Chapter 99: Fused
Luffy tilted his head and thought for a moment. Kureha had asked him to help drive the King away, which meant he was indeed the helper Kureha had found.
So he nodded and shouted back, "That's right!"
"Damn it! What an arrogant brat. Since you've made your peace with death, I'll just eat you!"
Wapol was now even more convinced of his guess, and his anger flared.
He raised his massive steel arm and swung it down at Luffy with a howling wind.
However, such a clumsy move naturally couldn't hit Luffy. He hopped backward lightly to dodge, then leaped onto Wapol's arm.
He sprinted along the steel limb as if running on flat ground.
"Gum-Gum... Pistol!"
Luffy sprang from Wapol's arm, stretching one rubber arm backward to build momentum, then smashed a fist directly into Wapol's face.
This entire sequence took only a few seconds—so fast that no ordinary person could follow it.
Bang!
Wapol never expected this kid who appeared out of nowhere to possess such strength. The punch connected solidly with his face, sending him flying backward several meters until he slammed onto the edge of the cliff.
One of his arms dangled over the abyss, his entire weight held up only by his other hand clutching the edge.
"Idiots! Help me!" Wapol screamed in terror, looking at his two subordinates who were still standing there in a daze.
"Your Majesty!"
His two men snapped out of their stupor and scrambled over to rescue their King.
This mountain was hundreds of meters high. A fall from here would likely kill even a Devil Fruit user.
"So weak." Luffy shook his head, looking bored. He stood with his hands on his hips, watching the wretched trio.
He had expected a big fight, but this guy couldn't take a hit at all.
Zoro and Sanji, watching from the side, also lost interest.
At a glance, it was clear Luffy could handle these three alone with ease.
Meanwhile, the two subordinates exerted all their strength to pull Wapol back from the brink.
"Your Majesty, that guy is a Devil Fruit user too!" they said gravely.
They had clearly seen Luffy's arm stretch. That was obviously not something a normal human could do.
"Of course I saw that!" Wapol shouted angrily, rubbing his aching cheek.
He stared daggers at Luffy, his eyes filled with rage and disbelief. This brat was far harder to deal with than he had imagined.
"Let's attack together, Your Majesty. That kid is probably a pirate from the outer seas!"
"That's right! Your Majesty, use your ability to fuse us! We want to help too!"
Wapol's two subordinates realized the severity of the situation.
If they didn't defeat this brat, they couldn't return to their days of bullying people under Wapol's rule.
Having drifted at sea for months, enduring hunger and hardship, they never wanted to experience that life again.
Wapol glared at Luffy, grinding his teeth, the skin on his face still throbbing with pain.
"Fine! You two, and your weapons—get in my belly!"
He suddenly opened his mouth wide. Incredibly, his jaw expanded until it was large enough to swallow an adult human whole.
Then he reached out, grabbed the two men one by one, and stuffed them into his mouth.
Moments later, he spat them back out.
Or rather, he spat out their "combination."
The two men had fused into one entity—a massive, humanoid monster with two heads and four arms.
The monster's upper body wore armor belonging to one man, while the lower body wore the fur pants of the other. It looked bizarre, mismatched, and incredibly bloated.
"Nani?! That... that's... a robot!"
Luffy, who had been on the verge of yawning from boredom, suddenly lit up at the sight.
"Idiot, that's just two guys stacked on top of each other," Sanji couldn't help but retort, the corner of his mouth twitching.
This so-called fusion looked more like one person had climbed inside another person's clothes. Although they were bigger, they just looked clumsier and more ridiculous.
"You'll soon know the power of our fusion!" the two heads of the monster spoke simultaneously, their voices overlapping.
He grabbed the black fuzz balls from his afro and hurled them in all directions.
Caught off guard, almost everyone found these black fuzz balls sticking to their fur coats.
"What is this stuff?! Why won't it come off?!" Luffy smacked the fuzz balls stuck to his clothes, but they clung to the fabric as if they had grown roots.
Zoro tried to flick them off with the back of his sword, but the balls stuck firmly to the blade.
Sanji tried to kick them away, only to find his shoe stuck too.
Ganyu was the only one unharmed. Before the fuzz balls reached her, she froze them in mid-air, leaving several blocks of ice on the ground in front of her.
Chopper, standing beside her, jumped in fright, staring at the ice chunks in confusion.
"Haha! My fuzz balls are charged with static electricity! You can't shake them off!"
The fused monster laughed triumphantly.
He raised a bow and rapidly fired several arrows that had been ignited at some point.
Naturally, the group didn't just stand there. None of them were weaklings, and they dodged the arrows easily.
However, Sanji had a stroke of bad luck. As he stepped back, he tripped over a protruding rock. His dodge was cut short, and a flaming arrow grazed his pant leg.
Whoosh—
The moment the arrow touched the black fuzz ball on Sanji's pants, it ignited instantly!
The fire was shockingly intense. In the blink of an eye, it threatened to spread from his leg to his entire body.
The searing heat hit him immediately, and Sanji's face changed.
Luffy panicked and shouted, "Quick, take off your pants, Sanji!"
"Like hell I'm taking off my pants! Miss Ganyu is right here, you moron!" Sanji gritted his teeth against the burning pain in his leg, looking flustered.
"Let me help you out, then." Zoro drew a blade, pointing it straight at Sanji's thigh, his eyes eager.
"Bastard! You're trying to chop my leg off, aren't you?!" Sanji screamed. He knew exactly what this green-haired jerk was thinking.
"It's your own fault for not dodging. Don't worry, just one leg. You can get a prosthetic later." Zoro smirked, slowly raising his sword, the cold light glinting on the edge.
But quickly, a force pressed his hand down.
Zoro didn't resist. He let the force guide his sword back, shaking his head with exaggerated regret.
Whoosh—
A stream of icy blue energy shot from Ganyu's direction, landing on Sanji's leg.
Instantly, the spreading flames vanished, leaving only a patch of scorched fabric and ice crystals on Sanji's pant leg.
Sanji stared blankly at his saved leg, then turned to Ganyu, his eyes shining with gratitude and adoration.
"Miss Ganyu! You saved me! Let me spend the rest of my life repaying this debt!"
"It shouldn't take that long," Ganyu nodded slightly, the cryo energy in her hand dissipating.
Seeing this, both heads of the fused monster looked shocked. "Impossible! How could our fuzz-ball fire be put out so..."
"Bastard! You monster freaks almost made me embarrass myself in front of Miss Ganyu!"
Hearing their voices, Sanji remembered the culprits.
His face darkened. Then, he launched himself into the air, moving like a bolt of lightning. A black leg shadow flashed for an instant.
Bang!
A kick filled with rage, with almost no strength held back.
With a single blow, he kicked the monster off the cliff. It fell helplessly without any resistance.
Only two screams, fading into the distance, could be heard.
