Lara auctioned her car and brought the money to the hospital. Her grandma was placed on life support but she knows that it won't be long her money will be finished and then, what next?
She was sad and sobbed. She was coming to give her grandma good news and met a bad occurrence. She hopes her grandma comes out of the coma healthy and alright.
She's the only family she's got. Her parents are dead. Her paternal grandparents are also dead except her maternal grandma. And now, she's lying helplessly on the bed.
But despite that, Lara got dressed the next morning and went to resume at work. Lara already knows her desk, it's among the other junior employees of the company.
But then, stepping out of the elevator, the first face that came before her was that of the man she wished she never crosses paths with. This time, he stood with his hands in his pants pocket and was going to step into the opposite elevator.
He paused when he sighted Lara and glared at her from her head to her toes in her cheap, unattractive dress. His gaze pierced and filled with resentment.
Finally, she would feel his wrath. She might see herself hired as a junior designer but in the real sense, she would taste the consequences of misuse of the tongue
"Good morning" Lara mumbled. She doesn't know why she'd been jinxed that encountering this man would precede good things, this man's face would always find a way to bump before her.
Her last visit before the date of her insemination, she unfortunately crossed paths with this ice cold man. First time she would appear before interviewers, his face was there to cheer her into embarrassing herself.
Now, luckily, she'd been hired, it's his face again. What the heck! He should get a mask and wear and stop bringing that cold gaze of his, to swing her mood.
"I think you should say bad morning to yourself" Curtis sneered. What's good about the morning of the day is that she's resuming work with unpleasant experiences awaiting her.
Lara was dazed. She paused,glared at him briefly and hissed between gritted teeth. Who said she's to greet him, it's not part of her job description to be greeting other employees around.
She took a step to move and the man's voice brought her to a pause "You dare to take a step?" This woman still doesn't know who he is?
"Look mister, I don't know who you are and why you are stalking me. But please stay away from me in this company. You're an employee and I am also an employee.
Stay within the jurisdiction of your job's description and avoid me. I also promised to stay as far from you as the East is from the West" Lara declared storming off.
Curtis Rodney's eyes darkened. This woman kept expressing herself so boring to him the more. She advised him to stay within the jurisdiction of his job's description?
But he would get back at her. He needed to attend to an emergency as soon as possible. But he'll promise himself that he would humiliate this woman publicly.
The day's work went normal and everything was fine. Lara's heart kept alternating between the Job and her grandma but didn't let it affect her new job at all.
Curtis Rodney returned back to the company in rage. He slammed his fist against the desk. What the hell, how possible was that?
How can his sperm be missing at the threshold of getting it inseminated to his chosen surrogate? How can the hospital and its entire employees be careless and let someone steal his sperm?
"What do we do now, boss?" Lazarus Doe asked, seeing his boss' furious state. But it's absurd, how can a vial of sperm be missing and it couldn't be traced?
Curtis was quiet. The aura coming from him at such a provoked period is intimidating. He seldom talks when he's furious and at such a time, whoever is near to him or relating with him should be extremely careful.
"I suggest we give the hospital employees an automaton of when they should give you answers as to who sneaked in and stole your sperm" Lazarus suggested.
Women couldn't get him to bed them. Some desperate ones would go any length to have their desires achieved. Some wouldn't mind paying millions of dollars just to obtain his seed and get inseminated with it.
Then in a year's time, they'll return with a baby to blackmail or ruin the reputation of Curtis Rodney, that he'd protected all these years.

Lara was surprised to see one of the men in the CEO's office. They were supposed to be introduced to him before they resume officially but he wasn't always on seat, hence they had started work first.
She glanced at the man briefly and looked away. But she felt very uncomfortable. Her heart was beating fast but she cannot link it up to anything at the moment.
She glanced at the man standing with his hands in his pants pocket and his back to them, glancing out of the transparent wall that enclosed the CEO's office. This man is definitely the CEO.
"Good day sir. The new employees want to get introduced to you sir…" the man began but Curtis still stood with his back to them. But slowly he turned himself in to face his new employees and his gaze rested on a certain person who advised him earlier on staying within the jurisdiction of his job's description.
When Lara saw him, she paled and she felt as if a knife just slashed through her heart.
