Chapter 5 - Chapter 4: The Hunt of the Naberius Clan

The moon over the Underworld was blood-red that night.

In the courtyard of the Valvas estate, Roy Valvas stood silently before his grandfather. His eyes burned with calm resolve, his aura completely restrained — but the air around him trembled all the same.

Before him, Darius Valvas, the Sword Saint, watched with solemn pride.

"You've trained, you've endured, and you've surpassed even my expectations," Darius said.

"You've earned the right to walk your own path. The Naberius clan... is yours to judge."

Roy bowed deeply.

"I'll erase their corruption, Grandfather. For my parents — for Valvas."

The next moment, he vanished in a flash of light.

The Naberius Estate

Far from the core territories, deep within the Old Satan Faction's stronghold, lay the Naberius Clan's estate — a gothic fortress wrapped in dark fog and silence.

The guards never saw him coming.

A whisper of flame passed them — and the next moment, the sky itself ignited.

"All things in this world... turn to ash."

—Bankai: Ryūjin Jakka.

The world turned white-hot.

Walls melted. Towers crumbled. The screams of devils filled the night before vanishing into silence.

Roy moved through the inferno like a phantom, his sword glowing with the fire of divine retribution. Every member of the Naberius clan — soldiers, mages, nobles — fell before him without mercy.

Within minutes, the once-proud estate was nothing but a field of molten glass and embers.

The Hidden Chambers

Roy sensed faint life deep below the ruins. He followed it — descending through a secret passage, untouched by the flames.

What he found chilled him more than any fire could.

Cages. Dozens of them.

And in the corner — two figures huddled together.

A small white-haired girl, barely four years old, trembling and crying.

And a taller one — thirteen, golden-eyed, with black cat ears and a fierce, protective glare.

"You... you're not Naberius," the older girl hissed.

Roy sheathed his blade and knelt.

"You're right. My name is Roy Valvas. I'm not here to hurt you. What are nekoshou doing here?"

The girl's expression softened, but her voice still shook with anger.

"They kidnapped us. Said they'd... experiment on us. Something about creating a being beyond Satan-class."

Before Roy could respond, a voice rasped from behind — one of the few surviving Naberius elders, crawling from the rubble.

"Yes... you'll never understand our vision. To create a Transcendental-class devil— superior to all! The world will—"

He never finished.

Roy's blade flashed once. Silence followed.

"The only thing you'll create is your own extinction."

He turned back to the girls.

"You're safe now. Come with me."

The older one — Kuroka — nodded warily, lifting her little sister Shirone into her arms.

For the first time that night, Roy smiled faintly.

"You're free."

The Black Diary

While clearing the lab, Roy's eyes caught a faint glint behind a cracked wall. He shattered it with a tap of his sword and found a hidden rack — and within it, a single black-bound diary.

Flipping through it, his eyes narrowed.

Names. Seals. Transactions.

Evidence linking the Naberius clan to multiple high families — including a Bael patriarch descended from Zekram himself.

Roy's expression turned to steel.

"So that's how deep the rot goes..."

He closed the book and disappeared with the girls in a flash of teleportation magic.

Return to Valvas Estate

When Roy appeared back at the Valvas estate, Darius and Clara were already waiting.

Kuroka and Shirone clung to Roy's sleeves, wide-eyed but safe.

"You succeeded," Darius said, quietly impressed.

"Completely," Roy answered, handing him the diary. "But this... will shake the Underworld."

Darius opened it, scanning the first few pages. His expression darkened instantly.

"Clara. Summon Zekram Bael."

Moments later, a crimson circle appeared, and Zekram Bael stepped through, his aura heavy and commanding.

When Darius handed him the diary, Zekram read in silence. The air grew colder with every page.

Finally, the ancient Bael exhaled deeply.

"So... my own descendants have fallen so low."

He snapped the diary shut.

"They will be stripped of their title. I'll restore the Bael Clan to the hands of one worthy — my son, the former Lord. Venelana's father."

Clara nodded approvingly.

"That's the Bael honor I remember."

The Summons

A week later, a crimson seal appeared above Roy's bed — the symbol of the Devil Council.

"Summoned... by the Council?" Roy murmured, blinking.

"Looks like they've taken notice," Grayfia said softly from beside him.

She was dressed in her maid uniform, but her silver eyes were warm — proud.

"I'll accompany you, Roy-sama."

Roy nodded, smiling slightly.

"I'd rather have no one else."

Grayfia's cheeks tinted pink, but she simply bowed.

"As you wish, my lord."

The Devil Council

The grand chamber of the Council shimmered with power. Seven thrones sat in a circle — occupied by the greatest devils of the current age:

Darius Valvas, the Sword Saint of Valvas

Zekram Bael, Patriarch of Bael

Serafall Leviathan, Maou of Ice

Ajuka Beelzebub, the Genius Maou

Falbium Asmodeus, the Shield Maou

Sirzechs Lucifer, the Red King — seated beside his wife, Liana Gremory (a random member of the Gremory line)

The chamber quieted as Roy entered with Grayfia at his side. His crimson-gold eyes locked briefly with Serafall's — who smiled softly, her heart skipping.

Grayfia, standing slightly behind Roy, felt her own heartbeat quicken.

"Roy Valvas," Ajuka began, his analytical gaze sharp. "You single-handedly annihilated an entire noble house. The Council demands explanation."

Roy stepped forward, calm and unflinching.

"The Naberius clan were guilty of crimes against all devilkind — human experimentation, corruption, and treason. I did what justice demanded."

A heavy silence filled the chamber. Then Darius's deep voice echoed, steady and proud:

"And as Patriarch of Valvas, I stand by my grandson's decision."

Zekram's voice followed.

"As do I."

Serafall rose from her seat, blue eyes glowing with frostlight.

"And so do I. The Naberius deserved their fate. Roy Valvas acted where the Council hesitated."

Roy bowed slightly.

"Thank you, Lady Leviathan."

Her face colored faintly.

"You can call me Serafall," she whispered, smiling shyly.

From behind him, Grayfia's eyes softened — pride and affection mingling with an emotion she refused to name.

And in that moment, as the Council whispered, and the Maous weighed the fate of a young devil who had changed the balance of power in one night — a new legend began to spread across the Underworld.

The name Roy Valvas, heir of the Granddukes, destroyer of corruption — a devil who dared to challenge the world itself.
