Evelin's POV
The kiss dragged on, refusing to break.
Jimmy's mouth pressed against mine with desperate hunger. "Eve, you can't stand to see me hurt, can you? That proves you still love me."
His husky whisper sent shivers down my spine.
I pushed him back hard. "Stop! Do you think this is some kind of game?"
He drew in a sharp breath, his gaze burning into me. "Don't go chasing after other guys. If you do, I'll find someone else too!"
I scowled at him. Right now, Jimmy's expression was dark with fury and obsession.
It brought back every rumor I'd heard about the Hamilton family's "unstable heir."
If we really went to war, heaven knew what he might do.
I wiped my mouth with the back of my hand, still feeling the burn of his kiss, then shot him a challenging look. "Fine, your birthday's over. We had cake, and now I'm leaving!"
Eventually he'll have to face that we're finished, I reasoned.
