold as he stepped forward towards me.
" Follow me " he muttered moving sharply forward, never sparing a glance to look at me.
His steps were swift while I struggled to catch up with him.
We got to a place that was filled with different equipment and I saw several people dressed in their training kit their eyes fixed on me the moment we walked in simultaneously.
I never had the knowledge about the basic pack history or anything all I did was running errands while others went to school.
" Who is she ?" I heard murmurs rippling among the crowd as we moved nearer where they were practicing.
Welcome Alpha " they greeted us warmly lowering their heads.
" You may all rise now "he said, helping me to the chair sitting beside me.
I settled on the cushion while he straightened my muscles helping me to relax comfortably.
My instincts told me that this was the training ground because all the pack members assembled here all showing off their body movements.
I could tell easily at a glance that these were elite warriors because their movements were swift dodging and countering attacks from their sparring partners.
" " Just focus you will gain a thing or two "he whispered into my ear and this action immediately sparked jealousy from the female warriors in the pack.
" I don't even know what this is.How am I supposed to learn? "I inquired from him but he didn't respond.
I watched in protest.
A man stepped forward his face beaming with smiles as he held his spear swinging in position.
I felt that these two were sworn enemies their glances with each other was more of disdain nothing else.
" Stop the two of you " The Alpha spoke and I felt heat radiating from him his eyes were burning which made me feel uneasy.
" That's all for today you are all dismissed"his eyes cold and merciless.
Everyone began to disperse only leaving two of us.
" If you want my protection then you have to sign this" he declared tossing a document at me.
