"I asked a question… What happened to my brother?" He asked again.

Lady Eirene broke down completely, her sobs loud and uncontrolled. She covered her face, her shoulders shaking, she is unable to form a single word.

The silence gave him his answer… whatever had happened to Ziven was far worse than he feared, and she was in no state to say it aloud.

Kaive scanned the servants' faces. The guards stood rigid, and the maids kept their eyes lowered, none daring to speak.

Kaive followed their silence, reading it in their lowered eyes and stiff postures. No one met his gaze, fear hung between them, thick and suffocating. His chest tightened, and he exhaled slowly, forcing himself to stay calm.

"Let's check on His Royalty Ziven, in his side of the palace, Your Royal Highness," Dino suggested quietly, and Kaive gave a single nod.

"I'll head to my room," Olessia said quietly, already turning away. She moved down the corridor leading to Kaive's wing of the palace with a slow step.
