Evelin's POV
I forced a bitter smile and dropped my eyes to the floor.
"I'm leaving," I said. "The thirty million I borrowed is sitting in Margot's private account. I'll text you her banking details. The interest transfers directly to yours.
"About Margot—turn her in if that's what you want. I'll hand over all our transaction records to the police too."
My voice came out flat, stripped of the fury from before. I felt strangely hollow, detached from everything.
Panic flashed across Jimmy's face.
"You don't need to leave. I will. Stay here as long as you need," he said, words tumbling out fast.
"This is your apartment. I'm the one who should go," I replied.
"Evelin, please don't move out," he begged.
From the look on his face, I could tell he understood that if I actually walked away, it would signal the end of us completely.
"I'm leaving. And—" I stopped mid-sentence, then slowly raised my head to meet his eyes, my decision firm. "We're breaking up."
