Jasmin's POV
Pain lanced through my chest as recognition hit me like lightning. Through the blur of tears and rain, my wolf stirred restlessly. His familiar scent cut through the storm before I could even see him clearly.
Max.
There he stood, only a few steps away from me. His imposing figure was soaked through, dark hair clinging to the sharp angles of his face. Rain streamed down his shoulders and chest in rivulets.
His stare was intense and unwavering, fixed on me with burning intensity. On my feverish body, completely exposed beneath the merciless downpour.
I went rigid, my breathing caught somewhere between my lungs and throat. My heart hammered against my ribs in a rhythm of helpless defeat as his overwhelming presence swallowed everything else around us.
How had he tracked me down here? Terror crawled up from my stomach. Here I was, completely unclothed and shaking, too drained to even drag myself away from him.
