"Are you going to do it?"
Eugene said he would think about it, but after a few days of hearing nothing, Arthur finally asked his husband directly as they strolled down the street, giving their babies the taste of a warm autumn sun before it got too cold.
Eugene, staring at the older twin inside the stroller, breathed out a soft sigh. "Not yet..."
Arthur looked at his husband's expression and stroked the omega's back gently. "Are you still scared for our children?"
Eugene didn't answer right away, as if he was being careful. Was he actually afraid? Did he really think there were people angry enough about his novel that they would resort to harming his children?
He bit his lip and looked at the alpha. "Does it seem...too paranoid of me?"
"No," Arthur wrapped his arm around his husband's shoulder. "Every parent fears for their children. The world is a scary place after all—I mean, I was a victim once."
