It was nowaroun5 to 6PM in the evening, and my so-called NEW FRIENDS were now kneeling down by the door of a staff office. The staffs promised to teach them a very strict lesson but didn't abide to their promise, that is now given them the benefit.
I visited Mr. Raymond and wanted to tell him about my recent encounter with my so-called friends but found it unnecessary, so I kept all this to myself.
As I laid on my bed in my hostel, I kept thinking about what would happen to me, when James told Godwin and Moses that I was in the hall but didn't assist them.
"If they could give a whole teacher a new skin design what would they give me", these thoughts steered through my head till I fell asleep.
I woke up really active and relief but the thoughts that I would die in the hands of my so-called friends kept pestering my mind but I tried my best not to make much of it.
I visited the library because Mr. Raymond hadn't visited his shop.... And tried to read some books, but on getting to the library and seeing the population of the girls alone, and you know what girls do best-GOSSIP- so I had to move straight out of the library. Teachers talked about yesterday's fight amongst themselves, some talked about Godwin. I couldn't stand it so I walked to the library keeper's desk and started a conversation with her.
"Good morning Ma", I greeted
"Good morning my child", she replied to me.
"Please can I borrow this book, I will return it", I pleaded with her as I showed her the book
"I know you will Honey", she drew out a book and opened to a particular page which was blank, she then said.
"Sign here and write your name here", she pointed to two different places that was separated with a line, I did as she said and took out of the library. Most public places, even some schools don't have libraries but we are really lucky to have one, most pupils don't think about it that way but I do and I suggest it's a really big deal. "This book is really interesting"- I said to myself, it was 'THE DEVIL'S APPERENTICE' by Daniel O.O and it was like it took me to the scene of the action.
As I walked slowly unconscious about my environment, while I tried my best to enjoy the novel I was reading I felt a heavy punch and fell down to the ground, then I withdrew my attention from the book and tried to see who it was that punched me, it was the first bullies to offend me, this time it was like they were up for a fight but I on the other hand I was totally not.
"HEY DUMBO" the leader of the bully told me.
"LETS DANCE" he said again
"So you think we would forget about everything that happened the other day?, RIGHT?", I was irritated and was raging with anger like I suddenly had the courage to kick a soldiers "Oh what's the matter?, you want to defend yourself?" one of the bullies said facing his fist to my jaws getting ready to punch me, then I heard a lite noise behind the bullies, before the bullies attack me or started punching me, the one that was at my direct front right flew over me, I was so shocked I could barely move, I saw Gideon, James and Moses jump into action like super heroes and I was the center of two heavy burdens, if I was to be left with the bullies, they would beat the hell out of me, on the other hand if I was to be saved by my so called friends, they would be really upset with me because I didn't help them when they were fighting with Dr. Grace, and all of their problems will later resort to fighting with the authorities of the orphanage, I tried hard to move but wasn't fast enough, as I moved the fight moved with me every single time, I was now tensed and didn't know what to do, then a large man I black appeared at my front, and so everyone including Godwin's gang and the bullies paused and paid attention to him, it turned out he was one of the orphanage's security officers, everyone was now shaking, by him just clearing his throat everyone redraw to stand alone and with personal distance, he then said "Moses", on hearing that name, I paid more attention, "You are called by the orphanage counselor" the security officer said and marched back to the staff office of where I was called, I followed him but found it difficult to catch up to him.
No I was properly seated near the Counselor of the orphanage's desk two chairs where a man and an old woman sat, they talked to the counselor for some minutes and their conversation reached the point where the counselor opened and higher education note, I looked closely towards the note and I saw my name in the note, then the old woman turned to me and smiled and the counselor gave me a sign using her body language for me to come to her, she stood up to move near the restroom passage of her office so they won't hear what she wanted to tell me.
"Luck see, this woman is here to take you in", I looked at her humbly "But what about Mr. Raymond" I hesitated.
"He will learn to understand, see this woman have promised to give you the best of everything, and the best of life", I didn't say a word but dropped my head and looked down to the ground, "Don't worry, we will give you time to process this whole thing" and she gave me a pat on the back and walked back to her desk, I knew she was right, I needed a load of time to think about it, when I walked to the exit "Moses" the counselor called me back.
"This is a great, in fact ... Golden opportunity, lots of children wish for something like this to be their portion, so please consider" I approved by nodding, I walked out without saying a word "LUCK!!" a man shouted several times, it was like the man was calling me, so I lazily turned but my strength was renewed and my face enlightened, by the presence of my senior brother
