Evelin's POV
Jimmy lifted his gaze to meet mine. "Are you certain you want us to reconcile?"
I arched an eyebrow. "Would I still be hanging around if I wasn't serious?"
God, we'd already been intimate again.
Jimmy's mouth formed a tight line. "I already explained this. When your feelings for me match the depth of mine for you, that's when we'll be together again."
Disappointment flickered through me—I'd assumed his gesture yesterday meant we were officially reunited.
Yet as I reflected on it, I understood that the doubt he harbored couldn't simply vanish because of my declarations.
At least he was behaving differently toward me now—no longer building walls between us like before.
Besides, time was on my side.
As long as his love remained, I could demonstrate the strength of my feelings.
Eventually, I'd mend those ancient scars and convince him to want our relationship again.
