Chapter 1 - The International Scandal Part 1

The sound of the alarm woke me up.

With great anger, I looked toward the ringing clock. The time was 7:30 a.m.

Usually, I wake up around 9 o'clock because I sleep late at night.

My room was built outside the house like one bedroom unit , near the main door.

Inside my room, there was a table, a chair, and a lamp lying on one side.

On the chair was a book in which I had been writing a story for many days.

The pen was lying beside it — one had already run out of ink, and I had brought a new one to continue the rest of the story.

On my table, there were plates and a little leftover food that I had eaten last night.

Then I went straight to the kitchen which was on the left side of the room , a door at the back of the room leads to the kitchen.

There was a kettle kept there. And utensils unwashed on the top of shelf.. as I left them last night because I was focusing on writing my Story thought I would wash next day when I wake up.

Usually, I don't cook for myself so I am not habitual of washing as soon as I finish preparing food. Hahaha

I took a glass of water from the kitchen, drank it, and then started making my tea.

The kettle, tea leaves, and sugar were all kept in the kitchen

I poured the tea into a cup — a cup made of fine stone 🪨 with golden lines printed around it.

It looked very beautiful. The cup could hold around 200 to 300 milliliters of tea.

After making the tea, I had taken only one sip when suddenly my door opened.

The key was lying right near the door, and I was shocked — who had opened it?

Because my eyesight is weak for distant things, I couldn't see who it was.

The person stood right in front of the door, but sunlight from behind hid their face.

When he took a step forward — then another — I saw his face clearly.

It was none other than my brother, Jagpreet Malhotra.

I was surprised to see him visit me.

He asked, "Everything fine?" I said, "Yes, everything's good I just woke up so early today so still half asleep 😭

He asked me about my well-being, and I was about to ask him water or refreshments and ask him about his arrival here. I said after lifting the copy and sneaking a peak into the copy , you are unemployed since last 5 days and you don't seem to have work in the future for a while too

,and he smiled and sat on the chair in a way that his right leg crossed over his knee and both arms on the armrest and leaning back on the chair with full confidence. After some hesitation I while standing , I asked it might be foolish to ask how do you know 😔🧐.

He said First for all it is all reasoning and details..

As I entered your room I scanned the whole room immediately with my eyes .. the frugal cooked meals seemed like noodles you cooked yourself because I can see you left the back door open and I can easily see some unwashed dishes in the kitchen and you cooking means you have no money in your account and when you do you always rely on restaurant and even if you have hope to have money you always buy from outside as you are not stingy person and don't like to save .

Second your room looks and feels rather pristine than usual and no clothes of your construction work are piled up if you have work tomorrow you keep the pant outside mostly on the bed or table ,so you might have cleaned it because no maid I can see which usually is here when you have money,

Third When I picked up the copy and saw that nearly 50 pages are written and you are not a good writer, normal person write 5000 words in an hour and if you wrote for 2 hours a day so 10 thousand words per day, which can easily be written within 10 pages ,

and proof of that is your notebook itself the ink difference between all 10 pages first 10 pages and the second number of pages from 10 to 20 and so on.. because sunshine directly onto the window of your room and your table facing the window so most of the time your notebook sits on the table so the ink dry out quickly..

and another proof of your writing is that your one bal pen has run out of ink usually a bal pen lasts 90k to 110 k words . And you also bought a new one too .. so you don't have work in the future as well to be precise atleast for more 5 days ..

I was so startled at the simple logical thinking of my brother. Never knew he can think like this hahahha. I said you are now using your brain .. which I always think one in a million IQ above 200 hahhaha. I quick made cup of tea for him too. He just had a sip of it and his phone rang

He picked it up — and his expression changed completely.

His face turned pale yellow, and I was shocked.

Before I could even think of what had happened, I heard the sound of a police car siren approaching.

I felt a little nervous — naturally, no one wants police to come to their house.

When I opened the door, there were at least four or five police cars outside.

I thought maybe a big incident had happened nearby.

But I was stunned when they started walking toward my house.

The Deputy Commissioner of Somar city( Vibes of 1300 England but full technology advancement) himself was leading them.

I was very surprised and afraid too.

I immediately shut the door and sat on my chair, trying to look calm.

But before I could decide what to do, my brother opened the door again.

I asked him, "Did you do something?" He smiled slightly but didn't answer.

I was frightened. I peeked through the door slightly to see what was happening.

The Deputy Commissioner walked up to my brother and saluted him.

All my fear disappeared, and happiness took over — I felt proud.

The Deputy Commissioner said, "We need your help. You have to come with us."

For the first time in my life, I felt proud of my brother.

I had known since childhood that his IQ level was very high — he was one of those one-in-a-million geniuses.

He began walking toward the car with the Deputy Commissioner.

I heard him say, "We need your help."

It was a huge government luxury car.

Before they could sit, I quickly opened the door and sat in the front seat, because I loved sitting in front.

My brother smiled a little and sat in the back seat with the Deputy Commissioner.

