Chapter 1 - Pilot

"Is it in?".

"Yeah".

"Is it tight?".

"A little".

"Is it painful?".

"No? Thanks mister".

The little girl kissed the mister on his forehead, it was Halloween and she alongside her brother had gone trick or treating.

But along the way, someone stepped on her shoelaces, cusing them to come undone. But the kind mister had helped her.

"No problem little one". Luca replied flashing the girl of about age five a smile before watching as she and her brother moved away. A skip in their steps.

Luca's peripheral vision was suddenly filled with the large frame of his boss. Luca immediately shot up from his previous crouching position.

His smile fading to reveal a poker face. If his boss caught him smiling, who knew what the sadistic bastard would do.

His hands resumed swinging the prop, he worked as a clown for hire at a talent agency. And the props he was currently swinging was the advertising signboard to attract business.

"Phew". Luca let out a sigh of relief as his boss walked into the workplace. He refocused his gaze of the passing crowd.

Seeing the happy smile families threw at each other, he had the urge to throw down the advertising props and go find his family.

If only he knew where they were.

The crowd soon dwindled as England's cold weather intensified.

Avoiding the gaze of his boss he received his pay for the last job, arranged his belongings in his backpack and walked home.

Walking down the road, the look of envy on his face intensified as he saw a man's hand dig into the ass of female besides him.

The female squealed and hugged the man tighter, her chest pressing flat against his chest.

"Lucky bastard!!".

Luca couldn't help but curse out loud, loud enough for the love birds in front of him to hear him.

The female stiffened up in embarrassment, but the man got bolder, digging his right hand into the soft dough. His eyes staring straight into Luca's.

Luca turned into the next lane, his jealousy at all times high. His mind replaying the depraved scene.

'That ass though'.

Before Luca's mind could return to the scene, and save it into a file in his head. His attention was drawn to someone in front of him.

The individual in front of him had long black hair that reaches to his hip— most definitely a wig.

Had golden irises— undoubtedly contacts.

Had on a suit with a golden cape, with fur round the cape. The double breasted suit had the insignia of blooming golden rose, with a serene face in the center.

Luca recognised this character, it was from the novel that had taken the world by storm. In just a year, it had gotten a manga adaptation, it's own anime and even it's own game.

Tale Of A Hero— this was the name of the story.

The man was cos-playing as the king, but that wasn't what caught Luca's attention. What caught Luca's attention was the words coming out of his mouth.

The man noticed he had gotten Luca's attention, turned towards him with a wide smile on his face. Before saying.

"Fellow adventurer of life, my name is Lynn would you like to experience life from someone else's perspective?".

"What do you mean?". Luca replied, a bit confused from the words the man— Lynn was sprouting.

"I mean, how would you like to live another life?". Lynn said.

Luca's face was a mask of confusion, he replied a bit hesitantly. "You mean... like VR?".

VR— Visual Reality were closer to reality at this point of technology. If Lynn was referring to VR, he might actually belive it.

Luca's frown deepened when Lynn shook his head, indicating otherwise.

"No, not VR, but in flesh".

"What nonsense are you sprouting?!!". Luca retorted.

'To think i spent my time listening to this fool'. Luca turned to go, only for Lynn to grab onto his arm and try to persuade him.

"Belive him, i am saying the truth".

Luca turned around and pryed his arm away from Lynn's grip, before responding.

"What do you take me for..... a joke?".

As soon as his words fell, Lynn then took a look at Luca's clothes, his scrutinising gaze caused Luca to re-examine his looks.

He was still wearing his clown attire, he had on a rainbow coloured wig, his face was painted white and a red foam was positioned on his nose.

He wore a one-piece jump suit, that had pink on the right side, and blue on the other— a jarring combination.

His shoes were also mismatched in colour, not only the colour. The right shoe was worn on the left leg and the left was worn of the right.

Luca's gaze went up to meet Lynn's, the answer was apparent.

Luca turned his face to the other side in embarrassment before saying.

"I will let you know, i studied to be a chemical engineer".

"Sure".

"..."

"I mean it".

"Whatever you say". Lynn said with a knowing look on his face.

"..."

'I have had enough of this embarrassment'. Luca turned to leave.

"Well Luca it's your loss, he has a lot of females in his life".

'Lot of females'. The words rebounded inside of Luca's head, like a cursed massage.

Before Luca knew, his body had turned around and was standing before Lynn. His body language displaying clear interest.

"W-what did you say?". Taking a deep breath Luca inquired on what he meant.

"I mean, he had lot's of maid that would do pretty much anything he says". Lynn continued, his lips curving upward.

Luca took a deep breath, although his rational mind told him that it was impossible, Lynn's strange confidence made him hesitate.

"How can i experience life from this dude's perspective? I mean you said i wouldn't be using VR". Luca inquired.

"Oh it's simple, just say you agree". Lynn replied, his voice clearing showing anticipation.

Luca stopped to think for a moment, this wasn't a movie where he could disappear if he agreed to what Lynn was saying.

'I mean they us no such thing as the supernatural... right'. Luca wanted to belive that nothing would happen, but the smile that graced Lynn's lip, made him uneasy.

"Sigh~ i agree". Luca braced himself, but nothing happened, no sudden displacement.

Lynn's smile widened as he passed a sheet of paper into Luca's hands before instructing.

"Place it under your pillow". With that Lynn vanished.

Not exactly like vanished, but he moved so fast that before Luca could gather his thoughts. Lynn was already gone.

Luca looked at the sheet of paper in his hands, the writings were so blurred that Luca couldn't make sense of it.

A few seconds passed, with Luca just staring at the paper, before sighing.

'I really am a bloody fool'.

Luca couldn't belive he actually believed for a moment that he would really experience something supernatural.

Maybe it the promise of having all the Ass he could get, or the fact that he wanted to escape his mandune life. Either way he was a fool for believing in it.

Luca crumbled the paper and threw it away, too frustrated to think of decency— at least in his mind.

Obvious to the fact that the piece of paper was in his backpack.

Because in reality— from anyone else's perspective, Luca had carefully placed the paper into his backpack and set on home.
