As he was about to put his revolver in his pocket, Zavi heard the cloaked man's words before he died.
Zavi's eyes suddenly widened.
"Have I destroyed someone else's life?" he said with trembling lips.
He stared at the corpse of the robed man with a guilty expression, unable to believe that he was truly guilty of killing another person.
Zavi decided to step forward and approach the corpse of the robed man. But then, something strange happened that stunned him.
From his right side—the dark corridor—two other robed figures appeared, and one of them lifted Veranica's unconscious body by her hair.
The robed figure threw Veranica's body in front of him. Her beautiful face was now covered in bruises, the result of being beaten by the two robed figures.
Previously, she had been strangled by the cloaked figure who had been defeated by Ren, and during the fight against the two cloaked figures, with every breath she took, her chest felt as if it were being crushed by thousands of kilograms of weight.
The pain caused Veranica to lose, even though she fought desperately to endure the pain.
–––
During the previous fight, she had launched a blue barrier to trap the two cloaked figures.
But unexpectedly, her ability suddenly failed her. Her heart raced. And after hearing that, her vision suddenly blurred, seeing about ten cloaked figures standing in front of her, ready to attack.
She chuckled. She decided to fight the two robed figures, regardless of whether she would die afterwards.
"Come at me...!"
The two robed figures immediately ran in opposite directions, attempting to surround Veranica and kill her instantly.
But the plan did not go as intended. Veranica managed to escape through the dirty cracks in the floor, turning into a cloud of black smoke.
The effect of the power was fatal, causing Veranica to squint her eyes, unable to see clearly where the two robed figures were.
All she saw were ten shadows, and she did not know where the real bodies were. She reflexively rubbed her eyes, but before she could do so, the two cloaked figures moved faster than before.
They drew small knives from their sleeves and aimed them forward to stab their enemy.
Veranica reflexively dodged to the side, and somehow her body seemed to sense the danger that would injure her.
But dodging the attack alone was not enough. One of the robed figures appeared behind her, wanting to slash her neck.
The attack was futile, Veranica was still able to fight as if her body was fine. After about half a minute, her body was at its limit, and her vision was getting more and more blurred.
Thud...!
A powerful blow landed on her right cheek, her body was thrown against the wall on the right side of the room and destroyed it.
Several parts of her body were bruised from being hit by the wall debris, including her right cheek, which had been struck by the robed man earlier.
"Uhuh... Uhuk..." Dust filled the dark room.
Veranica couldn't breathe properly, forcing her to leave the room while covering her nose. Just one step after leaving, the two robed figures were waiting in front of the room and immediately struck her mercilessly.
Thud...
The skin on her right and left cheeks turned purple-black, bruised. The blow was so strong that she immediately fell to the floor and lost consciousness afterwards.

Meanwhile, Zavi couldn't believe what the two hooded figures had done to a woman.
"Hey! What exactly is your purpose in kidnapping people in the square?" he asked with a sharp and wary gaze, ready to attack if one of them suddenly attacked him.
The two hooded figures looked at each other. They laughed heartily, suddenly making the previously tense atmosphere in the room lively.
"Why are you asking that?" he said, uncovering part of his face and revealing his sharp blue eyes.
"What!? So he's not from here, huh," he said seriously, Zavi preparing to take the gun from his left coat pocket—Ren's gun.
The atmosphere around them became silent, no more conversation after that. But it was broken when one of the cloaked men who had been talking to Zavi opened part of his hood.
"How long are you going to sleep, Carlz?" he asked, staring at a corpse in front of him.
Zavi was shocked. He saw the blood on Carlz's robe disappear. Shortly after, Carlz's body rose and stood up with a purple aura swirling around his cold body.
"All right," Carlz replied coldly, walking towards the robed man and standing beside him.
"Huh... A Necromancer, huh? I know that from some novels I read after coming home from work, and I didn't expect to see that ability with my own eyes." Zavi was surprised and unconsciously rubbed the back of his head.
But what puzzled him was why they were still silent and hadn't attacked him yet?
The question suddenly spun around in his head, leaving him confused and unable to say anything.
They stared at each other for about a minute. Zavi, bored with the current situation, plucked up the courage to voice his thoughts.
"Hey, damn it. Why aren't you attacking me?" he asked in surprise, tilting his head.
The expression of the robed man who had awakened Carlz turned serious and his blue eyes stared sharply at him. Still staring intently at Zavi, he was ready to dodge if he tried to attack him.
The robed man widened his eyes, seeing Zavi smile with an expression as if mocking him, and he realised that he knew about his ability.
"Hey, why aren't you attacking me?" Zavi paused for a moment to take a breath. "I know you can't attack me because you can't control that corpse yet! Am I right?" he said with a mocking expression.
He growled in annoyance after hearing those words. A snap of the fingers broke the tension in the room, bringing it to life.
The robed man beside him glanced at him with an indifferent expression and immediately signalled to finish this quickly.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
Without them expecting it, Zavi had shot him first. Their eyes widened, not expecting that his carelessness could cause him to die so quickly.
Meanwhile, Zavi felt something strange in the pistol he was holding. And a few seconds later, the bullet, whose direction was previously unknown, pierced the bodies of the two robed men, piercing their hearts and entering the magazine as if Zavi had not fired it at all.
"What the hell is this?" Of course, he was startled and accidentally dropped the pistol, hitting his shoe before falling to the dirty floor.
Reflexively, he turned to his right—the wardrobe with a mirror attached to the door. Quickly, he walked over, opened the door, and immediately pulled Ren out.
