Evelin's POV
My heart lurched violently.
I felt it plummeting deeper with each passing moment.
He hadn't even attempted to contradict her claims.
That telling silence confirmed Margot was likely speaking the truth.
'Was it really Jimmy in that backseat years ago?'
The thought pierced through me.
Margot continued, "Evelin, now you understand—Jimmy abandoned your brother to his fate. Do you realize how desperately your brother pleaded with him? Yet Jimmy simply ordered his men to haul your brother aside.
"That's the kind of cold-blooded man he truly is. You claimed you could pardon him before, but after this revelation, can you still extend that same mercy?"
I bit down on my lips until they drained of color, the anguish in my chest intensifying with each accusation.
Still, I steeled myself to maintain composure, approaching Jimmy with measured steps. "Let's head home," I stated.
I had countless questions demanding answers.