They were talking about something, but I wasn't paying attention — I was just enjoying sitting in the luxury car.

After about 15 minutes of driving, we reached the police station.

When I saw the Deputy Commissioner properly, I remembered —

this was the famous Deputy Commissioner Arivanda, the one I had read about in the newspaper.

He had solved a very complicated case in a short time.

But I wondered — why did such a high officer need my brother's help?

He was about six feet tall, wearing a green uniform with white shoulder belts crossing his chest, silver stars on his shoulders and arms.

He had light brown skin, short hair, a golden nose, and brown eyes.

The police station was huge — at least a hundred jail cells.

We were standing in the front area when the Deputy Commissioner said to my brother, "Come with me."

I followed behind.

We crossed the cell area and reached a tunnel.

The Deputy Commissioner placed his finger on a scanner, and the tunnel door opened automatically.

The tunnel walls looked like iron barriers — I had never seen such a high-security system before.

As we entered, policemen stood around saluting both of them.

At first, I thought they were saluting the Deputy Commissioner — but when I saw the Prime Minister himself salute my brother, I realized the truth.

All those salutes were meant for my brother.

The Prime Minister said,

"There's no need for an introduction. I know you — Gurpreet Malhotra, the Mad Detective."

I was stunned.

My brother asked, "What has happened that you called me here so urgently?"

The Prime Minister said seriously,

"The honor and safety of our country, and the lives of millions, are in your hands.

If this case is not solved, a war could break out with our neighboring nation."

My brother calmly replied, "Tell me everything, sir."

The Prime Minister looked at the Deputy Commissioner and gestured for him to explain.

But the Deputy hesitated, hinting toward me — unsure whether to speak in front of me.

My brother said, "You can speak openly. He's my brother, and his presence is nearly equal to mine."

The Prime Minister nodded and left, shaking hands with my brother.

The Deputy Commissioner then took us to a separate jail area, about 10–15 minutes away.

We walked into a newly built prison — it looked freshly completed, maybe just a few weeks old.

There were five cells inside, two on each side, and one in front. The hallway was narrow — barely enough for two people to stand side by side.

The Deputy Commissioner showed a video recording on a screen.

It showed two criminals sitting quietly inside their cell.

My brother asked, "Where are they now?"

The Deputy said, "That's the problem — they disappeared last night.

The camera shows them sitting inside, but they are not there.

The guards claim they never left."

He added, "We've searched ten kilometers around. Nothing.

It happened last night. Only 20 hours remain before their official release.

If we don't find them, it will be a disaster."

My brother said calmly, "Don't worry. We'll find them."

He started questioning the constable who was standing in front of the cell.

Tall around 6 foot ,Brown skin , wear a white uniform some red straps on his shoulders and at the end of his arms and elbows. a tag on his

Shirt says Honor Duck . By my surprise no one in the jail saluted my brother may be they don't know him at all. Even the security guard inside.

Constable told my brother, in very worried and stressed way , Sir we don't know . The light went off it was too dark for me too see around for 2 minutes. I stopped there , I heard no sound and nothing.

If there was something a miss than the security Guard would notice it and turn on the alarm . But nothing.

And when the lights were on again they just disappeared in the air Sir. I don't even know . Why would even they do it . They are getting released in the morning at 10 am tomorrow. Now it is 9 am . Could not they wait why would they take suck a big risk to flee. The more I think about it Sir more it makes me feel dizzy. I might also loss my job Sir but I swear I never left this place. Our duty changed and I arrived here at 12pm in the day time. It usually changes this time Sir. After I arrived everything was in place.

Deputy seemed deeply worried .My brother patted his shoulder and said don't worry. And Started running on his toes and came back on his toes too. Then he asked deputy Explain the security of this jail and were they were last time.

Deputy said ok let us go back to the police station and I would give you the map of another jail . Where they were before until they were moved here to nearby border area so when they are getting released it gets easy for security to handle. The security here as you can see pretty Tight, guard here for cell and one in security room keeping eye on the camera.

Then we went back to police Station and deputy sat down on his chair and asked the constable to provide us with some refreshments. As it was nearly 10 am . Time for lunch.

And he pulled out a sheet of paper 📜 and folded out in front of us on the table. It was a map of the Jail around 59 cells and cameras installed. In each cell. These we same cameras. But security guard was only one he would also check cameras and keep an eye on the two cells he was given these 59 cells were divided into 2 cell chamber and only one chamber has one cell. Each chamber has own security so even nobody can manipulate the whole camera system. Each chamber has small room where TV shows live recording. As he explained more and more I understood nothing and just nodded.

My brother asked Mr Malhotra(German) what

Do you make of this .. I did not answer and made a face of showing that I understood nothing.

and he smiled.

Then we were back home around 11 am.

We drank tea and ate together. After resting for 2 hours, I started wondering —

"How will he find those criminals when the entirei as police department couldn't?"

When I was about to ask, he said, "You're coming with me."

I asked in full excitement Where ?
