Armament Haki!
Auguro looked at his own fist. This was a completely different power from Reiatsu. If Reiatsu originated from the soul, Armament Haki was the sublimation of physical power!
"Truly, combat is the best teacher!" Auguro sighed with emotion.
His Armament Haki had reached the threshold of awakening a long time ago, but he just couldn't step across it. The reason was simple: the resolve required to truly unleash a strike meant to kill an enemy was worlds apart from the focus needed for training. Only by breaking through that final psychological barrier could Armament Haki truly be mastered!
"It's a shame it's just awakened; even the basic coating is shaky."
Auguro's Armament Haki felt like loosely woven threads wrapping the surface of his fist, as if it could snap at any moment.
"But it's more than enough to deal with you, small fry!"
Auguro raised his head, a bloodthirsty sneer forming on his face as he looked at the pirates still charging at him with bared fangs.
The next second, Auguro vanished from his spot.
With the superhuman speed of Flash Step, these pirates couldn't even see Auguro's shadow! Auguro, in turn, used the destructive power of his Armament Haki to dispatch one pirate with every punch!
Bang! Bang! Bang!
In less than a few seconds, over thirty men were already lying sprawled around Auguro. For these weakling pirates of the East Blue, Armament Haki was truly an overwhelming power!
"That's enough!"
A sudden roar. A dark figure descended from above, swinging a cudgel with a heavy iron ball attached, aiming to smash Auguro's head.
Auguro quickly backed his left foot, sliding several meters away.
Rumble!
The iron ball smashed a large crater into the deck, sending wood chips flying everywhere.
A middle-aged man with a gray and blue bandana, looking rugged and unkempt, stood before Auguro, his face dark as he wrenched the cudgel out of the deck. Auguro recognized him instantly—a famous background character from the original story: the Head Combat Commander of the Krieg Pirates, Gin!
Though he had no bounty, his strength was considerable. He had initially overpowered Sanji, one of the three main powerhouses of the Straw Hat Pirates.
"Ooh! The Commander is here! That guy is finished!"
"Commander Gin is known as the Demon Man! Even the Captain has to expend effort to defeat him. Dealing with this kind of guy is child's play!"
The pirates, who had just been brutalized, cheered wildly, as if victory was already in sight.
Gin swung his cudgel, the iron balls beginning to circle continuously. This was Gin's unique "Demon Man Fighting Style," using inertia and centrifugal force, combined with his martial arts, to multiply the power of the iron balls several times!
"My subordinates have received quite a beating from you. I need to properly return the favor!" Gin's eyes were cold and menacing.
"I hope your fists are harder than your mouth!" Auguro retorted without politeness.
Though Gin had a high following among readers in his past life, Auguro held no positive feelings toward him. As Auguro had said: a thief is a thief! The Krieg Pirates had been terrorizing the East Blue for countless years. Gin was responsible for the deaths of at least a thousand people! In the original story, Gin couldn't bring himself to kill Sanji only because Sanji had shown him kindness, not because he was fundamentally benevolent!
Only a thoughtless person like Luffy would forgive these blood-soaked criminals for the sake of some misplaced sense of loyalty. Auguro had personally lived through the pillaging of Papaloko Island! And those were just fake pirates! The methods of real pirates could only be more brutal!
If they hadn't clashed, so be it. But since a fight had broken out, Auguro had no intention of allowing the Krieg Pirates, this so-called "East Blue Hegemon," to continue existing!
"Spinning Cudgel Punch!"
Gin charged toward Auguro, the rotational speed of his cudgels erupting. Upon reaching maximum speed, Gin fiercely twisted his waist, and the iron hammers on the cudgels swung in a massive arc toward Auguro's head. The strike was heavy and powerful, tearing the very air.
However, in Auguro's eyes, Gin's proud attack was moving as slowly as a snail. He had to admit: against a Soul Reaper who mastered Flash Step, one needed at least to master Soru (one of the Six Powers) to even contend! Otherwise, they would simply be toyed with and killed by Auguro!
However, Auguro had no intention of winning with speed. He wanted to test the true destructive power of his newly awakened Armament Haki!
"Armament Haki: Coating!"
After breaking the psychological barrier, Auguro's accumulated Armament Haki instantly burst forth, and its mastery rapidly improved after this brief combat experience. The invisible Armament Haki coiled around Auguro's fist like a ribbon.
The iron hammer descended with the force of shattering rock, but Auguro stood firm, meeting it with a straight punch.
He's seeking death!
This thought flashed through the minds of the Krieg Pirates simultaneously. Krieg himself sneered internally. With Gin's strength, even if he were wearing his full armor, a direct hit from this blow would injure him. Not to mention this bare-fisted fool!
Under the pirates' mocking gazes, Auguro's fist slammed directly into the iron ball.
Bang!
However, the expected scene of broken bones and snapped tendons did not happen. Instead, cracks spread across Gin's iron ball, and it suddenly exploded!
The bewildered Gin felt a sharp pain in his cheek as the fragments of the iron ball hit him like shrapnel, leaving several bloody lacerations on his face.
"T-this guy… is he a monster?" A wave of fear surged through Gin. That was a hammer he'd commissioned at great expense!
Even a normal sword couldn't leave a scratch on it!
Yet, this person had smashed it to pieces with a bare fist! This completely shattered his understanding of power. Pirates from the weakest of the four seas could not comprehend a force as supernatural as Haki!
As Gin stood there, stunned, Auguro showed no mercy. He retracted his punch, stepped forward, and unleashed another punch!
Thud!
The fist, coated in Armament Haki, slammed into Gin's abdomen like a battering ram. Gin's body instantly folded in half like a cooked shrimp, rocketing into the ship's cabin like a cannonball before falling silent.
One hit, instant knockout!
Witnessing this, every single member of the Krieg Pirates was terrified beyond belief. This level of power was something they simply could not fight! Many pirates subconsciously began to retreat.
"Poison Gas Bomb!"
Just as the Krieg Pirates' morale hit rock bottom, Krieg roared suddenly, launching a sneak attack! A missile shot out from his broad sleeve.
Many of the pirates were instantly terrified by the words "Poison Gas Bomb" and scattered.
However, Auguro knew very well that this was just another one of Krieg's tricks! While he shouted "Poison Gas Bomb," the missile actually concealed shrapnel. Luffy had suffered a small injury from this move in the original story.
Auguro silently drew his Zanpakutō.
The Origin!
As the Soul King's exclusive Zanpakutō, the guard was inscribed with a faceless deity holding the sun, moon, and stars. Once Auguro fully mastered the Soul King's power, the image would be complete!
"Armament Haki: Coating!"
Armament Haki quickly wrapped around the blade. Without any fancy maneuvers, Auguro brought his sword down on the tip of the missile.
Boom!
Like a massive bomb blast, the missile was shattered by Auguro's Armament Haki, and the shrapnel inside was reduced to mere fragments.
"How… how did that guy not dodge?" Krieg was shocked. Previous enemies, hearing the word "Poison Gas Bomb," immediately focused on evading the area. As a result, they were hit by the hidden shrapnel and instantly killed!
"He's going to be difficult to deal with!"
Krieg's eyes darted around, and a new plan formed in his mind.
