A few weeks ago after I met the kid with that mask it got me thinking about what was under his mask but I try not to think about it as much and think about what is going on in my life right now.
When I was in my room fixing something I needed to help cast my fishing rod, I heard Emy and Ethan calling me, so I stopped what I was doing and walked to the living room to see what was going on. When I got there, I saw that Ethan and Emy were dressed like there was a special occasion going on. When I asked what was going on Emy said that we were going to see Ethan's side of the family side I needed to get ready as quickly as possible so I put on a nice shirt and nice pants then we headed off
While on the road I started to ask questions like how Ethan's side of the family is and do they even know about me. When I kept asking I was a little excited to meet some of the relatives that Ethan has All I needed to do was be polite and introduce myself to them. When we got there it was a nice house with open land and a nice patio with a bar when I got out of the car Emy asked if I was going to be ok since my arm was still in my cast. I told her I would be just fine but I would call you if I needed help is that fine after I said that we both agreed and then we walked in. Right as soon as we walked in we were greeted by tons of people I felt out of place because I was the only person who had a different skin color but I stayed calm and followed my rules that I had. While I was greeting people one of Ethan's family members walked up and asked "So is this the kid that you guys adopted? "Yes it is his name, Emmanuel but you can call him Tony" Ethan said after that he walked up to me and told me that his name was Reno and he was the one who owns this house.
While talking to him he asked if I was Hispanic and if I knew Spanish I told him that I am and know how to speak Spanish. He was very interested in who I am and what I speak then he asked if I wanted to meet some of Ethan's nephews and nieces I told him "Sure" Then he introduced me to his kids who were a little bit older than me but I didn't mind at all. After I greeted them I sat down right across from them while sitting there something felt off but I tried to brush it off Then one of them asked
"Who the hell are you and what are you doing here"
"Well my name is Emmanuel and I'm here because Ethan and Emy brought me here so do we have a problem here" I said with my hand in my pocket
"Well we do" she said standing up trying to intimidate me "You're not part of this family so don't try to think that you can get away with things"
"I know I'm not so don't think that you can overpower me so easily you understand that" I said with a relaxed but serious tone.
Then one of the boys who was sitting on the chair in front of me got up and started to go on the side of her like what a service dog would do
"Don't talk to my sister like that you understand" in a serious voice
"Cállate, chico blanco, y vuelve a sentarte"
(Shut up white boy, and sit back down) When I said that they backed off in shock because I spoke Spanish to them and they didn't even know what to do. For the rest of the night, I just hung out with Ethan and Emy talking to them and telling them what I do, I even taught them Spanish as well. After we left their house I felt happy because I met new people and made two older kids back off for me that was a good night.
