Evelin's POV
What I saw was skin marked by scars, rough and discolored.
Burns—from his shoulder down to his chest, stomach, and waist, the same jagged scars covered his body.
"How did you get these burns?" My voice shook, my fingers trembling as I reached out, unable to resist wanting to touch the scarred skin on his shoulder.
But before I could make contact, he quickly pulled his shirt back on.
"Ms. Elysia, you've seen it now. What you see on my shoulder are burn scars, not the wounds from the photo you gave me," Jaxson said.
I pressed my lips together, my mind racing. 'Burns... Could these be from that massive fire five years ago?'
'No, that's impossible. In the video Margot showed me back then, my brother's shoulder still had those wounds.'
'So... who is this man standing before me?'
"When did you get these scars?" I asked.
