Chapter 100: Gone with the Wind

The two fused men plummeted straight off the cliff. In the vast, snow-white world, not even a shadow remained.

All that was left were two screams that faded into the distance before being swiftly swallowed by the howling wind and snow.

It all happened so fast—so fast that Wapol's mouth, which had just opened to mock them, froze in place.

He was completely stunned, his mind blank. He couldn't comprehend how his two subordinates, enhanced and fused by his Devil Fruit ability, had just been kicked off a cliff like trash.

Who are these people?

How are they so strong?

"Wow... so cool..." Chopper couldn't help but widen his eyes, staring at Sanji in disbelief.

He had thought Luffy was incredibly strong for punching Wapol away earlier, but he hadn't expected Sanji to be just as impressive.

Zoro glanced at Chopper. Seeing the talking reindeer looking at Sanji with such adoration, he crossed his arms and scoffed.

"He's just average."

It was just defeating some inexplicable enemy. If it were him, he would have done it much cleaner.

Here we go again...

Hearing this, Ganyu instinctively rubbed her temples, helplessness filling her eyes.

She already knew what was coming next.

"What?! You moss-headed bastard! You just stood there watching, your brain full of nothing but muscle! You think you could do better than me?"

Sanji, like a powder keg waiting for a spark, charged over furiously.

His intensity was even sharper than when he had defeated the monster moments ago, scaring Chopper into shrinking back.

Zoro was unfazed. He raised an eyebrow, his tone provocative. "Isn't that obvious, Curly-brows?"

"Bastard! I knew it... you're asking for a beating!" Sanji's face darkened as he raised his knee.

Zoro narrowed his eyes, gripping one of his swords, though he didn't draw it. "Try it if you think you can!"

Just like that, the two began their daily standoff. The air seemed to crackle with invisible sparks.

"What do we do... what do we do... they're going to fight! Something terrible is going to happen!"

Chopper was frantic. His animal instincts told him that if these two fought, they might tear the whole castle down.

But having just witnessed their strength, he certainly didn't dare stop them himself.

He hurriedly cast a pleading look at Luffy and Ganyu.

But to his shock, the two were standing together, looking relaxed, as if they were settling in to watch a good show.

Chopper couldn't take it anymore. He pointed at them and shouted incredulously, "Are you just going to watch them kill each other?!"

"Shishishi! Isn't it fun, Chopper? Aren't you going to watch? Their fights are hilarious!"

Luffy laughed, his eyes bright with interest as he watched Zoro and Sanji butting heads.

During their long voyages at sea, the frequent scuffles between these two filled the boring hours. The crew, Luffy included, had grown used to it—even enjoyed it.

"Nani?!"

Chopper couldn't believe this pirate captain would say something so "irresponsible." He pinned his last hope on the figure who seemed exceptionally reliable.

However.

Ganyu shook her head and said with a helpless air, "Chopper, you'll get used to it."

Even she couldn't do anything about these guys.

Chopper was completely dumbfounded. His little brain was in chaos as he thought to himself:

Is this... what all pirates are like?

Right, I've never met pirates before. Maybe pirates are just different from normal people. Maybe fighting amongst themselves is just their way of bonding.

Thinking this way, Chopper felt a little more at ease.

However...

His heart, which had just calmed down, began to pound violently again at the sight of a figure that definitely shouldn't have been ignored.

"Wa... Wa-Wapol! He's still here!"

He suddenly raised a hoof, pointing at a short, stout figure trying to crawl away in the snow.

Hearing this, Luffy and Ganyu seemed to snap out of "spectator mode." They turned their heads simultaneously, their gazes locking onto the bloated figure.

Oh, he's still here?

The figure, who had been trying his best to sneak away a second ago, froze instantly. His body went rigid, as if turned to ice.

He slowly, painfully raised his head. His face was covered in snow as he forced an ugly smile.

"Uh... h-hello there."

Wapol was panicking. The last time he felt this terrified was when that pirate crew suddenly invaded Drum Island.

Those pirates had been inhumanly strong. Neither his Royal Army nor his top executives could fight back.

It was seeing that hopeless situation that made him decisively abandon his country and people to flee to the sea.

He had planned to lay low for a while, wait for those monsters to leave, and then return to resume his reign of terror as King.

He never expected that the moment he returned—before he even stepped foot in his castle—he would run into another group of ridiculously strong outsiders.

He wasn't stupid. After seeing his two subordinates kicked off a cliff by the curly-browed guy, he realized clearly that he stood no chance against this group.

Now, his only option was to repeat his old trick: flee the country again, be a wandering pirate for a while, and come back to reclaim the throne once these people left.

After all, powerful pirates like them wouldn't stay on a winter island like Drum Island for long.

"So you're still here?" Luffy acted as if he had just noticed him. He cracked his knuckles, the joints popping loudly.

With that, he stretched his arms and neck and began walking toward Wapol at a leisurely pace, not saying a word.

"Wait!"

Noticing his movements, Wapol foresaw himself being sent flying. He threw his hands up in terror and shouted:

"You! You guys are pirates too, right?! You must be helping that old hag Kureha for money! I... I'll pay you! I'll pay more than she did! I'll hire you! No, I beg you to spare me!"

Luffy didn't stop. His arms began to stretch backward, gathering power.

"How about ten million Berries?!" Wapol watched the stretching arms, cold sweat pouring down his face.

Luffy didn't speak. His expression grew even colder.

His advancing steps were answer enough.

"Twenty million... Thirty million... One hundred million!!!"

Wapol screamed until his voice cracked.

The price he offered climbed higher and higher, reaching the absolute limit of what he could accept.

But to his utter despair, the straw-hatted boy's eyes didn't waver. It was as if he hadn't heard a thing.

The two rubber arms stretched back over ten meters, nearly touching the hard stone wall of the castle behind him, before stopping.

Then came the terrifying, heart-stopping whistle of tearing air!

Whoosh!

"Gum-Gum... Bazooka!"

With a roar from Luffy, the two rubber arms snapped back, driving two clenched fists side-by-side straight into Wapol's face, which was twisted in sheer terror!

"No, no... no..." Wapol's eyes bulged. He trembled all over, but he couldn't dodge the blow.

The moment he gave up fighting and begged for mercy, he lost any possibility of fighting Luffy.

Bang!

"Pirates aren't what you think they are!"

Accompanying the thunderous impact, Wapol's bloated body took flight almost instantly. He became a blurry black dot, soaring into the sky at cannonball speed before quickly vanishing from sight.

Luffy stood there, looking up for a long time, before nodding in satisfaction.

"Looks like he flew right off the island."

He had kept his promise to Kureha.
