Chapter 1 - Chapter 1 Crimson Radiance Sect

"Hooo!"

"Hooo!"

"Hooo!"

The disciples exhaled as they punched out. These budding youngsters were the fresh talents of the Crimson Radiance Sect. Inducted into the Sect just a month ago they were getting accustomed to the Sect's famous Crimson Fist. This was a crucial step in their cultivation and would set up the foundation for the rest of their lives.

"Okay that's enough. You've all reached an adequate level and can now train alone, if you have any questions ask any of your Seniors at the guidance hall." The young man instructing them said before he left. He was merely a regular Inner Disciple tasked with teaching the newbies, once they had a basic mastery of the technique his job was done.

In the Crimson Radiance Sect any disciple accepted would start as a Trial Disciple, upon entering Qi Gathering they'd be promoted to an Outer Disciple and eventually an Inner Disciple if they had enough talent. Naturally these youngsters were still Trial Disciples ranging from 15 to 17 years old.

Amongst them was a young man, Wang Tian. He was of average height, with dark black hair and brown eyes. While he wasn't extraordinarily handsome he had his own charm.

Standing amongst his fellow trial disciples the young man had a thoughtful look on his face. 'This should be enough, with how I am progressing I'll be able to release light in another month at that point I can become an official Outer Disciple and I'll have some status.' He thought to himself when suddenly he felt a pat on his back.

"Yo Boss, you alright?" Turning around Wang Tian saw a tall lanky guy behind him. This was Chen Xiao one of Wang Tian's buddies. "I am fine ya, just thinking." Wang Tian replied his thoughts still adrift.

"When aren't you thinking?" Chen Xiao mumbled before his eyes lit up. "Anyway I have some big news. To celebrate the end of our initiation there's gonna be a party tonight at Brightmoon Pavilion. You wanna go? I already told Su Bai."

"A party? What kind?" He replied a subtle interest in his eyes. "Get together, mainly a socialisation event. There will be the rich kids too if that's your main concern." Chen Xiao explained with a grin on his face. He had met Wang Tian upon entering the Sect and he felt he had a good grasp of his personality by now.

While he wasn't some party animal, if he felt like it could be useful to attend or he could make a decent connection he wouldn't mind spending a night for that potential benefit. "We'll go. I am assuming Su Bai said he'll come as well?"

"Yes, yes! This is going to be great, I've been trying to talk to one of the girls this past week. That Lin Mei I told you about, in fact she told me about the party." Chen Xiao started babbling off. Hearing this Wang Tian simply nodded and asked some follow up questions. He could be a bit much at times, but Chen Xiao was a good guy and he valued their friendship.

As they continued chatting they left the training area and then parted ways. They each had some tasks they needed to get done before the party tonight. "Another party..." Wang Tian mumbled to himself as he smirked. This was an opportunity! If he could befriend someone with connection in the Inner Sect or some young master his journey would become much smoother.

Being from a branch family of a small clan Wang Tian didn't have much in the way of cultivation resources, he'd basically have to work for all of it himself. This meant his connections were vital. 'Out of the 300 Trial Disciples about 20 of them are big prizes. Befriending any of them could make things much easier, whether that be doing them some favors here and there to cash in later or meeting some seniors by hanging around them.' Wang Tian thought, his smile growing larger and larger.

Soon he entered his shack. Each Trial Disciple had their own personal shack, it was nothing special but it did the job. Upon entering Wang Tian immediately jumped on his bed and took a quick nap. After about 20 minutes he woke up and washed his face with some water from his bucket. He then grabbed a book from under his pillow titled "The Method".

Opening it up Wang Tian flipped through the pages before landing on a particular one, "Noteworthy Trial Disciples" he then sifted through the names and began deliberating. Here he had listed the Trial Disciples which would be beneficial to befriend. Throughout the month he had already collected a lot of information about them, or well Chen Xiao had collected. After compiling it all he came up with this list.

Eventually Wang Tian's eyes settled on a name. "Target acquired."
