"Eliminate your competition?" The words tumbled from my lips, confusion twisting through my mind like smoke.
But weren't we all competitors here? Every single Alpha standing in this forest represented a threat to the others.
Alpha Alonzo's voice cut through the silence, each word precise and unforgiving. "The Alpha instructors have positioned a page bearing each of your names at strategic locations throughout this territory. Your objective is simple: locate your page. Successfully retrieve it, and you advance to the next trial with immediate permission to return to the Academy."
His declaration hung in the air like a blade waiting to fall.
I remained motionless, my mind reeling.
That was the entire challenge? Just find our individual pages? Nothing else?
"The trial commences now!" Alpha Alonzo's command exploded through the forest.
