Chapter 14 - Chapter 13

Nora sat at the small desk in Finn's living room, a book open, fingers gracefully spinning the pen with talent, but the book lines stared back at her stubbornly. "An apology essay... 1000 words... on what? How I survived Mr. Finn's wrath and lived to tell the tale'?" she muttered, smirking. She took a deep breath and started writing.

*"Dear Mr. Finn, aka The Alcohol Avenger, aka the King of Red Faces,"* she began with a grin, *"I hereby solemnly apologize for my reckless behavior of forcing you to drink that tragic beer. I did not anticipate your instant transformation from Ice King to Drama Queen. I now know your tolerance is lower than a sleepy sloth on a Monday morning."*

She paused, looking over to see Finn in the kitchen, humming awkwardly while flipping pancakes. She continued,

*"Your heroic effort to keep the honey water down while battling the cruel consequences of glass of beer was truly inspiring. I admire your resilience... and your impressive ability to turn a simple night into an unforgettable saga of puking and pillow stealing."*

She smiled, write faster now:

*"I promise never to blackmail you into drinking again, although I can't guarantee I won't blackmail you for others things and also take more incriminating pajama photos next time you're vulnerable. Consider this a truce... for now."*

Just as she finished, Finn appeared behind her, holding two plates. He cleared his throat, making her jump. "Is that your apology essay? Let me see," he said, leaning over.

Nora handed it over, bracing herself. Finn's usual stern expression softened, and a small chuckle escaped. "You're terrible at apologies. Her heart suddenly skipped a beat as she stared at the handsome guy, this laugh was like a melody. He didn't frown at her but laughed. She just had to keep cool and composed.

She grinned, "That's the point. You wanted 1000 words and I gave you a thousand laughs." Finn shook his head but smiled. "Alright, Ms. Sabastian, truce accepted. But next time, you owe me good grades and no more beer." Nora laughed as she tailed him to the dining tablea. "Deal. But only if you promise not to turn into a drama queen again."

Finn sighs. "I promise as long as you don't push me to the edge of drinking". The two sat down, the awkward tension melted into warmth, the beginning of something neither wanted to rush but both secretly hoped for. "I wished this could continue a little longer". Nora silently prayed.

...Later at Grace's mansion...

"You're here big sis". Grace raced down the stairs after spotting her from the window, jumping into her arms when he was outside. "Hey Grace". Nora playfully ruffled his hair as usual. "You're staying over, you're staying over right?". Grace jumped around Nora energetic. "Yeah, sure I am". Nora replied with a smile.w

"Grace Stanley?". A cold feminine voice called out from behind. Grace froze, glued to the ground, shivering at the sound of the voice. "Yes mother?". Grace's voice shook as he replied. "Good morning Mrs Stanley". Nora greeted the woman dressed in a white gown. A white laced fascinator firmly placed on her hair and laced gloves on both hands.

Her faces was young-pretty yet super cold and her gaze towards her son was nothing but like a owner looking at his low quality asset. Her well shaped lips, embedded bloody red enough to frighten the human sucking mosquitoes (Vampires). She was definitely and endowed with everything a man could ever wished but here she was in the Stanley's home. Everything here was business oriented, including her marriage and family. They were assets that could slip off if not managed under careful supervision.
