Chapter 21 - Chapter 21

After that day when Nevaeh's dad told me where my real parents lived, I felt relieved because now I could finally see them again. Still, there was one thing on my mind: Ethan and Emy adopted Rudy for a reason. So when the morning came, I woke up, and as soon as I was about to step out of my room, Ethan and Emy called Rudy down to the living room. I was confused. Hence, I walked into the living room, and Rudy followed right behind me. When we got there, Ethan and Emy were on the couch and asked us to sit down.

When we both heard this, we sat down, but I knew something was up. Still, I didn't say anything then Ethan said "Tony Rudy theirs something that we need to talk about as you know you both are adopted kids and we love you so much but we want you to see who your real biological parents are so we have been to the Mr Romas the man you met yesterday and we have plan you too a trip to El Paso to see your real family."

After Ethan spoke, I looked down and started to tear up. Finally, after all these years of trying to remember who they were, I could finally see their faces. I'm not alone anymore; Rudy now knows that he is my real brother, the one he has been searching for, and now we can be together like a real family. Before Ethan could say anything, I replied, "Ethan Emy, I just want you to know that even though we may not be related by blood, you treat us as if we were your own children. Thank you, and I love you so much." After I said that, Emy got up, hugged both of us, and said, "I love both of you so much." As the room shifted, Rudy and Emy were suddenly sobbing. Ethan and I exchanged glances; we didn't even know what to do, so we just comforted both of them.

Three days after Ethan told us where to go, Rudy and I packed our belongings for a week's trip. We were only going to be there for 5 days, so we had to make everything count after we loaded my truck and said goodbye to Ethan and Emy as we left the driveway. It felt strange because I had never left Ruidoso since we moved here, and now I had a good reason to go. I loved this little town for its natural beauty, which included the racetrack, creeks, lakes, river, and diverse wildlife. These are the things I cherish and will never forget. After a few minutes, we finally made it out of Ruidoso, and now, after thinking about it, it's way different because we're in a desert now, and seeing new places makes me feel like there's more to explore while I was driving we made it city called Las Cruces i never thought this amazing place was in a desert but we had to make a pit stop to get something to eat so we stopped at a Mexican restaurant near the exit of the town when we got inside I felt old nostalgia hit me it felt like I was back in Mexico and the owners were really nice as well so now I'm hoping to find them as soon as I can.

After we had finished eating, we were back on the road again. I never thought I would see the beauty of New Mexico. Every place I passed was amazing to me. I wanted to tell Rudy something, but he was knocked out, so I left him alone. While driving, I got a text from HINA asking if it was ok to talk for a while, so I called her, and we talked for a while. All we talked about was what I was doing, but something felt off. It seemed like she wanted to tell me something, but she was hesitant, so I decided to ask.

"Hina, is there something you want to ask me?"

"Yes, but um, is your brother asleep?"

"Yes, he is. Why do you ask, if you don't mind me inquiring?"

"Well, Tony, there's something I wanted to ask you the day we were at your house."

"Sure, what is it?"

"I like you, Tony."
