After some discussion, Vegeta finally understood why Jaco and Tights had returned.
The Galactic Patrol had recently received intelligence confirming that Frieza and King Cold had been eliminated, and that their forces had collapsed. The matter also involved Bulma.
Concerned, Tights contacted her sister. After learning that Bulma was now together with Vegeta, she felt uneasy and decided to return in person.
"That's why," Bulma said seriously, "you absolutely must not make things difficult for Jaco."
She had clearly sensed subtle changes in Vegeta's expression and worried he might target Jaco.
After all, Vegeta had once served under Frieza. It was only natural to assume he might hold resentment toward the Galactic Patrol.
"Relax," Vegeta replied calmly. "As long as he doesn't offend me, I won't act."
"Frieza and King Cold are dead. There is no longer any direct conflict between me and the Galactic Patrol."
"If anything, they should thank me. With those two gone, far fewer planets will be destroyed."
His words were blunt.
Jaco couldn't refute a single point.
As a Galactic Patrolman, he knew the truth.
The Frieza Force had ravaged the universe for decades.
The Patrol could only watch helplessly.
Only in recent years had Merus begun actively intercepting criminals and daring to challenge forces like Frieza's.
"Then can you guarantee you won't become the same kind of tyrant?" Jaco asked seriously, though his small stature made him look unintentionally comical.
Vegeta's lips curved slightly.
"Where there is light, there is darkness. Nothing is absolute."
"But under my rule, the universe will not be as chaotic as it was."
"I believe him," Bulma said firmly, standing at his side. "And I'll help him."
Vegeta glanced at her.
"You don't need to prove anything to him. Compared to what we're building, the Galactic Patrol has no right to judge us."
Jaco's mentality nearly exploded.
Yet… it wasn't wrong.
If the Patrol had been effective, Frieza wouldn't have ruled so long.
"Oh, and one more correction," Vegeta added. "It's not just Frieza and King Cold's forces."
"Cooler was defeated on Namek by Kakarot."
"From today onward, the era of galactic emperors is over."
"I will reclaim Cooler's territory as well."
"Only complete unification can bring lasting peace."
The ambition was unmistakable.
Rule the universe.
Just phrased more elegantly.
Jaco froze.
Cooler was dead too?
Tights, however, lit up internally.
As a sci-fi adventure novelist, she instantly saw a story.
A fallen Saiyan prince.
Humiliated.
Enduring.
Rising.
Destroying tyrants.
Uniting the cosmos.
Achieving peace.
An old trope—but elevated to galactic scale.
If written well, it would become a bestseller across the universe.
She said nothing aloud.
But her mind was already plotting.
The group moved inside.
Tea was poured. Snacks were served.
The two sisters reunited, chatting animatedly while Dr. Brief and his wife listened with smiles and occasional concern.
Vegeta stayed out of the center.
This was their time.
He stood near the window in quiet thought.
Across the room, Jaco occasionally glanced at him.
The intelligence files described Vegeta as ruthless and bloodthirsty.
But the man before him…
Was different.
Perhaps the Supreme Kai's concerns were excessive?
Jaco shook his head.
It was too early to conclude anything.
Vegeta's past sins were not few.
Soon, Tights excused herself.
The long space journey had exhausted her.
Originally, she hadn't planned to stay long—but inspiration had struck.
She would remain for a while, gather information, and refine her next novel.
That was excellent news for the Brief family.
A welcome banquet was immediately planned for the evening.
Jaco, meanwhile, decided to remain on Earth temporarily.
His mission was to observe Vegeta.
After settling Jaco into a guest room, Bulma returned to Vegeta's side.
Tights had her old room.
Though she hadn't returned for years, it was still home.
"Oh, right," Bulma said suddenly. "You mentioned Goku defeated Cooler. Does that mean the Namek crisis is over?"
"More or less," Vegeta replied. "The Namekians should be safe for a long time."
"That's wonderful!" Bulma smiled. "So everyone can come back?"
"You want me to bring them back with Instant Transmission," Vegeta said bluntly.
Bulma pouted slightly.
"Chi-Chi has been contacting me almost every day. She looks exhausted."
"I brought Gohan to Namek… and now I'm back, but he's still there."
"I can go," Vegeta said. "But they won't return."
"What?"
"Kakarot will follow the path I took."
"They'll go to Planet Yardrat."
"Even if I pick them up, they'll ask me to send them there."
Bulma sighed.
"You're right… Maybe I shouldn't tell Chi-Chi yet."
"If you can't refuse her, I can send her there to reunite with them."
Bulma hesitated.
"Knowing Chi-Chi… that might create more chaos."
Vegeta said nothing further.
That was for her to decide.
Dr. Brief then updated him on Dr. Gero.
For over a month, investigations had yielded nothing concrete.
Gero moved constantly.
West City today.
South City tomorrow.
Another continent the next.
Like a rat.
"It seems we'll have to lure him out," Vegeta muttered.
Brief nodded.
"We'll organize a technology seminar soon."
"Announce advancements in artificial intelligence," Vegeta suggested. "Claim breakthroughs in android development."
"He won't resist."
Brief agreed.
They then shifted to the Time Machine.
Repairs were complete.
Only energy remained a problem.
The crystals Vegeta had recovered deep underground were confirmed as a key component.
But refinement remained incomplete.
"The equipment isn't precise enough," Bulma said. "We need better instruments."
"You've already achieved a lot in one month," Vegeta replied. "There's time."
Bulma smiled faintly.
"The diluted energy works as a new sustainable power source."
"It may become mainstream in the future."
Vegeta didn't fully grasp the technicalities.
But if Bulma said so—it would happen.
Later, Vegeta stepped outside.
He didn't want to disturb the banquet preparations.
As he walked through the streets, he noticed flowers everywhere.
Couples chatting.
Heart-shaped decorations.
Slogans posted across walls.
May 20th.
The same romantic meaning existed here.
He paused.
Bulma had done so much.
And he had prepared nothing.
Without hesitation, Vegeta used Instant Transmission to Planet 79.
Inside the vaults were mountains of treasures once collected by the Frieza Force.
All now belonged to him.
With Hera's guidance, Vegeta selected an exquisite gemstone necklace set—crafted from rare cosmic jewels.
Perfect for Bulma.
He returned quietly.
Tonight—
He would not disappoint her.
