Sandy's POV
Days had crawled by since I found myself trapped in this penthouse with Charles. The space felt enormous yet suffocating at the same time, and the silence between us had grown so dense I could practically taste it in the air.
We hadn't exchanged a single word. He spent his time lounging on the couch in the living area, head thrown back like he owned the world and everything in it. When he wasn't there, he'd disappear into the guest bedroom, always keeping his distance while I locked myself away in my room, pretending I didn't feel the weight of our unspoken tension growing heavier by the hour.
