Chapter 1 - Studying Medicine Can’t Save the Shinobi World!

(Both the male and female leads are adults.)

The border of the Land of Rain — Konoha's military encampment.

Outside the tents, a fine drizzle fell endlessly, and the damp air was almost suffocating.

"Hey, hey, Uchiha brat — studying medicine won't save the Shinobi World."

Inside the tent, Tsunade, the commander of Konoha's medical division stationed at the Rain Country front, wore her usual look of heroism — but this time, a rare trace of teasing appeared on her face.

The young Uchiha Ye, forehead protector shining faintly under the lamplight, had a determined look on his youthful face.

"Captain Tsunade! For Konoha — for the Will of Fire!"

Uchiha Ye spoke firmly, but in Tsunade's eyes, his conviction only made her inwardly scoff. Typical Uchiha — so damn stubborn.

Just another brat brainwashed by the Will of Fire.

Uchiha Ye had graduated top three in his class alongside Namikaze Minato and Uzumaki Kushina. After graduation, he was immediately assigned to Tsunade's unit because of the Second Great Ninja War.

"Alright, alright, you obsessive Uchiha brat. Since it's all for Konoha, how's the logistics report coming along? And your practice with the Mystical Palm Technique — any progress?"

Tsunade's teasing tone made Uchiha Ye's face twitch awkwardly. His voice dropped slightly.

"Captain Tsunade, I haven't completely mastered the Mystical Palm Technique yet… but the logistics report is finished."

The young, handsome Uchiha looked utterly serious as he presented the compiled logistics data to Tsunade.

Seeing this, Tsunade couldn't help but smile in satisfaction. This Uchiha kid wasn't very strong, but his paperwork and organization skills were top-notch.

She had practically dumped the entire logistics workload on him — all she needed to do was review it at the end. Her workload had been cut in half.

Leaning back, Tsunade enjoyed a rare moment of peace, though a faint heaviness lingered in her expression.

The situation wasn't looking good.

As she scanned the report, Tsunade's eyes subconsciously drifted toward the boy. No wonder he graduated top of his class in theory — that brain really works.

But while Uchiha Ye outwardly looked like a naive believer of the Will of Fire, deep inside, he was sneering coldly.

The best hunters always appear as prey.

"Captain Tsunade!"

After finishing the report, Uchiha Ye suddenly hesitated, his expression showing uncertainty.

Tsunade, radiant in her prime, looked at him with playful amusement, golden hair gleaming under the lamplight.

"What is it? As long as you behave and follow orders, this captain of yours guarantees you'll stay alive on the battlefield."

Faced with the legendary pair of golden headlights, Uchiha Ye feigned hesitation — then clenched his teeth and spoke a single name.

"The clan elder."

In an instant, Tsunade's teasing smile froze. Uchiha Ye pressed on, feigning reluctance and anxiety.

"This concerns the Uchiha elder."

There was only one Uchiha elder — Uchiha Setsuna. And that man was anything but ordinary.

Even in the original records, he was mentioned: a radical Uchiha who inherited Madara's ideology. During Tobirama's reign, he had incited rebellion among the clan and was eventually captured and imprisoned by the ANBU.

If not for Tobirama's untimely death and the outbreak of the Second Great Ninja War, which forced Konoha to rely on the Uchiha's strength, that man would never have been released.

"Brat…"

Tsunade's expression turned grave as she stared at Uchiha Ye.

"You should know that's a dangerous man."

Uchiha Ye nodded firmly.

"I understand, Captain Tsunade. But the elder secretly gave me this scroll, saying it concerns the survival of the Uchiha clan — and that I must deliver it to you personally."

As he spoke, Uchiha Ye solemnly took out a green scroll from his pouch and presented it with both hands.

"For the sake of the village, if this scroll contains anything suspicious, I, Uchiha Ye, am willing to accept full responsibility!"

At that moment, he looked every bit the loyal Konoha shinobi — a young man devoted to the Will of Fire.

Tsunade hesitated but eventually nodded to herself.

She'd been watching this kid for over a year. He was sharp, loyal, and reminded her a bit of her late brother.

"Alright."

She took the scroll. As she did, Uchiha Ye lowered his gaze — and a glint of cold calculation flashed in his eyes.

He had been in this world for twelve years now. Though the Uchiha name was shunned and isolated in Konoha, it was still one of the great clans.

Konoha was founded by the Senju and the Uchiha. The Senju had already produced two Hokage — wasn't it about time for the Uchiha's turn?

Yet here they were, treated worse than the Inuzuka clan's dogs. Damn it!

If he'd come to this world only to watch the Uchiha get isolated and massacred again, then what was the point of his reincarnation?

Especially when he possessed the potential for overwhelming power — how could he possibly remain a quiet pawn in someone else's world?

"What the—"

As Tsunade unfurled the scroll and read its contents, her expression darkened further and further until fury flared in her eyes.

This little Uchiha she'd thought well of had just delivered something vile and dangerous!

"Uchiha Ye!"

Her voice thundered through the tent.

But the boy simply lowered his head, speaking firmly.

"Konoha shinobi Uchiha Ye is willing to accept any punishment!"

Tsunade took a deep breath. Her anger subsided, replaced by cool analysis.

After all, the woman who would one day become the Fifth Hokage wasn't one to lose herself to emotion.

"Brat… aren't you even curious what's written inside?"

Her tone was icy. Whatever faint affection she'd had for this kid was gone.

Uchiha Ye nodded resolutely and accepted the scroll back. When his eyes landed on the text inside, his face paled instantly.

Then —

"Captain Tsunade!" He lifted his head sharply, eyes blazing with emotion. "You mustn't believe this! That old fox, Setsuna, must be trying to sow discord between you and the village! That damned traitor!"

His killing intent erupted as though he wanted to storm off and strangle the elder himself.

Tsunade studied his reaction carefully. He truly looked like a manipulated pawn.

It makes sense, she thought. A kid so loyal to the Will of Fire — of course, the elder would use him as a courier.

But still—

"Brat. No matter what's in this scroll, you must not utter a single word about it to anyone. If you do…"

Her eyes narrowed dangerously.

Uchiha Ye clenched his fists, anger and grievance flashing across his face, but he nodded firmly.

"I understand, Captain Tsunade. With the war raging, we can't afford internal unrest."

Seeing his reaction, Tsunade silently nodded. So he really was just used.

Meanwhile, behind his strained expression, Uchiha Ye breathed a secret sigh of relief.

Let the bullets fly for a while.

He had just delivered Konoha a "gift."
