Jimmy's POV
"Jimmy, you're my son. You'll end up just like me." Dad's voice sliced through my skull like a razor.
Mom's hysterical laughter exploded next. "You're his child! You'll become exactly like him—a complete monster! Stay away from me! I refuse to be your mother. I should never have brought you into this world!" Her screams pierced the air.
Their voices crashed together in my head, stabbing like thousands of razor-sharp blades, over and over again.
Crimson fog stretched endlessly around me—no escape, nowhere to run. It swallowed everything whole, including me.
Stop! Please, just stop! Shut the hell up!
I was screaming inside my own mind when my eyes flew open—pitch black surrounded me on all sides.
I sucked in air desperately, bolting upright, my entire body soaked in freezing sweat.
Just another goddamn nightmare.
I'd taken my medication before bed, but apparently it still wasn't enough to get me through one full night without this shit.
